After reading the reviews, I just had to try this place. First things first… It’s located on the premises of a stock auction. Consequently, their is a slight odor of what some of us might call money while others(townies) call it cow shit. The atmosphere is exact what you’d expect from a cattle yard café. It caters to ranchers, not Californians. It’s divey but clean and the service comes with a smile. The gal suggested the French dip and cheese soup. Both were very good. The meat was thick cut and home made. The cheese and vegy soup was also home made… Very good. If you are used to eating stuff out of cans and plastic wrappers you aren’t going to like it here. Good solid effort on the food, excellent server and a great Idaho country vibe. I’d recommend this to anyone who values old school thinking. If you’re afraid to get a little cow shit on your shoes, better drive on by or put some bag balm on yer titties.

We love this place… it’s family and basic, but the food doesn’t disappoint. The BLT is absolutely perfect every time. The burgers and omelets are great, too. Yes, it is at a livestock market… yes, it’s noisy, and, yes, you could wear sandals if you’d like but that’s like wearing high heels out golfing… maybe not the best choice. This livestock auction and the café are an integral part of this valley. We’re so glad they are both here. We’re also so glad we can get a coffee and a real BLT, or finger steaks, or a slice of pie, while we do business at the auction. This place is the real thing. Come on down…

The food is OK, but the smell is horrible! It’s attached to this sort of auction hall type thing for cows an possibly other livestock. Walking to the bathroom I had to constantly be aware of where I stepped so as not to get dry cow poo bits in my sandals. Maybe it’s just because I’m from CA but this place was a little to intense for me.
