For Goodness Snakes

Brian came out to my sons 7^th birthday today. He was fantastic! The animals he brought were so docile and clearly well cared for. Brian’s ability to manage the children and animals safely was excellent. I would highly recommend him!

I have to say that it is hard to keep a room full of 2 to 5 year olds happy and entertained. He had No problem coming to our school and keeping all those little eyes on him. Everything he did was interesting and informative. I think it’s very important for kids not to be afraid of these animals and he did a great job making the children comfortable. At the end most of the children were holding and petting the snakes and lizards. I would definitely recommend him to anyone

He is the best. Helps kids get over their fear or snakes and is such a resource. Highly recommend.

We had Brian come over for our daughter’s 8^th birthday party. So glad we did! Afterwards parents told us that kids kept talking about the reptiles. It was fun, and the best part was kids got to handle the animals for a while, no rush, no line for a quick «touch with one finger for one second». Highly recommend. Brian was great with the kids and adults. He is obviously very knowledgeable
and passionate about his animals.

How to you keep a roomful of 5 year old boys mesmerized, parents laughing, and everyone entertained and learning for over an hour? Hire Brian! We had him come to our son’s 5^th birthday and it was a huge success! He was so great with the snakes, but he was just as good with the kids. He made sure to go at a pace in which everyone was comfortable.
If you plan to hire him for a party, here are a couple of tips.
Tip #1: Schedule for him to arrive around 30 minutes AFTER your party starts. This will ensure that most of your guests have arrived before Brian gets there. This is important because Brian’s show/​presentation is carefully designed to «wean» everyone in, so that your guests aren’t overwhelmed by walking into a roomful of snakes.
Tip #2: You may want to get a disposable tablecloth for your table. As well trained as these snakes are, I don’t think they are potty trained.
What a totally amazing and memorable experience!

I must say, I am not a fan of snakes unless they are behind thick glass. As I watched Brian hold and tap on the snakes, talk to them, talk about them, etc., I learned some really neat facts. I was still not comfortable holding or touching one, HOWEVER, I did feel comfortable being close to them. Brain was super encouraging to each and every one of us, but also reminded people to make sure to not get close to those who are scared. It is a really low key, upbeat entertainment.
I would love to do this again!
(p.s. at this party we had a particularly unique group of kids, most were on the autism spectrum ranging from 5– 11 years old. We did keep it rather small, but Brain was so patient and caring, as I feel he is with all kids. So if you are hesitant about it, just communicate your concerns and we will work with it).

We just had a birthday party and Brian absolutely made the whole entire party. He had all the kids engaged and everyone loved relating to his story of how he loved animals as an early child. He brought the most wonderful snakes and lizards. Everyone got to hold the reptiles and truly enjoyed every moment. I received text messages from parents later in the evening, saying they all still were talking about what a great day it was with the snakes. Brian truly amazed all the kids, my son especially. We first met Brian at a Reptile expo and knew he would bring great snakes to a birthday. We were not disappointed! We would recommend him over and over again, and would love to find a reason to have him and his snake friends back again. Thanks Brian for such a great memory!

Brian really does care about each individual animal. He is very kind and always willing to help with any questions of any kind.
My wife and I purchased a female Goldblush Pastave from Brian at the show and she is just freaking gorgeous! I couldn’t be happier with her color, temperament and just overall status. Can’t wait until she’s ready to breed :)

We used FGS for our sons 6^th Birthday. It was a fantastic choice! Brian was amazing over the phone and helping us prepare for the visit. His wonderful wife ended up doing the demonstration in our backyard in Gilroy. She was professional, so sweet and she handled ALL the kids very well! The kids loved it, the parents were just as intrigued and I would recommend FGS again and again! Great way to educate children about reptiles! Call them and book, you will love it!

Our Cub Pack just had Brian do a show for us at our Pack meeting. The boys and parents loved it. Brian (and his snakes) are very patient. He answered all the boys questions. Was very informative and explained how best to handle his non-​venomous snakes and lizards.
After introducing the snakes he encouraged scouts and parents to handle the snakes. Eventually all the scouts, siblings and parents had I hands on experience with the reptiles and snakes. Lots of pictures to remember the occasion. I heartily recommend Brian and For Goodness Snakes. He would be great for any youth group or classroom.

For goodness snakes was the speaker at the Cub Scout blue and gold dinner. I had planned to show up after their time slot, but at the last minute I decided to go. I freaked out when Brian started uploading his snakes to plexiglass boxes. But I managed to stay in my seat, somehow. Brian’s talk was really good. I managed to go within a couple of feet of the snakes at the end of the hour to get a picture of my son happily holding Whitey. The plan was to pet one, but I did not manage to do that. Little too much for one night. Still proud of my snake progress.
Thank you Brian! The kids absolutely loved it. And I am glad I went too :-)

Brian just did our son’s 4^th birthday party and he was fantastic. He did a very educational show while keeping the kids very engaged. Birthday boy got special attention and then everyone had plenty of time to handle and pet all the snakes. Having these amazing creatures in our home with a room of enthralled kids is really priceless!

Our daughter fell in love with these snakes at a recent festival, so we jumped at the opportunity to have Brian bring his collection of reptiles right smack into our living room for her birthday. Brian was awesome! Very responsive to emails; arrived right on time. Was patient with the kids. Smiley, Stretch, Bingo, Buzz, Whitey, and the rest were all great houseguests. And if they weren’t, he just stuffed them into a pillowcase inside a duffel bag. Wish I could do the same when certain people act up, if you know what I mean.
I never log in to Unilocal to write reviews. I only use it to research stuff. But this was such a great experience, that I felt they definitely deserve it. Do something different for yourself or your kids the next time you have a party, and invite some reptiles over! We had several guests who came in as die-​hard snake-​haters. By the end of the day, they were wearing snakes around their necks like oversized-​jewelry. What a great opportunity to surprise themselves and overcome their fears! Who doesn’t love that?

What a treasure. We hired for goodness snakes for my 4 year old’s birthday party. It was a memory of a lifetime. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He knew how to entertain the young children. Captivating. His snakes and other reptiles were obviously well cared for and beautiful. For anyone afraid to have snakes around the young kids– please don’t. It is 1000% safe. The kids learn a lot and have a ball.

My daughter wanted to have snakes at her 9^th birthday, We found Brian online and we couldn’t have been happier.
The party was excellent, and all the guests thoroughly entertained. Brian put the more frightened girls at ease and everyone got to handle all the snakes. Personally snakes give me the creeps, but I got in and petted them as well. Amazing animals.
I can’t recommend Brian enough for any type of event.

I’d book Brian again in a heartbeat, I just need another good excuse. He came for my son Charlie’s 5^th Birthday Party. Booking via email was very straightforward and the presentation was brilliant. Brian was very professional, entertaining, informative and sensitive to any concerns and nervous guests, almost everyone got up close in the end! I was amazed at how hands on the experience was, with these gorgeous, gentle creatures, and so fun to see my husband cuddling with Bingo, a 50 pound python (hope I have that right)! Even my curious little 2 year old was able to join in.
This is really different and something really special that we’ll remember forever, especially the birthday boy.

Brian came to our son’s 9^th birthday party to show his snakes. At first, we were all tentative however after his exceptional presentation and within less than an hour everyone in attendance (both kids and adults) were holding snakes without supervision with huge smiles on their faces. It was an amazing experience and one that our family will not soon forget. I would recommend this for kids of all ages!

Brian Gundy (For Goodness Snakes) is an incredible reptile (and overall animal) enthusiast, and all around person. I HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to purchase a snake talk to this expert breeder before anyone else — especially before going to a pet store. We also threw the best birthday party EVER thanks to Brian.
We had Brian host our son’s 8^th birthday party and it was pretty much the most incredible day of his life as well as the lives of all the second graders who joined him. I would call Brian the snake whisperer… for some reason snakes and reptiles don’t bite or get scared in his presence, and he puts a room at ease (which took twice as much effort for me)…every child and adult at the party had a snake around their neck at one point.
Since my son has been obsessed with snakes for several years — and asking for one daily, we finally caved in and let my son have a pet snake. For some reason we had forgotten about Brian Gundy as a breeder and impulsively ran to the nearest pet store as soon as we had made the big decision. We purchased a Ball Python. This snake was a nightmare — it bit my son and would charge and strike at the glass of the cage non-​stop — for example, if you so much as walked into the room. We called Brian out of desperation.
Brian came over to our house (from Campbell to Palo Alto) out of the goodness of his heart to help us. He gave us the education and many tips we needed. At the end of the day, the snake had most likely been captured in the wild and was just extremely shy/​scared and was never going to make a good pet for my son. He was devastated. My husband and I eventually decided we needed to give the python over to a rescue center (the store will not take it back).

We then decided to give it one more shot. We went to Brian’s house and he spent over 2 hours with him — he was letting my son hold just about every snake in the place before we decided on the baby boa constructor. We were thoroughly educated on the differences between ball pythons and boa constrictors and know we made the right choice for my son. I have never seen my son so happy and the boa (who he named «Leslie» because (it’s Brian’s middle name… sorry Brian hope you don’t mind my sharing) is comfortable, happy and just so calm in her new home. Despite my fear of snakes, I would actually call her «lovable».
Brian, you are our hero! We recommend anyone interesting in buying any animal go with a breeder who can educate you.

This show is Fun & Educational! He came to my nephew Max’s 9^th Birthday Party and we all had a blast. First, Brian educated us on the types of snakes he had with him, Then went over the Do’s and Don’ts of snake handling. DO NOT SQUEEZE A SNAKES HEAD. They don’t like that. [I’ll remember that :-)]
Finally he brought out ALL the Snakes to handle freely. It was awesome to get a hands on experience with all the reptiles. I’m really not a snake kinda girl but i had loads of fun! Definetly a memorable experience. Thanks Brian!

FGS did a great job at my daughter’s 6^th birthday! Provided lots of information and all of the kids had an opportunity to hold the reptiles. Would definitely recommend them!
