Well, I know a thing or two about cars but not a ton. I have shopped all over town for parts, and asked for help with different things. I bought a jeep and loved it from the day I got it. But, I knew it needed some work. With the help of a great friend, I got all the work done and ended up learning a lot along the way. Some times they do have to research things, because with all the new advancements in automotive and the different computers its impossible to know everything. Cars are not made like they used to be. Now they all have computers, sensors, OBD2 emissions changes… you know. they are a mess haha
I read the post by a man who said he has classic cars and that he knows everything under the sun, yet the employees made mistakes and it nearly cost him his life. Well, if you really know a lot about cars, then how come you did not know better? Really odd to say you are an expert, that the workers dont know anything about cars, but then you didnt know what you were doing and nearly died because of it. HAHAHAHA
Sorry, ok back to my review, they do take the time to help you learn and will track down any part for near any vehicle. If they do not have it they will find someone who does or send you to the right place. I am learning about JEEPS now as much as I can. Really glad I have a great group of people who will help when I need it. Thanks!

If you are looking for the best service, pricing, and availability on Auto Parts in Santa Cruz County, look no further. Brad and the boys at Mid-​County are the best hands down! I called on them recently for some hydraulics for my Yukon Hatch thinking they would have to order it. To my surprise, they had it in stock at a great price. When I got there, Brad even came out and installed them right there. That is what I call service! Then he found a great deal for one of my fog lights that were busted. Over the years I have called on Mid-​County for numerous parts for my trucks, car, and even my boat — 99% of the time it is in stock at a great price — if it’s not, they can get it same or next day. Great Service, Great Prices, In stock, what more could you ask for out of the best auto parts store in Santa Cruz County?

This used to be the best Auto parts shop in town, but the recent management and staff has made it steps below the others. What’s worse, except from the two remaining old timers that know what they are doing, the staff Knows noting about your car, they only know how to Google it, just as you could. I’ve spent more time returning parts that they were cock sure about being right then anything. I went through my receipts, they are 30% accurate. And, their lack of Knowledge compromised my vehicle making it unsafe to drive and put my life at risk. I will never shop there again. Beware, they don’t know what they are doing. I am a car enthusiast, own 7 classics and two modern vehicles and work on them all. Go to Santa Cruz Auto or Andy’s Auto. Beware!

These guys are great! The staff seems to actually be car enthuses. Every time i have been in they knew what i was talking about. Worlds better than other local parts stores. They even had a key for a rare alternator that i was swapping in my vintage rally car! Hands down the best shop around.

Mid County Auto Supply is great. John, the manager there has always been helpful and their machinist JT and there entire staff have always been helpful with the right part at the right time. Great job guys.

This is a great little auto shop in Capitola just down the street from Kragen. They have the cheapest Royal Purple Synthetic motor oil in town, so I come here to get my oil.

Nobody’s reviewed Mid-​County? Well, I may be biased since I worked here as delivery driver for 2 years but this is the best parts shop in the area. They are known for getting that hard to find part that you’ve been looking for for your vintage ride. If they don’t have it in stock and no one else can find it, the guys at Mid-​County will track it down for you. They may be a little more expensive than your local Kragen or Pep-​Boys but it’s worth it to deal with a mom and pop (or Buzz and Bill) company that’s been around for 50 years and has the knowledge and experience to help you get whatever you need. I can’t vouch for the delivery drivers though, since I haven’t been there to train them in the last couple years. Support local business!!!
