Right before Christmas I took my car for an oil change. I knew my tires were bad but I really didn’t want to have an extra expense in my life. JR pointed this fact out and was very adamant that I not drive around with them.
I drive the 17 Four to five days a week for work. And he just gently encouraged that I replace them. Finally I broke down, applied for their credit, and put 4 new shoes on Blu (I have a Rio. Get the reference??)
Anyway. 4 days later I was on my way to the bay on the 17, I had to work, then pick my daughter up at the airport. It had been raining and the roads were wet. I came around a blind turn and there was a 2 car accident blocking the hwy. I slammed on my breaks and stopped feet away from colliding with the other vehicles. All I could do was silently thank JR for being my guardian angel! If I had not replaced my tires, it could have been a 3 car accident.

I’ve been taking my car here for about 4 years, & have been happy with them. The customer service is hit & miss, but I’m impressed with their reasonable prices & fairly fast work. They have given me a discount before just because I’m a long-​standing client, & I really appreciate that.

Terrible service. Showed up for my appt and was told it would be no more than 2 hours for my flat repair and multipoint inspection, showed up 2.5 hours later and they were just taking the tire off the car and then told me they had «really bad news» that there was a no way to fix the tire and they had to replace it but didn’t have it in stock. Then told me how busy they were and they didn’t do the inspection either… but I could come back tomorrow and do it. I sat there for 2.5 hours and they didn’t do anything to my car! Terrible service and the manager acted like he was too busy and «too much work hanging over his head to get to Tomorrow».
Was told someone would call me the next day when the tire was in, nobody called. When I called them they told me my husband called to make an appt that day at 2 pm for the car to get inspected and the tire put on. I told them that was incorrect my husband never called them to make an appt and they kept telling me that he did.
Overall I have been here 3 times and had terrible service and been lied to, I will make sure to spread the word to everyone not to go here.

I’ve come to this Goodyear a few times over the last 3 years of living in the area and will say today’s experience was the first bad one I’ve had, but; it was bad enough to leave a review unfortunately.
I made an appointment online a few days in advance of bringing my car in for an oil change and tire rotation, I often go to Goodyear as they usually have a deal going on the oil changes. I brought my car in about 10 mins before my 2 p.m. appointment. Right away I waited about 15 – 20 mins just to talk to the desk clerk, there was only one guy working it and three customers (including myself) waiting for him to finish with the customer ahead of us. When they finally wrapped up and I let him know I had a 2 p.m. appointment he told me they were running behind today. I said that was OK but, if was going to be a long wait I’d rather reschedule and come back when it was less busy (I was little miffed at this since I did make an appointment and the customers who make em should probably get their job done before the walk-​in customers), he said he could get me out by 3:30, again I wasn’t thrilled but I was already there and overdue for the service. I told him fine, but that I really couldn’t go too much past that time as I did have somewhere to be a 6 and had a bit of a drive. He said he understood and he’d get me out by 3:30. I stayed and waited (had a book ready and everything). 3:30 rolls around and I looked up to see my car was still in the same spot I had parked in, I figured they couldn’t possibly have not worked on it yet and must have just finished and parked it back in the same spot. I waited to get the desk guy’s attention (still just the one guy and still about 3 – 4 people needing assistance) to see if they had wrapped up and while waiting (it’s nearly 4 pm now) I see someone come to pull my car into the garage… they hadn’t even started to work on it. The desk guy sees my expression and tells me they’ll be quick. I told him no, that’s OK, tell them not to bother and to just get me keys.
If you’re that busy don’t tell a customer you’ll get them out at a specific time and then not even begin to work on their car till almost 30 mins after when you’re supposed to be finished with the job. I think at 3 pm (an hour after my appointment time) he should have let me know it wasn’t going to happen. Twice I told him I’d rather go then take longer than I had that day and was assured it would be fine. Total waste of time.

Do not go here under any circumstances. They are horrible. I had a oil change appt that was suppose to take 30 min. (had an appt) THREE AND A HALF hours later it was done. Had to come back the next day, air pressure lite was on. They did not fill my tires during rotation as I specifically asked and on my return they didn’t have time to fix the lite which their error caused. Bad business would never go back. This on top of rudeness from the guy who waited on me. There are too many places in town than to be treated and lied to this way. Forget it go somewhere else.

My family and I have been loyal customers of this Goodyear location for nearly 15 years. We have always had good service; having had everything done from minor work like oil changes and tire rotations, to more complicated stuff like having a window replaced. I had always been happy with their service until recently. I went in for a simple oil change, which would turn out to be the last oil change my car would ever receive. A month later my engine was blown, essentially totaling my car. I took my car into a mechanic who checked everything out and informed me that my engine was not leaking oil, nor was it burning oil, yet the engine was completely empty of oil. Apparently when i had my oil changed at Goodyear Auto, they drained the oil, replaced the oil filter, and FORGOT TO PUT THE CORRECT AMOUNT (IF ANY) OIL BACK INTO MY CAR!!! Thanks for killing my car Goodyear. Now I get to go through the process of trying to get them to either fix my car or pay for the damages. Meanwhile I am left without a vehicle. I can only hope that Goodyear will have enough humility to admit their fault, and do the right thing.

We had an emergency situation involving a flat tire and a departing flight out of sfo early in the morning! JR promptly accommodated us first thing in the morning and we made the flight! I was impressed with their stellar customer service so much so that I brought the truck back in the same day for a check up and to replace a brake valve I’d been ignoring for a while now. They worked with me on the price and did a fantastic job! I’m still giving them 5 stars, even though the job took an extra day to complete and I had to reschedule a class I teach. Thanks Goodyear and team. I’ll be back for some tires!

I found that my tire pressure sensor was yelling at me for a low tire, and when I noticed what looked like a nail, I called Goodyear to see if they could squeeze me in and fix it. Not only are they open late (7pm!) they could fit me in. I drove in, but trying to find a spot in their teeny-​tiny lot was a bit challenging.
When I walked in, there were 2 very flustered guys at the counter trying to help out some customers. There were a few people in front on me. About 10 minutes later, I was finally helped. I will not fault them for the slowness though, because an older gentleman customer strode in past the line and demanded to be helped, and another woman complained very loudly that there was no customer shuttles and her dog was at home… sob story. One of the guys working there offered her a ride in his own vehicle — what a nice guy! I give them huge props for dealing with the rude Santa Cruz locals, so thanks guys.
By being patient, and being nice, they fixed my car up in under an hour. No nail in my tire, and they didn’t charge me for labor even though they checked for other leaks and all was good.
I appreciate customer service reps who deal with rude people all day and don’t let it phase them.

Horrible place! Been waiting over a month for them to fix the lug they stripped. They keep giving me the run around. First they say when they took the tire off it was fine but when they went to put it on it was stripped. Then told me I had to pay them to fix it. WHAT!!! After arguing about how I should not be held accountable for their mistake they finally agreed to order the part and fix it. But of course the day I come to drop off the car no ones has any idea what they had to fix. After again having to explain why I was there, they say they will have it done by 12:30. When 12:30 rolls around no update. I called they said the part has not arrived should be here by 2pm. It was 5pm still noting. Finally I call them 10 mins before closing and they said they will call me on Monday when the part arrives and will fix it then. It’s 3 Monday’s later still no call or update and my tire is missing a lug. THEY HAVE NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIER WORK OR ANY CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF THIER CUSTOMER!!!

I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They were honest with me about being busy, but fit me in and fixed extras I had been putting off for a steal. Instead of having my rack and pinion or suspension fixed, they figured out that my tires were severely unbalanced and one had 3 extra weights on it. This is after having brakes redone, tie rod replaced on the weighted wheel, and alignment done at a specialty 4×4/AWD shop because my car has a truck drivetrain. Now my car drives like new. They had the 13″ windshield wiper that I was told I would have to order from the dealer in stock, saving me $, and put it on for $ 5! THE BEST PART: I had been waiting to smog because a check engine light was on, diagnosed as an O2 sensor which was $ 200+ to replace just the part. 3 repair shops, same story. These guys noticed that one of the jackalopes who worked on my car had not replaced the brake fluid reservoir cap and they thankfully put a piece of plastic over it to help me out until I can get the part. If it stayed like that, I could have gotten a bubble in my brake line! Goodbye check engine light. The power steering flush solved all of my morning groans and steering wheel stiffness. I knew the tranny flush was overdue and was the most urgently needed service but I forgot to tell them, and this was the first thing they recommended doing right away after checking the fluids, so I knew they were totally on top of their game and not trying to charge me for erroneous items. They also have the Tire Pressure Monitor sensors in stock for my car, which was another thing I was told I could only get at the dealer, and they do the inspection for $ 25 and apply it to the cost of a new one. I’ve never been more satisfied with car repairs in my life, and IT’S MONEY IN YOUR POCKET to go with this shop which you can trust. All of my Santa Cruz friends agree, and get their business vehicles serviced there too! J. R. Neveu is the Store Manager, nicest man you will meet in your life, and even with adding all of my unscheduled repairs to their already busy schedule that day, they elected to work before and after hours that day and the next to help somebody who was traveling and needed an urgent repair, so that they could get back on the road ASAP. That’s what commercials for other companies advertise but never deliver.

This place is great. They can usually get me in without an appointment and always check everything out and let me know if there are any issues with my vehicles. Cheaper than most other shops in the area too!

I had the best repair service ever from these guys. Super fast even though I hadn’t made an appointment. Plus they knew I was gonna be waiting in the area since I don’t live in town so they got it done quick for me. I could be happier.

Came in for a flat tire repair, was told nonchalantly to park over there I don’t know what my schedule looks like! There were 4 people working and one empty stall. Parked my car, went inside and the person at the desk said he would need three hours to fix my tire! Clearly they did want my business! Called a small tire shop called Gondez asked if they had time to fix a tire! They said yes! I told them I would come right over! When I arrived they had 3 workers no empty stalls and we’re working on two cars when I went back to talk to the mechanic he very nicely said what do u need help with and I told him he said give me 45 min and I will have it done!

Thanks so much for the awesome customer service! I went over on my lunch break to get my tires looked at, and Derek said that it would be a little while so I went back to work. Before I could call and check on the progress, he had brought my truck to me so that I didn’t have to walk back later in the evening. Thanks Derek, and great job!

Great place! I called this morning to see if they could get a nail out of my tire. The guy on the phone said I can drop it by and they could fix it in between the other appointments. I dropped it off around 8am and got a call by 8:50am saying it was ready! I was so pleased that they fixed my tire fast and the workers I dealt with were friendly. I appreciated them taking care of my tire and not trying to get me to buy a whole new one! Best part was that they only charged me $ 20. I would go back again. Thanks!

I have been going to this goodyear for the last three years and I have nothing but great things to say. All the employees treated me like family. The store manager Ryan has help me numerous times not only with tires and oil changes but has also gave me suggestion on other services I should do to my vehicle to make it run better and longer. I don’t know how anyone could say anything bad about this place ever! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!

I have been using goodyear’s services for years now as well and have always been helped by amiable and efficient employees. They definitely have my support!

This is the only place in the Santa Cruz area I could find. Went in at 9:00 AM, Derek helped me out and was very polite and professional. It’s now 9:12 and they’re already done; quick work and great service! He also informed me that my tires were in pretty bad shape but didn’t try to up sell me, just let me know and told me that they had tires for $ 50 apiece, which isn’t bad for brand new tires. While I’m in Santa Cruz, I know where I’m coming for all my vehicle maintenance!

No idea how these guys are a recommended installer on TireRack. They installed my directional tire the wrong way and lost my valve stem cap. Not a great experience at all. Had to drive back to get it corrected.

I am so disappointed in so many ways!
I went in early and made an appointment to get my leaky tire fixed. When I came back at my appointment time, the tall thin, very unfriendly man behind the counter quoted me a high price. He said ‘oil change’ I said no. Then he said ‘alignment’ and again I said NO. I told him my appointment was for a tire fix… he said ‘oh’. No apology for the mix up at all. THEN, after waiting 50 minutes… I was told it would take 20−30…I looked out to see my car still sitting in the parking lot. I asked what was going on with the car… that I had a noon appointment and the unfriendly clerk said…‘we’re late’…duh!
He came back in and said he is just pulling it in now… I refused and said I was leaving. The clerk DID NOT APOLOGIZE or try to make my bad experience any better… he basically did not care if I left unhappy!
I feel sorry for the owner/​manager for employees like that! I WILL NOT BE BACK AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE… EVER!
