The Nail Boutique

I almost never review business establishments but my pet peeve is waiting unreasonable amounts of time for a beauty service. I’ve been waiting 40 minutes for someone/​anyone to start my pedicure… and I was prompt. I am a resident so I don’t have much time for beauty services. I came off a 24 hour shift this morning and I’ve only slept 3 hours. Owners please respect the time of your patrons. Re: the actually service… they are excellent at what they do.

It’s a very nice salon., but u must get an appointment. I walked in n they were only able to do a fix.

I made an appointment on Wednesday over their website because no body in the Nassau county knows how to do nails and since this place is ten minutes from my fiances job I said why not ! I am so glad I came here, the atmosphere was so laid back, Sabrina the owner did my nails and I felt comfortable the entire time and never felt rushed at all. She finish my full set of nails in an hour and I was blown away. She did a fabulous job and although this place is an hour away, I will definitely be a returning customer. The receptionist who was so nice and funny recommended I book in advance from now on so I highly suggest you do the same !

This review is solely about uv hard gel and customer service.
I called on a Monday to make an appointment for a uv gel fill and was able to get a spot for 3pm on Sunday. I decided to ride my bike from home which took me about an hour since I live near Coney Island. I get there at 3pm on the dot. First time I’m on time for anything. To my dismay the receptionist tells me my appointment was for 3:30pm. I’m almost positive it wasn’t but since I hadn’t confirmed it the day before I couldn’t prove otherwise so I just accepted it. Long story short my technician was grossly running behind schedule and at 4pm I was still waiting. What was disappointing was that I barely got an apology. I know it’s not their problem that I traveled on a bike for an hour. And to be honest even if I’d taken a train it still would have taken me about the same amount of time, since it’s really out of my way. But dang. I’m sitting here for an hour all together with the scheduling mishap (which to be honest I think was a lie) and you can barely muster up an apology to a first time costumer?
I contemplated leaving and heading over to another salon when another technician finally sat down to tend to me. She seemed rushed which I soon found out was because she had to finish a pedicure. Not her fault because I was thrown on her last minute. Anyway… Aside from her nicking my finger a few times with the sander and seeming in a hurry. She did a really good job fixing the terrible job I had done previously at Yukie (please refer to my Yukie Beauty Salon review). The price was more than reasonable and I left the salon happy with my nails. I’m Hoping I’ve found my go to place (crosses fingers).

OK so. I happened to walk by and see sunny who did my nails at the Lewis Avenue location. I decided to make an with her on my next available date correlating with her schedule. I like to peruse the same nail tech if possible. This caused me to cancel my appointment at Lewis Ave to reschedule at Fulton st. Guess what? I arrived to my scheduled appointment and no Sunny. So I ask for her and supposedly she was there earlier today but was sent to Lewis ave. I told the nail tech and the receptionist Sunny was the whole purpose of my appointment at this location. Smh oh well. I wish they would have let me know. I didn’t quite understand it.
The receptionist assured the nail tech was good and not to worry. So I rocked with it.
All and all I enjoyed my mani pedi and glass of wine. since I have been to both locations I prefer Lewis Avenue for its comfy cozy feel.

Love this place so relaxing and everyone is so professional. Of course sangria makes everything better

If I could give this establishment 0 STARS I WOULD. BUT 1 start is the lowest option. The best nail technician that I ever had at the nail boutique was Michelle. I recently found out through a very rude phone conversation with the receptionist that Michelle is no longer working there. I tried going there anyway, despite the phone Conversation, to get serviced by another nail technician, I didn’t bother getting their name because I was completely unsatisfied. It’s so sad because I really love supporting a black own businesses but the atmosphere in there has changed significantly. All three of my friends that I have recommended has all said the same thing, so we will no longer be going to the nail boutique I’d rather go to the VP down the block. Shame… PS Sabrina who is the boutique owner has a terribly nasty attitude.

I’ve been coming here for over 3 years. Even though I moved to Manhattan last May, I only come here to get my nails done. The staff is great and helpful! The services are comparable to other upscale salons. They also serve complimentary drinks with your service. Definitely make an appointment because they are super popular and the wait can be long.

I saw a girl on the train with the illest gel manicure. I could tell it was a week old, but she was still slaying. I use to be a nail technician so I know great nails when I see it. She recommended this place.
When I got there I was impressed of the ambience and cleanliness, but mostly that several of the nail technicians were black women! I have never gotten my nails done by anyone other than an Asian person.
Yollie was my tech and I have to say she pampered me! My feet and hands look and feel beautiful. I liked her personality. At first, I was tired and I didn’t feel like talking so Yollie didn’t force conversation (I hate when technicians do that). Then later on I woke up a bit and was chatty and Yollie perked up with me and we had a great conversation. I appreciate that she mirrored my energy.
My most favorite part about this salon is, it is black owned and by a woman! I’m a huge supporter of black owned businesses so I was hype. Everyone was professional and all about customer service. During the week they serve wine with your service. Sangria on Saturdays and Mimosas on Sundays. I heard they have nail parties sometimes with cocktails and light appetizers.
The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because although I was only 8 minutes late I had to wait another 20 minutes before Yollie took me. Although, I am very happy with Yollie; I originally booked Annabel and somehow the website did not book me for Annabel even after I saw the confirmation.
I am looking forward to being a regular with Yollie!

I ended up coming here after discovering that Pure Nail (just up the street) is closed on Mondays. I went in for a standard mani/​pedi and was not disappointed with how my nails turned out. Jenny did my nails, and she was throrough and meticulous without taking too long. She offered me tea for my cough, and was pleasant throughout the entire visit.
I took away one star because the woman at the reception desk was a bit out of it. She spent most of the time that I was there hanging out in what I assume might be an employee break room. Every time a client walked in, one of the technicians would have to scream her name several times before she would appear… that made it kind of awkward, because you could tell that they were annoyed. I might go back, but I still plan on checking out Pure Nail because of their great reviews.

So I was in the area with an hour to kill and wondered what should I do. I look down at my fingers and took notice of my dying manicure and decided to find a nail salon. Pulled up my trusty Unilocal app and got to searching. I found a couple in the area and decided to go with Nail Boutique after reading some of the good reviews and scanning the pics. And off I went.
I arrived at the salon and I see there are people sitting and waiting and begin to sit when I look up and see that there is a receptionist. I’m used to going to the regular neighborhood nail salons where you walk in and hope that someone acknowledges your presence. Needless to say this experience was already beginning very differently. The receptionist asked if I had an appointment. An appointment… For a manicure… Um, no I don’t have one. Luckily for me they were able to get me after about 10 – 15 minutes.
I got a gel mani. I already had gel on so my fingers were wrapped to soak off the gel and I chose a color while I waited. They had at least 3 dozen to choose from. I sat at the polish bar. The experience was good. The manicure was done very well and it was gentle. I left loving my mani. Next time I’m in the area I’ll drop in, I should probably call ahead next time.

I love this place! After struggling for several months trying to find a decent nail salon in NYC, I finally came this gem.
I’ve been coming here a year now. I trek all the way from Harlem to twice a month to get my nails done by Anabel.
It’s very clean and the staff is polite. I strongly encourage making an appointment though, the waits can be long.

So today was my first time with the nail boutique experience I must say the service was totally outstanding and I was totally relaxed just what I needed after a stressful week at work Brooklyn’s best kept secret. From the minute I walk through the door they made me feel so welcome in from checking my coat to removing my shoes to turning on the massage chair while I got my pedicure and gel manicure done I’ve been getting my nails done for many years and I have never experienced anything like this I will definitely be back again this is Brooklyn’s best kept secret

First time here, very friendly and welcoming, I was offered water and Chardonnay as a welcome drink which was a great touch .

she did a great job, my satisfaction was her goal and she kept asking me if I’m happy with every step she was doing. i would had given them 5 star if the Seat and tables would have been more comfy otherwise a great place to go to and I definitely recommend this place and «MARIE»

I have been to MANY nail salons in my day.
I moved back to NYC from NC three years ago and during that time, I have tried many salons and could not find one that I absolutely loved.
I am so happy that I found this place! It is really like no other salon that I have been to. It is important to make an appointment before going so that you won’t have to wait a long time.
The salon is so professional and beautiful and it felt like I was actually in a salon (unlike most nail salons that I have been to in NYC & NC). They offer free mimosas on Saturdays and the ambience is so relaxing and pampering.
Lupe was my nail tech and she was so amazing. She was friendly and did my nails exactly like I asked. I showed her a picture of the style that I wanted and she did it with no problems. She will be my permanent nail tech from now on.
The Nail Boutique is also in a great location. It is right off of the C train in downtown Brooklyn and it is really convenient to get to. I love that it is less than 20 minutes away from my apartment.
They also have a points system which is really cool and gives frequent clients an incentive to keep on coming back.
The overall ambience of The Nail Boutique and the staff are so amazing. It’s also amazing that the price isn’t too expensive. I think that their prices are awesome for the services that they provide.
I will definitely be returning time and time again.

I actually had a horrendous experience here. I came in for a normal manicure, because it was my first time visiting the salon and I thought a simple manicure would be a quick and easy way to test the waters of a new place.
The tech had a hard time filing my nails. My nails were already shaped, but I asked her to please touch up and maintain the ovals… she filed my skin several times and made some of the points off-​center and I had to ask her to please fix them. This resulted in some nails being filed longer and more harshly than others, and in the end they weren’t all the same length. That was disappointing.
The tech stopped several times to get up and tend to other things. The manicure ended up taking a full hour. I’ve never needed that much time for a single manicure, not even a gel manicure with added nail art.
Finally, the reason for the 1-​star review: the tech globbed polish on my nails and all over my cuticles, using her own fingers to wipe up the mess, and smudging some of them– not that it really mattered by that point– in the process. She fixed the smudges my gooping more nail polish on top. Then she asked me «how do they look?» Before she applied the top coat, I told her I was worried they were going to dry bubbled and lumpy instead of smooth. I didn’t say this out loud, but just looking at them, there was SO much polish and it wasn’t evenly distributed on my nails. She told me not to worry because the drying process would thin the polish out, and that if I wasn’t happy, she would «fix» them. Oh, good… more time added on to what was already the longest manicure of my life.
When they were dry there were visible lumps and bumps. She came over to me and said «How does it look, honey?» I told her that three of the nails were not smooth, and she told me to let them dry longer. She never came back.
I thought about asking for a manager, but it didn’t feel worth it. The place was busy, I’d already been there for much longer than I had planned on, and I didn’t want to be there any longer than I had to be. Maybe if I had spoken up to someone other than the person who worked on my nails, another more competent tech would have been able to fix it? It ended up not mattering anyway, because even though I left the salon at 2pm, most of my nails had chipped by 8pm.
I will never go back.

After researching different nails salons I stumbled upon the nail boutiques. I became even more inclined to check it out after finding out it is a black owned business. I went on a Tuesday afternoon as a walk-​in and got seated right away.
Michelle did my nails. I got a simple acrylic fill-​in and found a beautiful opi color. Michelle was very nice and we had good conversation. I would love for her to do my nails next time I go there.
The salon was beautiful and quaint. The prices were low and they even have complimentary water, wine and tea. The bathroom was clean and smelled good.
I loved my experience here and this will be my new nail salon whenever I am in Brooklyn. Plus, it is always great to support black owned businesses.

What can I say, I love my nails, I’ve gotten compliments from many people already like they are amazing. They have great customer service and have good hospitality, as well as great communication skills. Definitely coming back for my fill-​in!

Great service… I went yesterday and had to wait 31mins and I had an appointment. This was the first time this ever happened but I was willing to wait and they still get 5 stars because the service is always amazing and everyone is always so polite. Yesterday I was surprised when they were passing out mango margaritas and hors d’oeuvres. I usually get sangria or red wine but I gladly accepted the specialty cocktail of the evening.
I’ve had Annabelle before, she’s great. yesterday I had youle? I hope I spelled her name right – she was so personable and did a great job on my nails. Michael is always super nice and funny also.
I recommend always making an appointment because they are usually very busy.

So my first visit to The Nail Boutique was a few months ago on my birthday. I’ve never been that into getting my nails done, but this was a super enjoyable experience. The staff was very friendly and you can have wine, water or tea while you wait. I do not remember who did my nails that time, but they did a great job. The only mistake I made was not making an appointment, it took a while for me to be seen, which is understandable.
The second time I made an appointment and I had a mani pedi done by Yaly. She was very nice, talkative and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. She made sure my nails came out excellent, the nail brush in the color I picked was damaged so she went and found another one just to make sure that my nails would look great. Also I would like to note I work in art so I do tend to chip my nails quickly, this manicure lasted twice as long as when I normally have a manicure!
Besides that the décor is really cute and the atmosphere is very relaxing and this has become my go to nail spot. =]
