I was unnerved after a flat tire taxi, a lost taxi driver with an impenetrable accent, and a tricky encounter with a driver (with braids and broad shoulders) who wanted cash.
So when a very nice lady from Dominican Republic picked me up 5 minutes after I got rid of the cash-​demanding fellow, I felt comfortable.
In her clean car, with her kind and warm conversation, she ferried me straight to LaGuardia, well in time for my flight. She had all the signs of a well-​ordered world in her car – you know, like a meter and a card reader and a taxi number and an ID and all.
It was reassuring after the previous challenges. Thank you nice lady! I’m glad your mother is taking ESL and Yoga at the senior center! I wish you happiness and prosperity in America.

Worse cab ride ever. since when does your cab get pulled over and undercover cops only words to the driver is unlock the back door and start searching me for guns a block away from my door?.. like really??? I guess because I’m black??? because I never seen or herd nothing like that ever… smh don’t take this cab if you’re black because they will pick you up but also send a message to there base just to have the cops track you and search you right before your destination. !!!

Thieves don’t forget anything in one of there taxis ever! Assholes. I called several times and just kept getting the rum around to retrieve my items

I don’t usually write reviews but this car service had me so upset. I’m writing this review as I’m in the car lol anyway I used to like Puerto Rico a few years ago. I haven’t called a cab over in this area for a while. Just as the other reviewers say they are super overpriced. They tried to charge me $ 25 from bed study to east Flatbush. Seriously? I told the driver I would give him $ 20 which is still overpriced. Next time I’ll ask the dispatcher when I call for the price. And I agree they do play this annoying Spanish music. The wait for the cab wasn’t long but I didn’t have my 3month old with me I would of gotten out and called another cab service. Would definetly give zero stars if possible

They are never on time and the dispatcher should be fired ! I know more than he does ! Such A waste of time and all the drivers say it. Maybe u guys should hire a person who is intelligent in some aspects of life.

And I’ve been waiting over 20 minutes for a car that was supposed to come in 5. The dispatcher has hung up on me twice. Fine. I’m just going to start paying a little more for Northside where they actually show up.

I used to use Puerto Rico all the time, but I stopped. I had to use them today to go to LaGuardia Airport, I’m actually writing this review while I’m in the cab, they are the worst. The cab driver drove all over Brooklyn, making needless turns. When I mentioned a better route he became belligerent and said it isn’t his fault I called late. As a life long Brooklynite I know how long it takes to get to the BQE & LaGuardia. If I could give –1 star I would. Do yourself a favor and take über instead of these jerks

This is one of the worst cab service I had ever experience. First, the voice machine while you wait to ask for a cab does not work. You heard muffling noise very low. Second, once someone picks up they say 5 minutes umm that means half an hour. It is absurd & ridiculous that you have to wait that long for a cab. CALL SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU NEED A CAB
This cab service don’t even deserve a star.

Worst car service in Brooklyn. Endless waits that lead to them rejecting your call when you’re calling to check on your car’s arrival. They never listen to your directions; proceed to get lost which leads to you being late for work. I’ve had two drivers get angry about going two extra blocks. Two extra blocks will not kill your gas tank. More importantly, just do your job by driving me wherever I want to go. I have never had an issue paying extra money so I am not sure why they don’t comply. I do not have the time, space or energy to do business with this company any longer. Done. I’m crossing over to the Über family

I had an emergency and needed to take my child to doctor. What should have been a $ 15 max fare with a tip, I was charged $ 25. When I said that was too much the driver said the dispatch said to charge that. I didn’t have time to argue. I called the dispatch who after hearing the story said «oh, you didn’t come outside that wasn’t one of my cabs». After I gave him a few choice words describing the car, driver and regarding the lie he just told, he then said sorry do what you have to do lady.
I am spreading the word, this company rips people off, has no integrity and are liars. You do better flagging a cab off the street. Oh and they are so slimy that they list their name as a while word here so your search is limited. It’s Puerto Rico car service.

WORST CAR SERVICE IN BROOKLYN– STAY AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS.
A five minute wait for a car actually means fifteen or twenty. Most of the drivers have no clue where anything is i.e. manhattan. Most of the drivers don’t’ speak english and most of the drivers don’t even use a gps. They overcharge by a lot, usually making up their own prices.
I would use Bushwick car service or one of the many other services nearby.

I’m a fan of this place. They’re pretty reliable compared to other car services in the area. They are the first service I call when I need a taxi. I found that their prices have not been a ripoff… BUT Alllways check the price that they (dispatcher) give you over the phone with the driver before the driver gets going though. On a couple of occasions the driver acted surprised because the dispatcher offered a price that was lower than what they typically would charge for certain routes.

Very rude and unprofessional. I called to get a quote on a van to take me from Brooklyn to Washington Hts tomorrow. The dispatcher gets mad and tells me to call tomorrow. I told him I’m just looking for a price to see how pricey it was (I was prepared to spend at least 50) but instead he yells at me telling me he doesn’t know. Smh never using them again!!!

They have the worst attitude ever. The operator literally just yells at you…
The driver went to the wrong address and got mad and drove really fast after we told him where to go… Even though he apologized but it was very scary.

OK Unilocalers… especially those of you who are new to Bed Stuy if you’ve been priced out of Williamsburg. These tips from a long time resident of ‘do or die’ should be heeded:
— when you call and they tell you that a cab will be there in 5 minutes, it actually means 15 to 20 minutes. period.
— WHEN YOU ARE ON THE PHONE WITH THEM, ASK HOW MUCH THE RIDE WILL COST FIRST. This is very, very important.
— they usually DO NOT accept credit cards without hassle. In fact, you may have to provide your cc information to a complete stranger over the phone so that they can pre-​approve the card first.
— if you have an early morning flight or have the need to get picked up during the middle of the night, rest assured that they will blow their horns like an insane person… loud enough to wake your neighbors for several blocks over. i find this practice rude. hell, if i go through the effort of calling a cab, I AM EXPECTING YOU ASSHOLE.
— 99% of the drivers listen to the radio on spanish-​only stations. this is very annoying (to me), especially if i am interested in hearing the TRAFFIC REPORT. however, i will dutifully note that if you ask the driver for an english speaking station they are more than happy to oblige. the drivers are very sweet people, in general.
In short, PR car service is slowly but surely adapting to the new rules of the road. gypsy cabs are still okay and most likely safe, but again ask how much first and negotiate — this is Brooklyn damn it! lol!

There’s no option for a NO star rating?. .. Oh.
If you’re rushing and you need a cab DONT call them, if the dispatcher tells you 5 minutes that really means 15 minutes (Which is sad because I literally live a block away from the cab stand/​base). There have also been instances where they may not come at all.
I did however call for a cab once and 2 drivers came. They argued in the middle of the street over who would take me. .. good entertainment, bad professionalism (20 minute wait).
My most recent debacle was with a driver who refused to take me to Manhattan, which is in fact against the law. If that’s not bad enough he proceeded to argue with me. –chuckles–
Suffice it to say if you don’t like driving perhaps you shouldn’t be a driver Mr. Jose Constante #505 007 Sir, whom I have reported to the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission. (:
My advice, DO NOT call Puerto Rico, call Brown & Brown, take the bus, or tour de france it up and utilize the new bike lanes instead.

This cab company is fast and reliable. They are on time when I call, their cars are very clean, and never have any truble finding where I want to go.
