This place is the best Mexican food joint that I’ve ever been to. The staff are very nice and gave us free chips before our meal. The spinach and cheese empanadas are to die for. I very much enjoyed my burrito as well. My mother got the pollo asada salad and it went above and beyond the expectations. It’s very fairly priced and I plan on recommending all of my friends and acquaintances who are in the mood for some Mexican food.

I stubbled upon this place when I went to pick up a pizza at papa johns next door. I ordered 2 empanadas(1chicken 1 beef) and I loved them! The chicken is hands down my favorite only because I don’t like olives and the beef one has olives. I decided to invite some friends to go check out other parts of their menu. I got an empanada of course because those ARE really good and full of meat. I got a taco de alpastor. Pretty good actually. I asked for the meat well done & crispy and they delivered. It’s not exceptionally good but definitely flavorful. My 4 stars comes from the fact that their burritos were not good at all. I think I prefer chipotle burritos and those arent even Mexican. They had little meat and their seasonings on the meats were just not all that. I tried both the asada and chicken burritos and would never order either of those. I would only return for their chicken empanadas.

My girlfriend and I were in the area hungry and saw this place had high reviews on Unilocal so we figured we’d try it out — being the Mexican foodaholics we are. So we put in an order to go. While waiting the very friendly staff whipped us up some killer complimentary chips(with cheese, salsa, sour cream) while we waited. She had the chicken tacos which she was very satisfied with(and looked really good) and I had an asada burrito that was really decent. Which actually reminded me a bit of Baja Fresh. We’re definitely coming back soon!

Okay! This place is amazing, not only is this restaurant good but the owner has a catering company. It has two names so don’t be alarmed if you see«Flavors of the World» you are at the right place. Burritos are amazing. Unfortunately they don’t and can’t serve alcohol but hopefully they open another location where they can. The empanadas are to die for!

My mom was in the mood for a taco so I Unilocaled tacos and this place came up! Thank you Unilocalers for leading us to this hidden gem. The food here is delicious and the owner is extremely friendly! We ordered carne asada and chicken tacos and chips and salsa. The tacos were delicious, the corn tortillas were the best I’ve ever had! We started talking to the owner and asked about the empanadas, he turned to the man behind the counter and said make them the chicken, beef and spinach empanadas. Best empanadas!!! We asked if we could pay for them and he said no. Definitely give this place a shot, you won’t regret it!

Delicious doesnt describe this place. I used to spend summers in Mexico and the food here reminds me so much of that delicious food. Today for lunch we ordered 3 asada tacos, a carnitas burrito and an asada salad. Everything was AMAZING. I had the tacos which are easy to make and even easier to ruin… These are pure perfection. Grilled like my family used to do it during our summer BBQs… Slightly crispy yet tender and delicious. I didnt take a photo of them bc who hasnt seen street tacos… These YOU gotta taste to believe. I did tho take a photo of my friends asada salad bc I was so impressed with it and she raved about how yummy it was. Will definitely be going back!

They don’t have quite the variety that everyone else does. However, the rating here is for Perfection on what they do have. People are not just slinging High reviews for no reason here. I ordered asada, pastor and carnitas tacos with everything plus cheese. I also ordered a beef empanada, more on that later. None of them were over fried, oily or crispy; however, they each had very appropriate and distinct flavor and were tender and juicy. The pastor was especially rich and tasty. Now, for the empanadas, OMG, you have got to taste the empanadas here. I’ve tried a few empanadas, including gourmet empanadas. This thing was full of tasty meat and perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside. They come with chimichurri sauce. I can see why their catering business blew up. This place is much higher quality than your average taco joint. The kitchen got a makeover, accepts credit cards and they even have a soda fountain. The health department score is an A and the restaurant is very clean. I was pleasantly surprised buy the small basket of chips with beans, cheese and sour cream splashed on top. They don’t have a salsa bar, but I asked for red and green sauce and they handed some over the counter for me. Both sauces are mild, but very rich and tasty. Evidently, they’re catering business got so busy they had to close the restaurant down for a little bit. But now they’re back and lucky us. It’s still in Mexican restaurant, LOL. They had the Mexico Canada game on TV. They close early, so make sure you get there well before 8 p.m.

If you live in Canoga Park/West Hills — and even if you don’t — you HAVE to try the food here. The empanadas are homemade and the BEST. Definitely go for the spinach and cheese, with fresh spinach and a really nice, light and crunchy crush. I love them! The burritos are huge(you can ask for light beans if you don’t want tons of them) and definitely make sure you get their chips while you wait for your order. OMG — they put their own salsa, sour cream and cheese on top of freshly made, warm chips and they couldn’t be better. The food is cheap to boot. Skip the chicken quesadilla unless it’s for your kids; it’s a little bland. Support your local business; this one is worth it! A handful of tables inside, serve-yourself fountain drinks, Spanish-language programs on the TV, in the plaza at the corner of Shoup and Serman Way, across the street from Ralph’s.

This place is so cool! It’s a bit hidden and even though I’m not Mexican I felt as if I were eating authentic mexican food. We got empanadas, street tacos and we even tried sashimi. The owner is very friendly and the food was very very delicious :)

This place is great. If it’s not on the menu, just ask. I was in the mood for taquito which aren’t on the menu so I asked. The were the best I’ve had. Not frozen, fresh and handmade right then. Very small place so many do take out. I have eaten there several times and am always pleased. Owner is friendly and accommodating. They cater too.

Straight-forward delicious, fresh, real Mexican food! MAN! Just plain GOOD! The service is quick & efficient. The workers have great attitudes & do not mind any special requests. All the salsa is made from scratch & extremely flavorful, if not hot enough to kill you :) The meat is tender & tasty & I have yet to find a morsel of gristle — something many Mexican restaurants can’t compete with! Flavors of the World is the catering company intimately connected to Casa De Papi. The owner can cook anything, from any where or any region. Marco G. uses food to create art, always the entertainers as well as the chef/catering services. Their high quality professionalism shows through everything they do. In the restaurant industry time is always a factor and they are always ready to go, on time. If you live in the West Valley & you’re looking for a caterer for any event, from your child’s 5th birthday to your own wedding, these are your guys. Seriously.

So I came across this place, on accident from getting breakfast at Nicos’s. I decided to stop and try this place out… And I was not disappointed at all with the service or the food. This restaurant has a Mom and Pop type of feel. It feels like I’m getting homemade food! It’s really, really good. Of course I had to get a carne asada burrito. And the owner of the place is super chill and nice! He threw in some empanadas for our first time. So all in all. I have a New Mexican spot in the West Valley! Yaaaasss!!!

Soooo I was at work searching for a new place to eat that’s not to far away so I took it to Unilocal! My fellow Unilocalers led me to Casa De Papi. I ordered 3 chicken tacos and 1 chicken empanada. OMG just saying it makes me regret devouring it like I did. If you stop by which I advise you do, get no less than 2 empanadas :) the tacos were yummy as well very fresh and just the right amount of meat but the star of my visit was that yummy jammed packed flavorful empanada! While I wait for my food they gave me a little red basket filled with chips and goodness I’m not sure what was drizzled on the chips besides sour cream but it was good. So service was great, wait was less than 15 minutes, food was great I’m a fan!
