Carlsbad Children’s Garden

Children Whisperers… the best thing that happened to our family. Professional, wonderfully educated, intelligent, ingenious, loving, patient, resourceful, flexible, logical, clean, no-​drama, quality toys & activities, big outdoor space, a popular «mud kitchen», people who care about the kids/​parents/​school, embrace differences, empower kids, star teachers… I could go on. This play based preschool has mastered redirection, learning by playing & how to properly socialize. I have learned priceless parenting techniques from Ms Anne/​Regan/​Evelia that has made a huge difference on circumventing melt downs & defiance & has created a quality citizen! My son has attended age 2 – 5 & summer now that’s he’s going from K to 1^st grade. Ms Anne, please add grades K-​5^th!!! ;-)

I am very fond of this school. My daughter spent less than one year here and my only regret is that we didn’t find it sooner. The school itself has a very calming and comforting feel. The director is gentle, almost always present, and very approachable. She has a very good idea of each child’s personality and individual needs. The teachers have very little turnover and they are patient, warm, and engaged.

It was a great place for my son to go to pre-​school. We had him in another program and he would cry everyday. We went and looked Carlsbad Children’s Garden and he ran right in, right out to the back and joined the kids. He never looked back.
I would highly recommend Carlsbad Children’s Garden.

You know how they say when you shop for a pet you don’t choose the pet, the pet chooses you? Well that is what happened to us with this place. As soon as we met the director, Ann, it just felt right. Then when we walked into the backyard the deal was sealed. HUGE backyard with lots of space and lots of things for the kids to do.
We wanted a play-​based pre-​school and this is certainly that. A sign inside reads «Preschool is NOT bootcamp for Kindergarten.» We laughed at that and felt it fit with our goals perfectly.
We loved the fact that there are only about 40 kids b/​c our son was a bit timid. This place has worked wonders on him. He has come out of his shell quite a bit and has made some very good friends, as have we. We get along great with many of the other parents and socialize with some of them outside of school as well.
We just enrolled our 2 year old daughter here and now they both go to preschool together, until our oldest goes off to Kindergarten in Sept; he’s been at CCG for a little over 2 years now.
We also really enjoy the teachers here, very friendly, approachable, great with the kids. It’s a great small family feel!

My daughter is in her 3^rd year at CCG and she absolutely loves it, as do I. We have recently registered our youngest, which we were planning on waiting until she was 3 in February. We have felt so comfortable with the director and the teachers, and have been more than thrilled with our 4 year olds progress, that we enrolled our youngest earlier then we had planned.
Our children feel very safe and loved here. If you are unsure of where to look for your little ones, I can’t recommend this place enough. Being a former teacher myself, I appreciate how I see the teachers taking special care of all of the kids. When we drop off our girls, we never see the teachers just standing around talking. They are always engaged with the kids. The director is also wonderful and goes out of her way to make accommodations for us.
I can’t recommend Children’s Garden enough!

Last March I was looking around for a new preschool for my son and contacted this location. My comments here are base solely on communications with the administration, and not on visiting the actual facility. We ended up falling in lov with a school before visiting this one.
Here is the info I gathered through talking with the director (i assume
Carlsbad Children’s Garden accommodates 2 yo — 5 yo. (It does not have a kindergarten program.) School is in an older house, so it has a homey feeling according to the person I talked with. Summer registration is kind of funky to sort out but the director is nice and fully involved in the school.
Tuition is very reasonable. Very play-​based environment. $ 865 per month for full time, for a 4 year old.
If I moved to Carlsbad I would defiantly schedule a tour to check them out, sound like a really nurturing atmosphere.

I have to say that this is the best preschool for my son. He needed to learn those fundamental social skills, and it has been amazing. They’re not huge on worksheets and pushing academics, but really, what most children need to do at this age is learn to play with others. I love the school so much that I have enrolled my 2-​year old as well. Ann is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend Carlsbad Children’s Garden.

My little guy loves going to school! Every one of the teachers give him just enough attention when he needs it and enough space when he’s feeling adventurous. The kids spend a good deal of their time outside doing what kids are supposed to do — PLAY! (Talk to Ann about the natural process of learning through play… it’s incredible!)
Everything is clean and feels home-​y, they have lots of natural elements and several engaging «stations» for kids to explore and experiment. It’s all very hands on with an emphasis on problem solving and exploration.
We all just love it!

The best preschool! I searched high and low for preschools when we first moved to Carlsbad. I can not say enough about Ann and all the teachers! We loved it so much that when my son graduated on to Kinder we enrolled our 2 year old twins. Thank you Ann for letting children be children.
