There are just not enough good things to say about Kerensa! My now-​husband and I had exactly zero time to get a dance together, and 4 left feet between us. In 2 sessions, Kerensa zeroed in on exactly what needed to be done. We learned the basics, and even got a few twists, dips, and fancy moves in! I have NO clue how she did that for us in 2 hour-​long sessions. She’s amazing, and I’d recommend her to anyone and everyone! Imagine if we had only gotten out sh*t together sooner and saw her for 5 – 6 sessions. Our wedding guests would have been fooled into thinking we were Broadway professionals. :)

Kerensa made it work for us
As one of many busy New York professionals, the idea of taking time out between work, family, friends and wedding planning seemed like a daunting task. The great thing about Kerensa was that she met with us, at our convenience. She met with us on weekends (even on Sundays), evenings and even a few times at our home. Her prices were also very reasonable. There were even better after we signed up for the 5 pack of lessons. In fact, I thought that the prices were a bargain. She could easily charged more — she’s that good!
Kerensa is an awesome dance instructor
Being newbies at dancing, we were a bit skeptical that our dancing instructor could actually help us pull off the dance. Our dance was actually not just one, but a combination of three styles of dance, which Kerensa masterfully choreographed and even helped us with mixing the music. You can tell that despite her young age, Kerensa has a ton of experience in teaching couples. She knows what works and what doesn’t, and customized the learning process to suit our needs.
Kerensa is a true professional
Most importantly, Kerensa made us feel comfortable during our lessons. Kerensa never made us feel rushed or guilty for not practicing. She helped us with our dance with a realistic schedule, teaching us moves that were within our abilities, but enough to wow the crowds. Most importantly she made learning fun. I must admit that before starting the lessons, I dreaded the thought of taking dance lessons. To my surprise, Kerensa actually made me look forward to the sessions. In fact, I often found myself in a better mood after the lesson than beforehand.
Well, these are the reasons why we were happy with our choice. If you choose Kerensa, we’re confident that she will not only get the job done, but do it with less stress and more fun than you can ever imagine.

Kerensa helped my husband and I put together a routine for our first dance at our wedding. We signed up for 3 lessons to get the discounted pricing and am so glad that we did. Kerensa is very personable and kept us smiling throughout every lesson.
The first lesson was to learn the basics to ballroom then the second and third lessons were used to choreograph dance steps to our music. Kerensa taught us steps that were easy to follow and practice on our own outside of the lessons. Our first dance was amazing and we have her to thank.

I found Kerensa through a very positive Unilocal review. I was crazy busy with wedding planning but I knew I wanted to learn some basic moves for the first dance. We booked Kerensa for 4 lessons and we learned so much! In the end, she helped us choose our first dance and we went with a fox trot. The lessons are pretty reasonable economically for the the quality of the lessons that we received. We learned the fox trot and some basic salsa and were able to incorporate both for our wedding. Lots of our guests complimented our first dance.

my husband and i got married in september, it was a destination wedding in punta cana and we still didn’t know how much dance space would be available for our first dance until we got down there. we chose a waltz for our first dance, and kerensa broke the routine down so that we were (for the most part) mistake-​free by 5 sessions. she advised us on how to modify the routine too in case the dance floor was going to be smaller than we anticipated. (it wasn’t, thank goodness) i also appreciated the little details in form, posture, and hand placements she taught us to make the routine look all the more graceful. we got so many compliments, as if we had been taking lessons forever! thanks so much kerensa, you helped make our special day even more special!

My husband and I cannot thank Kerensa enough
for our first dance. My hubby never was comfortable learning to dance until we met her! She used so many great techniques to make dancing a breeze. She was encouraging, patient and creative. After we finished our dance we thought it wasn’t any good until we saw a picture… everyone was in shock and one of my friend’s sons was trying to emulate us. What a dance! Thank you!

My fiancée and I had never taken dance lessons, and as our wedding was approaching we became more and more nervous about the big ‘first dance’. We looked online for reasonably priced dance instructors, and found Kerensa. She was very responsive and we were able to immediately set up a 3-​lesson schedule for 50 minute lessons in a private room (when you buy a 3-​lesson package, you get a 15% discount… it’s always nice to save money when you are planning a wedding!!!). She was very patient with us and taught us the basics, and then practiced with us until we felt comfortable! She even choreographed our entrance and the last bit of the dance so that we looked like we knew what we were doing! Thank goodness we worked with her, because we were able to comfortably nail our first dance, and got lots of compliments!!! Thank you Kerensa!

Listen up ladies and gents,
No sooner than you can say «I do», well over 100 people (in my case) will be expecting to see you dance together for the first time as newlyweds. Now, unless you’ve already got the moves (you probably don’t), or want your first dance to look like a pair of teenagers at prom (you don’t), you’re gonna need a little help.
Enter Kerensa.
With a little over two months to go til our wedding at the time, I began googling wedding dance lessons in New York and came across Kerensa. The details on her site seemed right up our alley, so we wrote in and before we knew it, our first lesson had begun.
Three lessons later, my fiancée and I had learned ourselves some ballroom dancin’! Now, while we’re certainly not perfect at it (and with all the madness of wedding planning, have had a hard time fitting in practice), we certainly left with enough knowledge to get us through 4 minutes of first dance attention.
Kerensa was incredible. She was very flexible with setting up lessons due to our crazed schedules, and was beyond patient. Neither my fiancée nor I are dancers by any stretch of the imagination, so it was nice to have someone teach us that wasn’t frustrated when we needed to go over the basics for the 5^th time. On the 3^rd lesson. lol.
I absolutely recommend Kerensa for your wedding dancing needs. Be sure that when you schedule your lessons, that you arrive on time. We met at a place on 8^th and 36^th/​37^th that is basically a massive floor of private studios. They book up fast, so if you’re running 15 minutes late, that’s 15 minutes you lose, unfortunately. Other’s will be waiting to use the room at exactly the time your lesson ends. This didn’t happen to us, but keep it in mind.
Lastly, the price. Dance lessons are expensive! Much more so here in New York than say the midwest where we’re getting married. That said, Kerensa was actually the most affordable of all the various dance instructors I researched, coming in anywhere between $ 40 – 50 less. And best of all? Your lessons are private. It’s completely one on one, no other couples to compete with. This was greatly appreciated!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have exactly 10 days to practice dancing. Omg. :)

I can’t recommend Kerensa’s dance lessons enough. My husband and I went to her for our wedding dance and it couldn’t have gone better. We took three lessons and spent the time between lessons practicing what she had taught us. Our guests we impressed with our moves.

We are so pleased with the results of our dance lessons for our wedding! Kerensa was not only positive, but persistent, and proactive. Each lesson we learned new steps and built on our dance, so we weren’t using our time for only practicing. She made it fun and delivered feedback to us in a way that made us feel comfortable.
