I am very happy with the service and expertise. David was the fifth HVAC professional to look at my system this month and the only one that figured out the it was a thermostat problem, not a unit problem, that kept the AC from coming on. Fixed it in under 3 minutes. All the others wanted to sell me a new system.

Great to work with. David keeps our outdated heaters running in our apartment buildings. I recommend him highly.

I felt like I received very good service from this company. They showed up on time and fixed the leak that was going on with my my AC unit at what I felt was a reasonable price. They explained the problem was and were in and out within an hour. I would certainly recommend them to a friend.

Was able to make a call, get a quote and have a technician stop by all on the same day, to check a leak in the ceiling suspected to come from faulty HVAC pipes in a condo owned by a friend.
I found them on Unilocal and looking through the mixed reviews decided they were probably decent and took a chance on them.
Turns out it wasn’t HVAC related but the technician figured out what was wrong and although he wasn’t licensed to fix it told me how to do so.
I know same day calls followed by solutions /​repairs are not the norm but I’ll give them 5 stars for making the effort and in the end telling me what needed to get done to solve it.

Receptionist was extremely rude and had no interest in scheduling an appointment for me

They never showed up for 2 scheduled appointments. And when I called them to find out whats going on? Roger the owner said he would part ways and not come to give estimate. So, he can keep his 5 star rating, 53 years in business. Blah Bla bla. These small companies pay people to give them a 5 star rating. I don’t believe anyone to give a company 5 stars unless it’s family or friends.
Beware of the bs.

Fairfax Heating installed a new, central heater after our old one died. They gave me options and we settled on a unit and their pricing was reasonable. They were professional and service was first rate. I highly recommend them.

Great service, professional, punctual and reasonable compared to other quotes I received from other places. Would definately recommend them for heating and A/​C work.

FYI — these guys do not service the Downtown LA area. Odd that they service Echo Park, and Hollywood, but not DTLA.

The female receptionist was uncooperative and completely uninterested in scheduling an estimate to replace an entire ac system. Fortunately other hvac companies are. Don’t even waste your time calling these bozos.

On time, professional, honest. I had a coolant leak and the last company that replaced the coolant six months ago failed to add sealant. All the coolant had leaked back out. Mario and Oscar pressure tested things, quoted a price for sealant and coolant, and when it did not need as much coolant as they had quoted me, they were honest enough to tell me and reduce the quoted price proportionately. My house is now cool again. Very pleased, and understand all the excellent Unilocal ratings. Totally recommended.

Neither our air conditioning nor heat was working properly, and a call from Brody-​Pennell had done no good. The technician couldn’t find anything wrong. (You can read my one-​star review of them on their Unilocal page.) After putting up with no heat or a/​c for a year, I found Fairfax on Unilocal and gave them a call. A few days later, Mario came out and, after checking out our 1999 Carrier unit on the roof, said that the problem was the controller board, which would explain why both a/​c and heat weren’t working. That was on Wednesday. Friday, Fairfax called to say they’d located the part and Mario could come first thing Saturday morning to replace it. He did and also added a pound of freon. Now we are happily enjoying our air conditioning and no longer worried about the dog days of August.

My wife and I live in an 40-​year-​old condo with, until recently, a very creaky, noisy and inefficient air conditioning system. We made the mistake of calling two people before Fairfax Heating & Air Conditioning. One was an associate of a friend who took one look at our system and never called back or returned our calls. The other wanted cash up front– and gave me unwanted advice about conceiving a child (I kid you not).
David Isaac from Fairfax Heating & Air Conditioning was third and my only regret in dealing with him is that we didn’t call him first. He took a look at our AC set up – a battered unit on the roof and one in the ceiling — took measurements and knew what to do. It took time to get the right equipment, but the installation only took two days, with his workers Luis and Oscar quickly discovering why we weren’t getting air into our bedroom– the duct had never been connected to the fan. We had one snafu — the bedroom duct got so cold that it caused condensation to drip from the vent — which was solved within a week. The pricing was upfront and, while not cheap, was definitely fair and David, Luis and Oscar were nothing less than completely professional. I’d recommend these guys in a heartbeat– as I write this on a 90-​degree day, the temperature in my home office is a very comfortable 75 degrees. Thanks guys!

Ahhh that cool breeze feels amazing. After having several hot miserable nights, I realized the temperature in my house was not cooling off even though the AC was running. I looked on Unilocal and made a late call to this business at almost 2pm. They were able to fit me in later in the day. Mario came and assessed the problem quickly finding that my capacitor was not working. He had a replacement on hand and also replaced the filter. Mario was knowledgeable and very nice. I thought the total cost was reasonable for parts and service. Thanks for having my AC up and running before July 4! I definitely recommend this business!

Totally professional and forthcoming from start to finish. Booked a maintenance visit for my condo AC unit as it hasn’t been cleaned in years. It’s a fairly new unit, and Mario took care of the job in under an hour. He was upfront about each step and even took the time to explain stuff to me about the unit, including tips for making it run smoothly. I paid what I had been quoted on the phone, no added fees or extra BS. I felt like this was a really honest operation. Will definitely use them again and recommend to others.

The glowing Unilocal reviews do not lie, folks; Fairfax H & A C rocks. As stated by several reviewers, Mario came out and assessed the problem with courtesy and professionalism. (Turned out I needed a new furnace.) Company owner David then gave me an extremely reasonable estimate. He also told me that the installation might take up to five hours. Fast Forward to Installation Day. Repairmen/​miracle workers Oscar and Luis wound up doing the job in half the time. They were also courteous, considerate and totally professional. Oh, and the new furnace works like gangbusters.
Best for last: After giving them a check for services rendered, Oscar and Luis left, only to return shortly after with a call from David, who informed me that I had overpaid to the tune of – drum roll — two-​hundred-​and-​and-​fifty smackeroos. Color me floored, poleaxed and 250 dollars richer. And above all, mighty pleased.
Needless to say, but I’ll say it anyhow, this company is as good as it gets.

I agree with all the positive Unilocal reviews — Dave is fantastic. My 25 year old air conditioning unit stopped working. He could have easily sold me a new one, but noticed that I hadn’t set the thermostat correctly! Problem fixed.
Dave and his assistant are courteous, neat, professional, on time, easily reachable, and fair and honest.
I cannot give them enough stars.
