History

Established in 2012.

BrooklynBowWow LLC has been happily walking the dogs of Bushwick and Ridgewood since January 2012.

In that time we have grown from a team of two, to opening our very own dog daycare, while maintaining a personal, neighborhood-​oriented walking service that provides daily relief, exercise, and social interaction without pack walks. Our dog daycare is brand new to Bushwick and is already providing fun and safe daycare and boarding experiences to dogs in our community!

Our base rate has not changed since we opened, and many customers have seen their rates go down substantially!

We are fully insured and bonded, and hire employees with animal care experience, who work stable, regular routes that pay a fair wage.

Brooklyn Bow Wow made my vacation 100x more relaxing. I received texts everytime someone came to walk and feed her, making me feel much more comfortable about being away. My dog has some separation and anxiety issues and the dog walkers handled her beautifully. Was trying them out to see if they were an okay fit but they turned out to be a great one. Having a dog in NY is not easy, having BBW around helps a ton. Thanks guys!

I started bringing my young pit bull mix to Brooklyn Bow Wow for daycare shortly after we adopted him at about 6 months of age. At the time we were still working on cementing basic commands and channeling his boundless energy but he had a long, long way to go. Mitch was not intimidated the by challenge my rambunctious pit posed and he and his attentive staff went above and beyond by working directly with our pup to help him manage his excitement and play nicely while he is at daycare. It’s been hugely reassuring to know that he is not only in good hands, but that he’s getting the attention and discipline he needs at this age. We tried other facilities that left the dogs largely to their own devices and this is definitely not the case at Brooklyn Bow Wow. I can happily say our pup is now exponentially calmer and better behaved than when we first took him to Brooklyn Bow Wow, thanks in large part to the efforts of Mitch and his staff!

Brooklyn Bow Wow is the absolute best! Mitch and his awesome staff went above and beyond to help me with my troubled pup, and words cannot express how THANKFUL I am for everything they have done. When my dog developed some serious food aggression, we feared the worst. After spending a couple of weeks with Mitch, and his amazing crew, my dog is now well socialized, calm, and well behaved. Trainer Mark Bennet and his services were also useful and should not be overlooked. Overall Mitch and his staff are trustworthy, reliable, but most importantly patient. I highly recommend BBW to anyone!

If you are looking for a trustworthy, dependable dog walker or daycare/​pet-​sitting services in their service area, GO WITH BROOKLYN BOW WOW! They are a great local business and are involved in the community. We have been working with Bow Wow for the past 3 ½ years and they are amazing. Their business is well-​managed and they’re able to accommodate short-​notice requests and cancellations, which is a blessing for people with unpredictable work schedules. They walk our dogs pretty much every weekday. All the walkers are fully trained and vetted, and they have all the proper information about our pets, their sensitivities and their treat routines! We get an update text after each walk with the necessary potty information and any other relevant details. We’ve also used the daycare service (and the grooming!) when we’ve been traveling and it is so convenient and wonderful. They keep the place very clean and unlike other daycares, it doesn’t smell like dog pee! Our pups have a great time (we get pics and can check in on the webcam) and we don’t have to worry at all since we know they’re in such good hands.

we’ve been getting our dog walked by Brooklyn Bow Wow for a few years now. Mitch and his team are the best! they truly care for our dog and are dependable. our dog is quite demanding as well since he requires several pill times a day along with the usual dog walk and sometimes feeding. also, if we are out of town for the weekend or on vacation, I trust the folks at Brooklyn Bow Wow to stay at our place to take care of our dog, cat, and fish. This is long time overdue, but being a single mom of 3 kids, and being a pet parent to 5 animals gets hectic, and time is just never there.
With this said, to begin with I would like to say THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART to Mitch, and the entire staff of BBW for not only saving my sanity in a dire time of need, but also for helping me save the comfort, and quality of life of my 3 dogs.
I don’t want to write an essay, but my situation was complicated, messed up, and if it wasn’t for BBW, Mitch’s patience, his staff dedication, and overall LOVE FOR ANIMALS at BBW, my 3 dogs would have ended up in a shelter. And, we all know what that means in NYC.
MITCH, and his staff took care of my dogs for over a month. Two of them were boarded in the facility, for the third (an older, alpha dog, who wouldn’t do well in a group setting, and has acute dermatitis that needs constant care) BBW offered at home boarding option with one of their AMAZINGLY DEDICATED employees (I am embarrassed to admit I forgot her name… pretty sure it was Dena, but please correct me if I’m wrong).

MY DOGS WERE NOT ONLY WELL TAKEN CARE OF, THEY LEARNED THINGS (specifically little rascal Tucker).
I was a foster parent for Tucker (rat terriet/​chihuahua mix). The dog came into my house at barely 3mo old, from a shelter in Kentucky, terrified, with signs of abuse. I adopted him because I didn’t believe anyone would be able to deal with his constant barking, tearing things apart, complete denial of any training techniques I knew… etc. I could deal with the aftermath, that’s what I do, he was actually happy with my other dogs, so… he stayed.
MITCH, after the time at BBW, Tucker doesn’t bark anymore… uncontrollably, or for no reason. He is a dog, he will always bark, but you guys taught him to use his voice PROPERLY.
Ginger, Chula, and Tucker are safe and sound in Jersey City, they have a yard, they have a parent with a job that can afford to buy holistic, organic food for them. Or cook for them once in a while. They have their feline family members back at home.
NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE IF I DIDN’T HAVE THE PEACE OF MIND THAT BBW GAVE ME LAST SUMMER.

I highly recommend Brooklyn Bow Wow! When my husband and I went away to France for 10 days, Mitch and Krystle were there to walk our pup Gigi to the doggy park every other day for playtime. They texted us a short report after each walk, as well as sent us images of our girl. We always felt comfortable and safe that our doggy was taken care of by such lovely people. (Krystle also played with our ferrets, and took the sweetest pictures to send us, reassuring that our little ones are being given love!) Thank you so much guys, I am so happy that I found you :) I will come back to you time after time!!!

Am mixed leaving this review as I really liked my regular dog walker and in general, Bow Wow Wow was fine. However, twice in a row they forgot to feed my dog when asked, the second time resulting in him not eating for 24 hours. There was no explanation, apology and after the second time, I had to stop using them.

The owner, Mitch, is extremely rude. He was bad mouthing other dog walkers and doggy day care services in the neighborhood while at our local dog park. When I brought my dogs in for doggy day care, at his recommendation (everything else in the neighborhood is poorly run according to Mitch) the place was subpar and the employees were rude as well. If you can’t treat me with respect, I can’t trust you with either of my dogs. I’m actually shocked at the number of five star reviews on here.

Mitch is great, he’s always there and a super nice guy. They seem to care about the dogs as opposed to just letting them sit there and do nothing at doggie daycare. Walks and daycare are priced well, and our dog walker gives us an update when he walks the beast. Can’t recommend them enough.

Can’t say enough about this group. I’m moving out of Bushwuck tomorrow and I have to say that the next dog walkjng company we use had big shoes to fill. I have been using this service since I got my puppy 5 months ago. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the level of service. Mitch came to our apartment to screen Harpo and he was very professional and laid back. My gf and I immediately felt reassured that our little guy was good hands. The very next day Harpo started his daily walk, Monday thru Friday. Justin is his current walker and he’s great with Harpo. He sends me a confirmation text after every walk and let’s me know on rare occasion if Harpo only did half «his business.» Eventually we started him on group walks. My fiancé and I could definitely see Harpo’s improvement on the leash within just a couple weeks, thanks to Justin. Their daycare abd boarding is such a bargain too.

I recently brought my 5yr old border collie, Lemon to finally get some proper training and all I can say is, Mark is amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely patient with my dog, as well as the others in the class; you can clearly tell he just really loves the dogs and cares about sharing his knowledge. His training has not only helped my dog become well behaved, but it’s also helped me become a better dog owner by being more in tune with her. This was a great experience and I truly appreciate everything my dog and I have learned so far.

I can not believe it took me so long to write this review considering how important this service is to me, Brooklyn bow wow rocks! I have used their dog walking services for the last year and a half and I’m so happy with the service. My walker Brad is great. He always sends the funniest texts messages to me letting me know how the walk went with my dog Petey. Brad has dog/​house sat for me when I’ve been out of town and I’ve always felt secure having him watch over my precious frenchie. Mitch is terrific with accommodating my ever changing schedule and responding to my emails. I like be the fact they do social walks so my dog has the chance to interact with other dogs as well.

The owner, Mitch, is very friendly. Very professional, he likes to get to know the dogs, and the owners!
The location is very convenient and the hours are very flexible, they open early and close late, which is great for people like me who is a full time student and work.
There are very many different dogs there, varying from small and big dogs, which is great because some dogs would be cuddling and other dogs will be running around and playing!
My dogs (2 english bulldogs) love it there, they are excited to go in the morning, they come home at night absolutely tired which is great because I don’t have to feel bad for not playing with them when I have work to do!

BEST COMPANY EVER!!!
I am so elated that I live in their serviced area! I have yet to use the day care but I have been using the walking service! They have never had a problem scheduling a walk — whether it be planning a week before or a last minute request! Mitch is always prompt in responding — even late in the night!
I really can’t say enough. My English Mastiff puppy loves her walkers and I love that she gets experiences with new places, dogs and people!
