O’Reilly Auto Parts

It was Christmas Eve 2015, my headlight for my 1994 Chevy Van was out and I knew I would be needing it that night. I drove to the store on 41^st Ave, walked in and saw a man helping out his co-​worker. I went to him, turned out he was Katsuo, the store manager. He not only found me a headlight for my van but installed it right there in front of the store and then refused a tip. However, I did insist he take it and go buy himself some lunch. I was extremely happy with the service and the price. I will being going back to this store for my auto needs!!!

Battery died the 2^nd time, so came to O’Reilly’s on 41^st and was treated like a Queen. They replaced my battery, gave me a $ 5 credit on the old one, recycled it for me, and made sure it was working. They also helped me with a couple of odd fixes (the top to the windshield fluid container was missing) and they found a close fit and suggested a bit of duct tape would hold it in place, at no charge. I really appreciate their service and can-​do attitude!

The staff is great! I called they had the part, great quality, good prices. Couldn’t ask for more. Close to home and always have what I need. Thanks :)

Visited in Dec. and Robert (or John, maybe?) was super helpful in checking out my older SUV and not only recommending his best products, but also taking about 10 minutes helping me install some of them! (seat covers, steering wheel covers). Nice guys and I highly recommend.

Went in to get a replacement headlight. The sales person was very helpful and installed for free. The bulb price was much cheaper than dealership prices.

Went in today to get a replacement bulbs for a headlight and a brake light. The service person was super helpful — found me the parts and then INSTALLED them. I am sure they don’t do that when it is busy but it sure saved me time today and I really appreciated it.

Called these guys looking for paint, said they had it in stock. When i arrive no paint to be found. Ask the person i talked to over the phone. Tells me he didn’t bother to look, just assured me that it was in stock. (because he was to lazy to walk the 10 feet and check?)
Oh well not the end of the world, ill just call the downtown store, The sales associate at the May street location says he has 3 cans in stock. I ask him to physically put 2 of the 3 can aside because i am coming to pick them up now. When i arrive he franticly looks for the paint that he didn’t bother putting aside. He told me the computer said he had 3 and didn’t bother to actually look. I wasted about an hour driving from store to store and waiting for piss poor service. These guys are a joke and i wont be shopping at either location again.

Uneducated in parts and inexperienced to be running a parts store. Worst O’reilly I’ve ever been to. I will never go back and I should have listened to my instincts and the reviews on Unilocal prior to wasting an afternoon dealing with these kids.

Whenever I go there the people are always friendly. If there is a line they call people from the back. They have great customer services, and always have the auto parts I need. Whenever I have a question, they are patient and get me the answer. Thank you.

This place has the worst customer service of any auto parts store. I WILL BE DOING BUSINESS ELSE WHERE! Too much personal conversations going on, no help with products, not friendly our even greeted or thanked upon check out Needs staff over haul.

This place sucks. I bought a battery there that should have been under warranty. It had their sticker and their date with my name on the battery and they would not redeem it until I got a bank statement showing the purchase.
5 STARS! for Adam who works there and was able to get through the BS and get my replacement battery.

It’s a car auto shop. They all look grimey, but at least they have the necessary items for your car! There isn’t a lot in Santa Cruz, so this place will do.

Knowing that there is an aftermarket for a Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor on for a 01 Ford Taurus, I went into this store looking for price and availability.
A older guy named Matt was at the parts counter trying to find the part I requested. I had to repeat myself numerous times because he seemed to have trouble remembering the part and the vehicle application because he did not take notes or write it down.
After we are both getting frustrated with one another, I ask to see his computer screen to see if I can see anything that resembles the part description. I noticed that Matt was spelling fuel «fule.» I told him no, he started clicking random button links with his mouse on the computer screen. I told him to forget it, I’ll go somewhere else.
Matt then called over another employee named Adam, who is also another know not I had to deal with in the past (see my Kragen, Capitola review.).
THIS PLACE IS SHOT.

I called in advance to check that they had the car battery that I needed and was assured that they did… When I arrived I was helped fairly quickly and the clerk offered to put in the battery for me free of charge. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. The battery is working just fine!

Rude employee’s. Stupid me, I keep going back only to find rude employee’s and poor service. I’ve contacted the head office to complain, but they continue to employ rude people. In my opinion this is a direct reflection on the management. It’s hard to believe that in this economy they are still in business. I’ll not make this mistake again and will go anywhere else for my automotive needs, even though they are right down the street from my house.
