I’ve been in this area since 1989. I haven’t needed repairs in many years since I got my engine rebuilt several years ago. I had heard the business had a change of ownership. My neighbor mentioned she was really happy with Craig, the new owner (and long time employee of the former). This location has always been the ‘go to’ place for the neighborhood.
So when my almost 20 year old car made a horrendous noise that I knew could be a real problem, I limped it around the corner. I really didn’t think it would go much further than the one block to his location.
I asked three questions. 1. What do you think sound is? 2. How soon do you think it will break down? 3. What are my options to repair before it goes wrong.
Craig was very good, starting with «Do you have Triple A?»
He explained what it was, and what would happen if I waited until too late. Gave me two options, the lesser removing air conditioning, the more expensive replacing the part.
He had it done in just under three hours. And at less than the estimate. Good guy, very honest and reasonable. He’s a great mechanic.

GREAT SHOP!!! Growing up in the automotive business and being a car enthusiast myself I am especially critical on where I take my cars and who I trust them with. Trust me when I say that Craig is just that guy. He knows his stuff inside and out is friendly and has earned my trust, business and referrals.

I’m sort of a car guy myself, and was looking for a shop to do some work that either I couldn’t do, or just getting too old to do. I was referred to Crabtree by a friend/​coworker. I know two things: Craig knows his stuff, transmissions have been a mystery to me and a genuine trans specialist is like a brain surgeon. Second, I trust Craig so much that I have referred single females to bring their cars in without either myself or someone with basic car knowledge to accompany them. Finding the shop for the first time was a slight challenge because it’s actually behind the Taco Bell, not directly on Magnolia.

This place rocks. Outstanding service at very fair prices. Craig really knows what he is doing and can communicatre it very effectively.

Visiting our daughter and using her 1998 Saturn when the manual shifter broke and locked the car in reverse gear. A neighbor recommended Crabtree and we had the car towed there. When told of the problem Craig reassured me that it was a common problem with Saturns, and that he could do the repairs and have the car back that afternoon. Good as his word the work was done by 5pm, and at a reasonable charge. Being from out of the area and not familiar with a reliable mechanic, Craig at Crabtree was a find.

What can I say… Craig is a mechanical genius. he fixed my father in-​laws Mazda B3000, which had a huge vaccum leak and would not pass smog. While other shops had no idea what to do, he had it fixed quickly.

This is a good place. Larry and Craig have helped fix my family’s cars over the years. Larry found a way to fix my car door even though the car was so old there aren’t parts made for it anymore. He also fixed my car window. Craig got AAA to give me a new battery even though AAA didn’t want to because AAA thought my alternator was bad, although it wasn’t. The mechanics are friendly and trustworthy. They are responsive to phone calls and speak English well. (I think they like to work on transmissions. My 1985 Buick Somerset Regal kept stalling. Anyway, I have a new car now, so hopefully I won’t need as much maintenance…)

Crabtree is the best place ever! Craig has serviced and fixed my families car and they are the only place I trust. I never had to return because it wasn’t done correctly. They bust their butt’s to get it done quickly and they are extremely fair in price. I know they know their stuff. I couldn’t be more happy with this family business. Good people I trust! I agree, GO TO CRABTREE! They will take care of you.

I cannot say enough about Crabtree Automatics. Larry has been working on all of my cars for most of the past 20 years. I was referred to him by my aunt and dad who had been using him a few years before me. I treat my cars horribly and Larry manages to make them run beautifully for a very fair price. Every time someone asks me if I know of a good mechanic I refer them to Crabtree, and all of them are very happy with the results. He also works on more than just transmissions including breaks, alignments, steering, etc etc. If you want a reliable and honest (yes, he’s actually HONEST) mechanic in the valley, consider taking your carry to Crabtree.
