Spa Élysée is more than just a nail salon — it is a beautiful place for relaxation, and a place to hang out with friends, family, or your significant other! Our space is light and airy, elegant, but casual. We have great music from Pandora playing all the time. We have recently upgraded our salon with all new pedicure spa chairs and custom manicure tables. You’ll find our techs to be friendly and welcoming. Each one has years if not decades of experience. We are recognized by the county of San Mateo as a Healthy Nail Salon — employing the best practices to sanitize our tools and work areas as well as protecting the health of our workers with hospital grade materials. We use only nail polishes free of formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals. In addition, we have an $ 800 ventilation system that we use when doing acrylics, so you will never smell chemical fumes floating in the air.

We specialize in nails (mani-​pedis, shellac, acrylics) and waxing (eyebrows/​lip, bikini, Brazilian), and results-​oriented facials. Formerly Kim’s Perfect Skin, Spa Élysée is committed to bringing you the best skin care products and techniques from France and the United States. Founder and master esthetician Kim Pham employs the latest advances in bio-​medical innovations and equipment. Together with her 25 years of international skin expertise, she will give you the tools and knowledge to become your own skin care «expert» at home through her superb home skin care therapy program.

I was born in Vietnam but left the country since 1969 for Paris to continue my education in business and esthetics with the famous Carita Skin Care Institute and received my CIDESCO certificate in England — the highest international skin care diploma judged by the international board. I returned to the US to continue my career after working with lots of well known skin care salons in department stores like I MAGNIN and Liberty house. I opened my own studio in 1976 and worked in San Francisco for 10 years. I later moved to the company to Burlingame. My passion drives me to travel all over the world, finding the most advanced new discoveries that I can customize and educate my clients for the best result oriented products and treatments.

I was in desperate need of a mani/​pedi as my baby shower is tomorrow (6⁄11) and it had been quite some time since I got both. Usually I would just do it myself but it’s a little hard to do my toes with a big olé eight month preggo belly! I came here based on a recommendation from a co-​worker (Thank you, Sonya!) and I am so glad I took her suggestion!
Making an appointment was a breeze! I actually made the appointment on Thursday afternoon for Friday morning, 10:00AM appointment — right when they open. Getting here was also a breeze! Helen did my shellac mani and Karen did my shellac pedi. They both were absolutely wonderful and I loved that they use plastic coverings in the pedi chairs! I also love that they asked me if I wanted another coat for both colors since the colors I picked were very light — mint for my toes and a nude for my nails. They were quick but paid attention to detail. There are no bubbles, missed spots, etc.
I had a great experience and tipped well as I previously stated, these feet needed some love badly! Thank you Helen, Karen and Spa Elysee! You have definitely gained a new customer.

I’m sorry but this was the worst manicure I’ve ever gotten. The lady (Jessica) was nice enough but she paid absolutely no attention to detail, or just didn’t care. See my photos.
My nails were left with rough edges, uneven polish, and she painted over the rough leftover cuticles left at the base of my nails after they were trimmed. A small piece of lint got into the polish on my index finger while she was painting and when I pointed it out to her she wiped off the wet polish with a paper towel, and then immediately started painting over it again WITHOUT replacing the base coat. She didn’t seal the tips of my nails with polish. She painted all the way over the edges of my nails, over my skin too. The whole job was just rushed (took about 15 min total) and beyond sloppy. Even a novice such as myself could do much better than what she did. Very disappointed, but maybe that’s what you get for a $ 15 manicure here ($ 20 with tip). Other ladies seem to love this place and have a totally different experience, I saw several women come in and get greeted by name. I am very puzzled.

Today was my first time and I got my eyebrows waxed and lip waxed because Kim recommended it. Kim is so sweet and very nice! she was right of recommended me getting my lips waxed because I was happy with the result my brows turned out really good too. I will definitely come back again for waxing! :)

Oh my god, I don’t know why there isn’t a decent nail salon in the peninsula. I came in here with such high hopes because of all the good reviews. My massage that I paid $ 10 extra for was cut short (she probably didn’t know I was paying attention to the time) and my nail polish came out so UNEVEN! First of all, I hate when they say they use shellac when they use some knock off version which is probably why the paint it so bad. Second, she knows the paint job was uneven and did nothing about it because they were closing in 10 minutes and probably just wanted to go home. I’m never coming back here again. If you want a killer gel mani and pedi go all the way to Sensi in SF it’s so much more worth the extra $.

If you haven’t had a facial here, you are missing out! I have been seeing Kimberly for Hydradermie Guinot facials with galvanic and microcurrent. She has a great touch and she knows what she’s doing. She is very knowledgeable and will recommended facials for your specific skin type.
My face always feels radiant and lifted when I leave and the results last! Thank you Kimberly!

I chose this salon because of their work with healthy and ethical nail salon organizations (clean conditions, fare wages, etc), and have been coming here regularly for pedicures ever since. It’s very pleasant, everyone is really nice, and it feels clean. The prices are reasonable, and they do a really good job. Thanks to the Spa Elysee team!

I normally try a place three times before reviewing, but I know I will not return so I decided to review. I really wanted to like this place, the work is average but the ladies are so nice.
First time I went I had a pedi and gel mani done. It wasn’t stellar, but it wasn’t terrible. Small selection of polishes, but the colors were pretty and seasonal. They do clip the sides of your nails which isn’t best practice, but it was too lat for me to correct. Gel manicure was done timely and no machine was used. They do try to use a machine on your feet and I as able to stop them before they started.
Today, was a different story. They did up sell me to an additional 10 minute massage during the pedicure. It was not worth the $ 10 and that was not communicated in advance, but that was not the deal breaker for me. They completed a manicure portion and then wait until the pedicure is done to start the gel polish. Normally no big deal, the technician waited a bit for me but was soon directed to begin someone else’s pedicure. I waited and waited a bit longer and then decided I should leave. I understand that may sound harsh, but it made me feel that I was expected to wait until the new client was completed — with so many nail spas in the area I was supposed. The pedicure was subpar today and polish is extended beyond the nails and was not cleaned.
In short, I’m sadly disappointed. I guess I’ll be looking for the right shop for me.
Hopefully, they will give better service in the future.

I came here for the first time for a pedicure last week. I was really looking forward to it after a stressful couple of months and was a little disappointed with the results. My pedicure started out nicely with a great massage, but once the salon became busy it felt rushed. I am able to see the nail polish lines created by the first and second coat of polish, and developed two blisters caused by too much buffing.
The staff was friendly. I might give it one more try before considering another nail salon.

So disappointed. Came in today for my very first bikini wax and was attended by Jessica. I thought that because I let her know that it was my very first bikini wax that she would be gentle and would make me feel comfortable. But really I felt ignored and rushed when there was just one customer besides me. Told her to give me just a second before she could continue waxing and all she would do was move my hand away and do whatever.
Also, I noticed that the waxing room wasn’t very clean, there was hair on the floor and Jessica kept double dipping and reusing the straps.
Sad to say that I won’t be coming back, ever. I would rather go somewhere else where they make me feel welcomed and at ease.

Somehow my simple mani pedi eyebrow threading turned into the extra 10 minute leg/​foot/​hand/​arm/​shoulder massage with an eyebrow dye. Not complaing though because it felt wonderful and it’s been a long time since I treated myself. Besides Jessica’s job on my eyebrows was fab! I’ll be coming into see her regularly from now on.

I came here for the first time on Mother’s Day. My sister and I brought my mom for her first mani /​pedi experience. For the most part, it was ok. The salon is a nice, open space and clean. The ladies who did our nails were really sweet. The problem was that they rushed us through. I even had to ask to sit for a second with the air dryer so I could let my nails dry, as they had me leave the chair to make room for their next appointment. All the while one customer was there getting her pedicure before we arrived and just starting her manicure as we were leaving. They should have had more nail technicians working on such a busy Sunday.
The quality of my mani /​pedi is ok. I can see the two different coat lines on some nails. My sister, however, had half her nail chipped the next day and one of her fingers ended up infected, probably from when they were rushing the cuticle area. My mom was happy with the experience, but I think that had more to do with the three of us being together. For the amount we paid, I would expect better quality.

Very nice and clean mani pedi. Jessica and karen were awesome, they take the time to ask you your name and tell you theirs in a very clear voice which I appreciate. Yes their colors are a little lacking but they use a really great shiny top coat which I’ve never seen another salon use. Both foot and arm massage were relaxing and appropriately pressured.
Everything feels Clean and looks a lot nicer than a lot of the other spas in the area. It was well lit too which is something I don’t come across much. I hope to take advantage of one of their facials sometime
I really like going into a salon and popping in my ear buds and having the staff understand I’m occupied therefore not into small chat and they did that here! So many points for that
They asked me to pay and take out my keys from my purse before painting my hands, that was very thoughtful
I believe the owner was who applied my nail polish and she took her time to fix any mistakes

Bummer. I chose this from all the reviews were so good. If you are NOT a regular, they just squeeze you in and rush you through. I was looking forward to a really nice relaxing, thorough pedicure as I have been traveling for 5 months in Southeast Asia and really needed a pampering. This is not the place if you want to relax. So disappointed.

I don’t go to a salon for regular mani/​pedis because I do them myself. I am pretty picky about who does my nails when I do get them done and am more likely to get pedicures if anything. I have been going to this salon for at least 10 years and they are great. Always professional, clean and they remember your name when you come in, even if it’s been more than a few months. They do book up quickly so it’s best to call first. Although I have walked in on the occasional Sunday and they have been able to take me. Kim the owner is always so put together and really knows her stuff. She really takes pride in her business and she strives to offer the best customer service.

I was in town last weekend and I couldn’t go back home without getting a facial from Kim. I got a few new Biologique Recherché products… but best of all was Biologique’s new Microlab puncture facial! It’s sooo incredible! I am amazed that Kim has the new machine, but no one in LA near me has it yet. My face was red for the first day but after that, it’s wonderful. Can’t wait until our next San Jose trip so I can get another facial. Thanks Kim!

Very clean procedures for Pedicure. My Nail Tech did an amazing and thorough job! I would have given this place five stars, except I saw a facial wax being done and the waxer double dips the same stick in the wax pot! Not good :-/

I have been going to the same nail place for the past 8 years but they have been slacking a bit in quality so i decided to give in and try a new place that my mom is always gushing about. this place was amazing. from the quality of the work to the atmosphere to the employees. this is definitely my new place.

Walk-​in mani-​pedi for $ 35. Best. Deal. Ever. My friend and I forgot to make a reservation to get our nails done on a recent Saturday morning. Oops. We tried going to several other nail salons near Burlingame Ave but no one could squeeze us in. So she suggested this place and we drove over to Broadway, walked in, and were sitting in the massage chairs within minutes soaking our feet. The staff is friendly and they did a great job with our mani-​pedis. Neither of us had thought to ask how much the service would cost so when we were finished and went to pay, we were pleasantly surprised at the value. This might just be our new spot!

Walked in for a manicure on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by a friendly employee and scheduled right away. I only had to wait for a few minutes and the manicure was quick but done very well with attention to detail. I am giving 3 stars because I wanted to get a full gel set but this place only offers acrylic full sets. I went with a gel polish manicure and was very happy with it but I would have preferred that they offer the other service as well.

I have been here twice for a general manicure and have to say it is always a real pleasure! I moved here from NYC to Burlingame two months ago and was in a desperate search for a nail place. I had no idea where to go. I came here to get my Pink/​White tips off and get a general manicure the first time and the manicurist was awesome. She was really sweet and pleasant. Got me refills of my tea! :)
The second time, this past Saturday for a manicure, Kim did my nails and she was awesome! Quick, clean, and polished!
Definitely make an appointment. They get booked up fast because they are great and offer a lot of services.
The staff is very sweet and caring. I definitely recommend this place!

So I’ve been coming here pretty routinely since I moved to Burlingame and have had good experiences until today. I usually see Karen but today I had someone else. Karen has been great.
The new gal had the water running super hot and it burned my right foot enough that I can’t put my foot in the water. Let’s see if my skin calms itself down by the end of my service.
I’ve asked her to leave the burned area alone but she just keeps forgetting and rubbing the spot!
I think this all happened because they seem to be having a busy day… which I can empathize with… just wish I didn’t get burned for it.
I’m giving them two stars (vs. one) since I’ve had a few other good pedicures here.

This was my first time here, i am new to the area and am still looking for a nail spa that can be my regular. The place is quite bright and roomy, not dingy like some other places. Its not «upscale» as mentioned by some people here. Nevertheless, its nice. Their selection of polishes is extremely small. I have a picture of the polish rack with my review. They need to have more polishes to choose from.
My pedicure was done by a lady called Jessica, she was nice. Manicure was done by Sarah. Though, both the manicure as well as the pedicure were nice, it left me feeling like something was missing, it did feel like it was rushed through. I will give them another chance before ruling them out.

Kim’s perfect skin and nails is my favorite place to get my nails done in Burlingame and my favorite place to get my eyebrows waxed — period. If I don’t have time to go to Kim’s I will go without my brow wax.
For some reason this is the only place I’ve been too that doesn’t make me break out after they wax me. Those little bumps and redness framing your eyebrows after you go to some places is NOT a cute look.
