Chris Zanger — Partner, Chief Executive Officer

Chris was born and raised in Saratoga. He began his real estate career in 2004. Chris has has a wealth of experience working with single family home buyers and sellers, as well as working with multi-​billion dollar property development/​investment companies. As CEO of Mainstream RE Group, he is responsible for policy, strategy, sales management and operations.

Matt Mueller — Chief Operating Officer

Matt was born and raised in Santa Clara. Matt’s professional background started in construction where he has held a variety of roles including; sales, marketing and executive management. In 2010 he was introduced to Chris Zanger and they formed a real estate sales team. As COO/​CMO of Mainstream RE Group, he’s responsible for overseeing the processes that support the core business of the firm, corporate brand identity and managing the marketing communications strategies.

Can I give Mainstream more than 5 stars?
We bought and sold our Cambrian home with Chris Zanger at Mainstream. As this was our first purchase and sale we felt unsure of the entire process. Chris walked and talked us through every step, making us feel confident and at ease with all the decisions we were making.
Additionally, during the purchase, Chris recommended super stars for some of the renovations we planned to make. During the sale, as we were moving across country, Chris was our eyes and ears in CA, ensuring the safety of our home and belongings.
We have been extremely happy with the staff and services at Mainstream!

Selling a house and leaving a neighborhood isn’t a naturally easy, stress-​free experience– but it’s made much, much easier by the right realtor. Once we made the decision to take on selling and moving, we met with Chris Zanger and talked over the process. Right from the start we felt like we were in great hands with Chris and his team at Mainstream. We were coached through the process of selling our house and all questions were addressed. We honestly felt like we were important. There was never a doubt that we would be in good hands, and we were, with our house selling in just a week after being on the market! The sale went smooth and we were incredibly pleased with the offer Chris was able to negotiate. Chris also helped us find a home in our new city. He was patient with our needs and made sure to keep communication flowing about the house search. He toured houses with us and for us and when we found «the house», he was on it! We got the house and we seriously can’t thank Chris and his team enough. We love Mainstream and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!!!

We just sold our townhome with Chris Zanger at Mainstream and it was an awesome experience. I had met Chris several years ago and he provided us with great information about the market and the process well before we were actually ready to list.
Chris went above and beyond on several occasions and made the whole process great. The pricing strategy was very effective and he was a great negotiator and got us the rent back we wanted and relatively quick close. He went above and beyond trying to make sure that we were informed throughout the process. He was also willing to baby sit the house on several occasions when we needed to have work done and let people in and out.
In addition to Chris, the rest of the team at Mainstream is great. Very helpful and professional throughout the process.

It was so great to work with Zanger and Matt. When we first started looking we were told how crazy the market was, and that people sometimes put in over 20 bids until they get their bid accepted. When we spoke with Chris, he was able to calm us down and explained that everything is about timing. He was able to get us our home on our 3rd try, and we are very happy.
I know that is not normal in this market place, but Chris worked hard for us and we can’t say thank you enough!

Looking for one’s first home in the Bay Area can be overwhelming to say the least. We really appreciated Chris’s willingness to take weekend after weekend to teach us about just how things work in this crazy market. He was really patient with us and answered all of our millions of questions. He really walked us through what to look for, watch out for, etc. In the end, we found the perfect house for us and couldn’t be happier. What’s particularly notable is his willingness to help us even now that we’ve been moved in for several months. We still call for referrals for various services, like electricians, contractors, etc. because we know we can trust his advice. We highly recommend Mainstream to anyone looking in the area!

We could not have asked for better agents on our side– Lance and Liz did an exceptional job through our home buying process. My husband and I are first time homebuyers, live on the East Coast and were trying to buy a house in California. Lance came very highly recommended from a friend and we are so glad that we used Mainstream Real Estate. To start, since we lived across country, Lance made several trips on his own time viewing homes on our behalf and gave us honest feedback about each home and the surrounding area. We put an offer on several homes and Lance was very honest with what he thought was a fair offer. What sets him apart from other agents is that Lance was more interested in us finding the perfect home at a fair price than he was about making a quick sale. We finally found the perfect home and Lance met personally with the sellers to get the deal done. We then worked with Liz through all of the paperwork and she was fantastic to work with. She communicated with us almost daily through the entire process and was always a few steps ahead of all of the paperwork. We are now proud owners of our dream home and have Lance and Liz to thank for it.

I simply cannot emphasize how much of a pleasure it was to work with Chris in finding a home for our growing family. As we are all aware, the SF housing market is off the charts. This means that months are spent stressfully looking at homes, making offers, and repeating.
Chris was with us every step of the way. He guided us through the process (our first home purchase) and was accessible seemingly 24⁄7 by email and phone. He looked carefully at each house with us and offered his honest opinion — making it very clear that this process was about customer service for him, not profit. In the end, it was his recommendation to write a letter to the owners of the house we purchased that got us the deal. Excellent thinking on his end.
It has been 6 months since we have had our home and we are thrilled. To cap it off, Chris is STILL instantly accessible by email and phone. He has gone out of his way to put us in contact with reputable and reasonable contractors to do some work. In addition, he has helped us navigate any issues that come up, e.g., in the context of home warranty service. The only horse Chris has in the race now is one about customer service. And this is appreciated.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Chris and his team in selling and buying a home. Chris was great to work with on both deals. His professionalism is top-​notch and he clearly knows his business. Chris cares about his clients and made us feel as if we were his top and only priority. While I know he had many clients at the time, he was dedicated, attentive, and always had our best interests in mind at all times.
Chris did a fantastic job in guiding us through the selling process. He successfully marketed the house and helped us get multiple offers. We received a great price for the house and it closed without a hitch! As for purchasing our new house, that process went just as smoothly. After a few short weeks of searching, we were under contract on a short sale. Anyone who has ever done this knows it can take a very long time to close on a short sale. Chris did it in record time. We truly believe we never would have gotten the house had it not been for Chris and his depth of real estate knowledge and experience. He was able to get us a great house that met every one of our «must haves.
