Best Western Plus Caldwell Inn & Suites

Lynn checked us in, she was friendly, fun and took my husbands sense of humor and returned it in kind. The hotel was clean and so was the room. The bed was on the hard side which my husband liked not me — but not bad. Breakfast offerings were varied and good will definitely recommend

The room is clean and breakfast buffet is decent. Nothing fancy but decent. There is a good size indoor pool and spa. Will definitely come back.

We paid extra for the suite; room 202. There were stains all over the carpet that looked like dog urine marks. The door to the bathroom is clunky and in the way; they needed a slider in that place not a giant door that bangs into the toilet. I did not do the powdered egg and high fat breakfast. The VERY best part was the pool. I went down at 9am and had a wonderful swim completely uninterrupted and alone. The water temp was about 83 – 84 degrees. Fantastic hence the extra star.

The grounds outside the Best Western Plus hotel in Caldwell, Idaho were manicured, freshly watered, with a backdrop of mountains. The desk staff appeared friendly and efficient, and coffee was available twenty fours a day. Yet none of this supplanted the smell in room 225.
My room was a designated pet friendly room, but the odor was not cat or dog. It was an unspecified, nauseating aroma which made me wonder if someone had been murdered in there. I stopped down at the desk to complain, and the clerk said, «Oh it’s probably the air conditioning. They haven’t been run for awhile.» She sent someone up to spray the vents, which helped for about five minutes, but the foul stench returned.
The hotel was booked solid, so there were no more rooms available. By now the desk clerk gave me a look as if my problem was petty. I retrieved Febreeze from my car and sprayed every fabric surface, including carpets, which is how I found two small pieces of poop from a previous visit. This was after the clerk claimed, «we shampoo the carpets after every pet visit.»
I’ve traveled the globe many times over, in accommodations of varying levels of comfort, and I have never slept in a room with a stench such as this. The malodorous smell was familiar, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I opened the window all the way and ran the fan on high and attempted slumber. Around midnight it hit me; the room reeked of dead mouse. At work a dead mouse had once gotten caught in the coils of the staff room refrigerator, and this was the same odor.
The desk people appeared sympathetic in the morning when I checked out of my room after only four hours or so of fitful sleep. The girls at the desk noted it, and said the manager would contact me, but I have not heard from the hotel’s staff, so I am writing to you to voice my dissatisfaction with this hotel. Best Western Plus exemplifies a higher standard.
Two days prior to my visit in Caldwell I had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Plus in Cheyenne, Wyoming. That one earns a five star review. Caldwell, however, barely eeks out one star.
I understand pet friendly rooms present a special challenge, but not only did I pay the room rate, I was charged an additional twenty-​five dollars for a room in which neither my pets nor I were able to rest comfortably. Your advertisement claims to have the «most industry rewards of any hotel brand,» but apparently that only applies to some of your hotels. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

It is clean staff is friendly rooms are a bit out dated. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite, it has two queens and the jacuzzi tub is in the room and not the bathroom since we were traveling with our kids the tub was not used. Also there maybe electrical issues the fire alarm was set off and then lost power in the early morning/​middle of night. All issues were handled asap.

Your average Best Western. It’s been updated since the last reviews. It has a flat screen T.V., microwave, mini fridge, and heat/​air control, like I stated before, very standard. The bed felt very clean, and I usually am grossed out at the thought of hotel beds but these were nice. The lady at the front desk was very home-​town sweet. I would recommend you stay here:)

Motorcycle friendly. ASKED me to park next to the front door so they could keep an eye on it. Booked online while at a nearby café getting dinner. Fifteen minutes later when I checked in they had all my info and checked in quickly. Rooms where fresh and smelled nice. Bathrooms clean. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Service was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again.

I don’t know why the reviews are so high on this place. We booked a room here through
. They said the special was $ 75 normally $ 235. When we checked in, there was no way these rooms would ever rent for $ 235 a night. Room was standard and dated. It would have been decent for $ 50 a night. I do have to say that customer service was amazing (3^rd star for customer service). When we asked the front desk how much it would be to upgrade rooms, we shared our discontent with the $ 235 room :) and they upgraded us to a 2 room suite for free. It was nice having the additional living room as I get up early and don’t want to wake anyone up. A+ to customer service. Another great thing is pool and spa are open 24 hours unlike most hotels who close their pools at 11pm or so. It was nice swimming late with no one around. I read another review that raved about their breakfast. It was average at best. It was very nice to have access to coffee and ice tea all day long. They have some nice things going for them but don’t be fooled by
or any other specials. Rooms are worth standard going rates of about $ 75.

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in my day, and this one does it right. I have basic criteria these days, and they are in order of importance:
1) Dog Friendly
2) Continental breakfast
3) Less than $ 80 a night
Now this criteria obviously just applies to places that I need to «crash» and not vacation type destinations. I become more demanding as the amount of time spent at the hotel increases! :)
Best Western Plus in Caldwell is a really clean, open, and surprising hotel just outside Boise. There was a $ 5 pet fee for our two labs, which is really a steal (non refundable). Upon checkin I was delightfully presented with many wine and beer choices at the front desk… AWESOME! They sell it right there and can charge it to your room if you like. They provide you with GLASS wine glasses, and you are on your way. Delightful after 12 hours of driving in snow, ice, sleet, crap conditions!
The room was very big. King size bed was comfortable and felt new, TV was new, and there was no signs of aging to the room at all. Odor was that of a normal clean hotel room.
The continental breakfast is where this location really shines… waffle machines, biscuits and gravy (quality kind being made in the back not poured from a can), scrambled eggs, sausage links, cereal, fruit, various yogurts, toasts, bagels, muffins. … I’m getting hungry right now!
They do have a 24 hour indoor pool and hot tub that we did not use, but looked very nice.
Next time I’m in this part of the country, I will definitely stay here. The value was really good, and being a dog friendly place was such a plus!

Stayed one night here. Staff really friendly. I used a Unilocal deal and that worked out smoothly. The room and lobby very clean. This is our hotel of choice when visiting Caldwell

This was our base camp for side trips to Leslie Gulch and the Caldwell Night rodeo. Very nice people and very clean. Free WiFi and hot buffet breakfast included.

Nice front desk! 24hr hot tub, clean rooms and close to hwy84. Oh and pet friendly!

This hotel was awesome. Customer service was on point Linda specifically. They have 24 hr pool which I have never heard so that was pretty cool hanging out and catching up with family. They also have a BBQ area near the lobby with a koi pond. Super cute and nice for a Best Western. The rooms were clean and had alot of room to move around. My cousin’s wedding was held there in the banquet room. Not a very large space but perfect for a smaller wedding or party. I would definitely return!!!

For $ 80 this was a fabulous stay. There’s absolutely nothing to complain about — immaculately clean and spacious rooms (could not find a speck of dust), plenty of amenities, great pool and tub, friendly laidback service, beer sold in the lobby (a pleasant surprise that made the stay a lot more fun :), really comfortable bed and linens, perfect shower, etc etc. Lots of restaurants in the area as well. I would definitely stay here again.

I always stay here when in Caldwell. The people are friendly and they have a continental breakfast. Indoor pool + hot tub is great! It’s also open 24 hours. They have a gym available as well. Its easy to gind and close to the highway. If you have to come to Caldwell you should definitely stay here!!! :)

Much better than the Meridian Best Western. Pool, hot tub, small workout area and good breakfast buffet. Perkins Diner next door and just off the freeway. Great hotel for the price. Ask for Corporate pricing.

One of the nice places to have guests stay in Caldwell. Having had two wedding in the last couple of years, trying to find a place for out of town guest to stay has been a must. Rooms are clean quiet and are close to other services and the freeway. If you are traveling through the Caldwell-​Boise area… A nice quiet place to stop and rest.
