Highly recommended! Probably one of the most knowledgeable technicians out there (Sundance Jacuzzi). We had a top rated Unilocal technician trying to solve a problem with our jacuzzi for almost a year (3 lines in display and jacuzzi not heating)! He kept replacing parts but jacuzzi stoppped working few days after the repair. Finally he suggested we contact Greg to see what the problem was. It took Greg one visit to fix the Jacuzzi.
I wish we called Greg first, it would have saved us time and money.

We just inherited a Sundance Cameo spa and were struggling to get the water to heat. We had consulted with another company, which identified the problem as a clogged circulation pump, but their charges to fix the problem were just out of this world. We ended up ordering the part online and trying to fix it ourselves, but alas, we are not gifted in spa trouble shooting. This is where Greg came in-​I called him after seeing his amazing Unilocal reviews and he was able to make it out the next morning. Greg definitely knew his way around the spa parts; he got the pump replaced/​working and even did some trouble shooting for us on the spot. We definitely appreciated Greg’s speedy and professional, not to mention cost-​efficient, service and will be saving his number for any other future issues we may have! Thanks to Greg, we were able to relax in our hot tub last night after weeks of frustration!

I have an older Sundance hot tub that was not used by the prior owner and not properly maintained. After doing extensive researching online, I found Greg at Hydrotech. He was the original Sundance hot tub technician in this area and was the only one for many years.
We scheduled a time for him to come take a look at my hot tub. He was accessible by phone, text, and email which was very convenient. He arrived on time, was very personable, and extremely knowledgeable about hot tub systems. After replacing a few parts (which he had on hand!) and explaining the basic functioning of the system and maintenance, I was able to get the system up and running.
I highly recommend Greg for repairing, explaining, rebuilding, or even removing your existing hot tub system.

I called a few company’s to fix a leak in my hot tub and they were very pricey! Then I contacted Hydro Tech and spoke with Greg, he was at my house within hours. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix the leak within 24 hours. I would highly recommend using this company for any pool or spa needs! Thanks Greg for the fast service and fixing the problem! First time Greg service my hot tub it was great, good service and fast but this time I spoke to him on the phone, left messages but never heard back from him.

Saved me money and made my week. I got a quote months ago from a different person and realized repair was going to be out of reach for awhile. When money was available. I started calling around again Greg was so much less than the last guy that I almost questioned whether I should hire him. Would the end price be higher or would the quality be low? The Unilocal reviews were good so I took a chance and so glad I did! Greg went above and beyond and my hot tub has been wonderful! I would highly recommend not going anywhere else. Best spa repair I have used by far.

2 stars. It would have been 5 for his good knowledge, but Greg lacks the ability to call you when he says he will call you, and certainly never shows up when he says he will. I am grateful he did the work, but, man!!! He does not run his self-​employed business the way I ran mine, when I was self-​employed. I wish I could recommend him, but am not sure I can.
I offered a very big project to Greg during the early December 2014 timeframe when it was raining like heck and cold outside and he had no one calling him for work. I gave him my 28′ square barn which is dry, fairly warm and well lit, to work on a project that he promised would take a week. What spa repair man gets to work in such an environment? It was from December 7^th to Dec 23^rd, so I have plenty of experience dealing with him.
I have an old Sundance Optima that is probably 1997 – 1998 vintage. It leaked so much– and the frame was so rotted out, it should have gone to the trash heap. But I had customized it to a degree I was willing to try to fix it rather than buying another used hot tub for $ 2000 or so and then having to customize that. Greg inspected it and offered to «rebuild» it for «less than $ 1000» as he put it. I was very incredulous.
This included undo-​ing and re-​gluing most jets (I thought it would be ALL jets, like he said, and like my written agreement said, but he just ended up doing the ones he thought would leak from experience), rebuilding the entire wood frame, and cutting new outside wall pieces from plywood. I had to paint, which including primer, took about 8 hours of my own time.
Things started out dicey when he kept promising day after day for a coupla days, he’d get «some of his guys» to come help flip the spa and move it into the barn. Never happened. Why would any professional promise to flip over and move your spa unless they plan to comprehensively hire some people who can do it, and charge you for it as part of the contract? I said, screw it, and had my own friend, him and my automotive cherry picker an we got it raised onto dollies and we moved it into the barn where I, single handedly, flipped it using my huge automotive lift. This also took a couple of hours of my own time, not to mention having to bug a friend to come help.
Then, Greg only shows up half the days he says he will and always hours late. Not on time once. Not once. He informs me the job will now cost more than $ 1000. I type up an agreement and ask him to sign it, stating it will not cost more than $ 1500 and will include all the things I mentioned. He needs payment on a regular basis, since business has been slow. I help him out by doing so. I even accidentally paid him $ 200 extra since the last several checks were $ 200 increments. I did not care, I wanted my spa back and when he was working, things seemed to actually get done.
Once the tub was done, Greg checked it for leaks as per our agreement, for about an hour or so, and left. But the agreement was to also fix any other leaks that are found afterwards. I found several, a couple that resolved themselves, probably due to slight overfilling. One was an easy tightening of a air injector jet. But one was pretty major and did not show up until after the foam got soaked. He did fix that one, but as always, late in showing up, making planning for me and my family, difficult.
After all this, I did some accounting and figured out I had overpaid him $ 200. I wrote him and told him it was no big deal, and he could keep it, since the actual work done was good. But. I needed help with one final leak. I called and texted and called and texted about it all the way to December 30^th. Sure, right after Xmas I can understand. But 5 days after? Only one text response: «I’ll call you in a few minutes». That was yesterday. No call today.
I dug into it and figured it out myself. It was a silly little O-​ring on the diverter handle that he replaced himself with a used one. Luckily I had some I bought for the other diverter and once I installed the other two I bought, it cleaned itself up.
Another thing that has a major impact is: Greg did not replace all the foam he removed from underneath and around all the pipes on the sides. He claimed the foam was not that important and all the heat is lost from the top. Wrong: My four 1-​hour long heat cycles can now not keep up and the spa is a degree or two colder every morning. It went from 102, down to 92 in a few days. I checked with a thermometer, it is losing heat. I would need to run it on Standard mode all the time, spending 3−4X the money, to keep it hot. I have comprehensive PGE bills and Watt meter readings to back up my knowledge of this spa’s usage. So had to drain the hot water completely, jack it up again, put it on jack stands, crawl under, and stuff the underside with fiberglass. Then removed each side panel and wrap pipes. All this would have been 10 times easier if the spa were still upside down. Then I had to re-​heat 450 gallons of water.

3 day weekend my goal to get my hot tub up n running while I had the chance only nobodies answering they’re phone or number out of service. Greg answered thank goodness cause I was gonna give up. Thanks to Unilocal and guys like Greg I am about to enjoy my hot tub once again. Greg came out was really nice. Focused on my tub. Rebuilt something replaced/​serviced ect. Greg just came over to repair my Sundance spa and managed to save me a few hundred dollars. I am very pleased with his innovative solution that saved me from having to buy a new pump and/​or switch. He had seen the same problem so many times before that he went out and had new eProms burned that eliminated the need for the parts that went bad. This is a guy who knows his stuff. I couldn’t recommend him more.

Had an urgent need to get our pool heated up in prep for an infant swim class. we tried to start it up 2 days prior and couldn’t get the display on the pool heater to show anything. did some Unilocal research, called Hydro Tech (Greg) and a few others. Greg responded within 2 hours to my call, and even though arrived later than quoted, he was able to come out that same afternoon. After troubleshooting through multiple successes only to be met by different error/​issues, he had it up and running within 2 hours. I would recommend Greg due to his availability for our urgent need on a days notice, his professionalism, and his ability to get my equipment working. We will surely keep his number around if ever needed again.

Greg really knows his craft! My older Cal Spa wasn’t turning on. Investigating further I found an electrical circuit disconnect box had developed a bad connection. I had an electrician come out and replace the disconnect box with a nice new breaker box and repaire some wiring. Spa still wouldn’t turn on, and was tripping the new breaker. After troubleshooting it awhile myself, I called in the pro. Greg came out the next day and immediately spotted the issue. Electrician had wired the neutral incorrectly at the breaker. He changed the location of one wire and spa turned right on. He noticed a leak around one of my pumps, replaced the fittings, and tightened everything up. Even replaced a missing screw on the access planel that I lost years ago. I’ll go to Hydro Tech for all my spa repairs from now on!

I noticed that my spa was leaking so my next door neighbor tried to take the motor apart so we could check the seal. The last part was really difficult to take apart so we decided to take it to a small motor shop. I looked up «Hot Tub Repair» on Unilocal and found Hydro Tech. We were planning on driving over to the address shown, but I decided to call first because it was late afternoon on Saturday. Greg answered and told me that he had another job and would come either Sunday or maybe later on Saturday. I didn’t expect to hear that he would come to my place, but that was even better! It turned out that his job had been changed to Sunday, so he came to my house right away. He was very professional, knowledgeable about spa motors and friendly. He took the motor apart, replaced the seal (which he had with him), and filled the spa with water to test it and everything was great. Some of my screws that we used to replace the wood siding had rotted so he gave a bunch of his screws and a drill bit also! He recommended a stain that I could use to make the wood look better and I took his advice and it looks almost new again. For a house call, the time he spent and replacing the seal, I thought the price was extremely reasonable and I was pleasantly surprised.
The next day (Sunday), I checked the temperature and discovered that the power on my breaker box wouldn’t stay on. So, I called Greg and he came back to replace the heater element. He said that for some reason, heaters go out after there are issues with the water level or other issues that occur and it’s very common. I’ve had my spa since 1999 and haven’t had any problems with it, so it made sense that it needed to be replaced. He removed the heater element, tested it and confirmed that it was defective. He had the part in his truck and replaced it right away. Once again, his fee was very reasonable and response time was excellent. I highly recommend his work and have referred two of my friends to him. There is no reason to have a non-​working spa in your yard. Give Greg a call and he will fix them for you!

Greg is fantastic. He fixed my Sundance Spa in less than an hour and I can promise you I’ve waited a year to make the call. The price was very reasonable. With this guy you get a person who is very knowledgable about how your system works and gives you pointers on how to keep your machinery alive.
I’m glad to have Greg on board. My spa was heating up to 105 when reading 92! Thank you for your great service Greg. I suspect I’ll be seeing you again, but hopefully not for a while!

Yey, our spa works! Greg is awesome! We have a CalSpa that came with the new house that we bought but unfortunately it didn’t work. We had another company come in and tell us that we needed to replace the motor then we had Greg come and give us a 2^nd opinion. Good thing we did! Greg said we could replace the motor but instead recommended that we rebuild the existing one at a fraction of the cost! We went forward with Greg and a few days later we’re hot tubbing! Greg is professional, trust worthy, knowledgeable and overall a miracle worker when it comes to spas!

Greg is awsome! Such a smart guy. I once again had a problem with my HT and for finacial reasons tried to fix it myself. Like to think of myself as a pretty smart guy. After many frstrating hours of thought and labor I gave in and called Greg. Luckilly had his card with his new number 408−315−1421. He came and he had it up and running within 15 minutes.
