I use the guys to find talent for corporate videos. Their customer service is top notch. The web interface is a little overwhelming at first but once you figure it out you have the power to find the perfect person for your project

NowCasting sold all my pictures to Whyfame which then created a ridiculous profile of me on their website including my name. The only thing NowCasting was ever good for was to send a direct link to someone with my photos, reel and resume. But once I learned how to build my own website I realized NowCasting is completely useless. I was on there for over 5 years and never got one job from it. I used it once to find actors for a project I was casting and the actors had very little experience anyway since anyone can create a profile on there. DO NOT BOTHER. Just create a website with something like

such a waste of time and money. plus they make it impossible to cancel unless you jump through a thousand hoops hoping you exhaust yourself 1^st

I’m a film student and in school we are constantly working on projects that require us to branch out and cast actors. We have tried several casting agencies around Los Angeles and we have had great experiences and a amazing working relation. When it comes to NOW casting that is whole different story. The website is hard to navigate and their user interface is really poor, but what lowers the stars to one is their staff. They are rude and condescending and really don’t know how to behave. In our circle of classes we know to stay way from Now casting, they might not care because we are students but the reality is that the people casting for student projects now are the future filmmakers. Really poor customer service to filmmakers.

You are really waisting your time with this one. Although acting from scratch in la is a waste of time too. But they will take your money and you will get nothing. I would really stay away from this group. There are hardly any casting notices and most castings go to friends of people who work on the shows or films not to this service. Go to the lots and ask the casting people if you want work. Stay away from these jokers.

While it’s been many years since I had to use Now Casting, I would recommend to anyone trying to start a career «from scratch» in LA. Although the mainly offer student films with some rare exceptions, just getting out there and getting some «tape» for your demo reel in crucial.
If memory serves they also offer an option for no fee at all, although you cannot submit yourself for projects.
Make sure you at least start with this company, you may not stay long, but at least it helps get your foot in the door.

I got some of my auditions through nowcasting. not that many though. it’s o.k. if you are starting out. i’ve used it since 2007.

Now casting was great for a while when I felt like doing projects which did not pay me, just to get experience and a demo reel. After a while I found myself in need to get an actual job which paid instead of spending my time auditioning and doing gigs for free. But it’s still a great website for gigs to do when I have some time off of work. Very similar to Actors Access, in fact some of the projects posted here are found on LA Casting and Actors Access as well but Now casting updates their site with new cool stuff which I like and I keep them because of that.

One of a number of such services in the Greater-​Los Angeles area, Now Casting (
) posts audition notices. As such they are okay. I’ve experienced great success with the postings of other services but who can speak to the reason.
Now Casting’s interface is clunky and in my opinion inferior to that of Actor’s Access (
). That said, you can pay month-​to-​month with Now Casting and can stop service at any time which I think is a real plus for Now Casting.
The substantial shortcoming of Now Casting is their list of agent contact information. First, the controls designed to limit your search by various criteria did not work. No matter what settings i put in place, i always got the same 321 agent listings.
Worse though was the reliability of the information. On the order 35% of the agent listings were inaccurate and I know because I visited these places in person.
When these inaccuracies were pointed out to Now Casting, a free month of service (multiple months) was offered (in a very timely manner) if I could document postage loses. Sold, as I was information which proved unreliable, I felt a pro-​rata refund was in order. They disagreed and I discontinued service.
In fairness, Actor’s Access does not even offer agent listings but at least they are not profiting from the sale of faulty information and in so leading consumers toward wasted time, effort and expense.
NET: Postings=just okay. Listings=nearly useless. Customer service=B+ for effort but ultimately inadequate.
RECOMMENDATION: Try
