Adam first started his work as a tailor in 1965. In Burlingame at the current location Adam’s Fine Tailoring started in 1985. Since then, Adam has been delivering quality alterations as quickly as his customers need them, even for customers who need them on the same day. Adam is dedicated to helping his customers make the most out of their wardrobe.

Adam’s fine Tailoring does alteration on clothing for men, women, and children. Adam’s extensive knowledge and experience about altering shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, jackets, suits, and outerwear will provide you with expert tailoring, from minor clothing alterations to complicated custom recut or restyle wedding gowns.

On two occasions I engaged this tailor to customize a suit and a pair of pants. His upbeat attitude was refreshing and the fact he keeps a organized shop were key indicators he was my kind of business person.

I had a pair of pants that needed fixing on short notice while I was in the area on an overnight in a local hotel. I called him up and he said come on down and he fixed me up in about a half an hour. Nice guy and great work. Really helped me out on short notice.

I had my suit tailored here. It wasn’t a simple job at all with both the jacket and slacks getting some major alterations. Adam was helpful, personable and did a great job overall. You can tell he has years of experience.
Only drawback is it’s a little more expensive than your average store that does alterations. The quality of work does show where the money went. Highly recommended.

Adam is a tailor’s tailor. He can do everything from shortening pants, to altering dresses, to making bespoke shirts and suits. I brought him a pair of royal blue Gap capris that I bought in August, which had varying pant lengths. I asked for them to be shortened further and if we could add a cuff. They came out perfectly. He passed the test, and I knew he would be my new tailor.
Twenty pairs of pants, three suit jackets, six button-​up shirts, and one dress later, and I am transformed, tailored, and happy — albeit a little lighter in the pocketbook.
Adam hails from Turkey, which as most of you know, is the birthplace of modern day textiles, so you know he knows what he’s doing. Sure, he’s adoringly bumbley and not always 100% organized, but he takes pride in his work, stitches hems by hand, and is always ready with a smile.
If your outfit is inexpensive, don’t bring it here. But if you need pieces to last for years, or for a special occasion, this is the place for you… Says the girl with a 29 ½ inseam, a workplace dress code, and two special events per year.

I took a pair of jeans in to get hemmed. Although Adam (I’m guessing that’s his name) was friendly, his broken English made it difficult for me to understand what he was saying. Additonally, his prices are much higher than I expected. $ 24 for a regular hem is the highest I’ve ever seen anywhere (including New York and Los Angeles). I usually pay around that for an original hem.
He did an OK job, but I don’t think I’ll be going back based on the prices.
Pros: Friendly service and quick turnaround.
Cons: Pricing.

I had to get my blazer done within a day or two before my meeting and this place is great! It had a homey feel to it, which allowed me to be at ease with the environment. The service was efficient and fast. Although it is somewhat pricier than other places, the quality here is superb and reliable! I would rather pay more than risk having my stuff messed up, so this place gets the job done from what I had thought walking in!

Excellent work.
I have had him alter two formal dresses for me years apart from each other and both came out absolutely perfect. Worth the money, especially for things like weddings or other important events where the garment cannot be risked in order to save a few bucks.

I have been going to Adam now for nearly 16 years. Over 35 suits later, I can say he is the only tailor I will use. He is the best, and a very kind gentleman to boot. I now live some 20 – 25 minutes away from his store, but it’s worth the trip. Exceptionally detailed work, fast, and he nails every suit I bring him on the first shot. He really knows how to make you look good in your clothes.

For the past 2 years I’ve been going to adams fin tailoring; he is one of the best tailors I know in the bay area! He altered an old coat that was given from grand mother which was in a bad condition. He made it into a brand new coat! I was amazed by his work, and now I can pass this down to my kids in the near future:) if you own something so precious and do not want throw it away, go to Adam’s fine tailoring, you won’t regret it!

I’ve been going to Adam for almost 10 years now. I’ve had not one, but 3 bridesmaid dresses tailored by him and every time they have fit me just to the T! I felt so strongly about recommending him that I signed up on Unilocal so I could let others know how wonderful he is!
I now live in San Francisco and tried to find a tailor that would be as good as he is, but after going to someone who cost the same and spent literally 10 minutes with me, I went back to Adam. He spent over an hour pinning my dress and getting it just right. You know when someone devotes that much time from the get-​go that they have a strong sense of pride and care for their work. As always, he made me look like a million bucks in my dress. The next week I brought in the bride to have her dress worked on as well!
Yes, Adam is on the more expensive side, but when you want something special done perfectly, his work is absolutely worth it!

Got a suit, a few shirts and a coat altered by Adam. He’s a very nice guy, friendly in every way and does all alterations by hand. The only problem is, the cost. A bit on the expensive side, but I guess it needs to be priced that way to pay the Burlingame rent.
