Chinese Movers

This was our 4^th move in less than 6 years. Chinese Movers were the best we’ve ever used. I was surprised when only 2 men showed up but they were more efficient than bigger teams we’ve used in the past. They were quick and swift and were happy! I’ve never seen people lugging 200lb furniture, smiling! Andy had to remove/​reattach 2 bedroom doors to get a crib through. He did it in a snap. I underestimated the amount of boxes and furniture yet they didn’t charge me more than the $ 600 quote. We filled the entire truck to the brim! They strategically packed it in. When moving the couch into a shed at my new house, Andy was concern it would get dirty so he moved things around and placed it on top just so it’d stay clean. Very thoughtful guys. I’m really glad I found them on Unilocal.The other company I was going to use quoted me $ 950!

These guys were efficient, cheap, and quick to respond /​confirm via email.
They charged me $ 250 for the move, but I was only moving about 5 blocks from my previous apartment in Astoria. The $ 250 excluded tip, which they were not shy to ask for at the end, but given the speed, efficiency, and ease of working with them, it was earned.
Nothing was damaged (they wrapped everything up in plastic cover), they set up my bed in the new apartment, and so far (it’s been two weeks, knock vigorously on wood) no critters of any sort have appeared that could have been from them.
I would recommend to anyone looking for inexpensive movers.

Andy was exceedingly patient when my move-​to address kept changing every two days prior to my move. I finally found a place the day before they were scheduled to arrive. And it was all okay.
They were early! Really efficient. And nice (courteous).
Only slight almost-​negative, I suppose — they didn’t have a third person to stay with the truck. I ended up doing that myself. BUT it gave me a moment to chill and do nothing, so I was just fine with that.

These guys were amazing! I needed some movers last minute because the company originally I booked for were trying to scam me at the door. I heard about them from a friend so decided to call to see if they could do a same day delivery. The guy who picked up was Andy or Eddie (I didn’t catch his name clearly) it sounded as if he had just woken up (it was very early in the morning) but he still listened to my explaination, gave me a estimated quote about 600 and stated I should text him the information. Since it was an «estimate» I was prepared to pay maybe a few hundred more as well.
Within 6 hours, they were at my door with 3 men and all their moving equipment. One guy took a look around and asked which items needed disassemble, etc. We told him once and they got to work right away. It was a little scary how quickly they worked because I was afraid they might break something but they were very professional. The home we were moving to was a 3 story walk up which was no problem as well. They were done in 3 – 4 hours and only asked for 700 for disassembly and the move.
I was moving a very short distance (less than a mile) but had quite a bit of items. The first moving company, that I think were scammers, were stating that it needed to be $ 100 an hour and they would need at least 8 hours to move because of the three story walk up. These 3 chinese guys got the job done in nearly half the time. No stress, no arguments, just quick, drama free and professional work. If I hear about any of my friends moving, I will DEFINITELY be recommending these guys.

Made my moving day a lot better. They were quick, on time (even early!) and got to work right away. They even fixed my bed — which was broken well before the move — just as a gesture. And they were totally understanding about my ride being late to take me to the new place. The next time I move I will be sure to give these guys a call.

We just did a move with these guys yesterday from Williamsburg to Jackson Heights. It went smoothly. They called ahead of time to give us a heads up that they were running half an hour late, which only gave us a bit more time to pack some loose items.
They arrived with 3 guys, one started wrapping our ‘soft’ furniture with shrink wrap, one helped take down our apartment door (swung in the way of moving) and the third guy was moving boxes. So yes, there was no one in the truck so my husband and I took turns to keep a lookout throughout the move.
We were expecting that they would pad all our furniture but they didn’t so you’ll have to point to the ones you cared most about otherwise it’s shrinkwrap or no cover at all. There were a few items I asked to be shrinkwrapped — a sofa backrest and bench cushion but they insisted it’ll be fine in the open bin. I wound up wrapping them myself along with a few white shell and leather chairs. I’m glad I did coz some things left unwrapped had dust smears (no biggie). Like I said, if you care about it, you’ll have to chip in a wrap a few things. It had snowed so cover your floors if you don’t want them wet. We did that at the new place, not with the old one — I have yet to go back and clean those floors.
Overall, a great experience. They were careful with our things. We had 2 couches, 2 tv consoles (100 & 200lbs), bed, gigantic speakers, a number of other pieces of furniture and 40+ boxes. All moved for about $ 200 – 500 less than what other movers quoted. That plus they’re flat rate yet super fast. Finished the move in 4 hours, including the 40 mins worth of stupid traffic on the BQE.

I have never wrote a review on Unilocal before but felt it necessary in this particular situation. We found Chinese Movers on Unilocal and read all the reviews so we decided to call and get some information. They are great with keeping in touch regarding all the information needed: prices, times, items to be moved etc.
We used Chinese Movers for our move from BK to Staten Island and they were amazing! When we have moved in the past we have always done it ourselves but we knew this time it would have been impossible. 3 Guys came on time and well prepared. they had a huge truck and all there tools to take apart furniture reassemble everything wrap everything to protect it and move it safe and sound. They did our whole move in 2 ½ hours. We had a lot of furniture I Would Highly Recommend This Company On Your Next Move You will be very pleased!

These guys are phenomenal ! Made such a hectic moving day stress free. I was originally reffered to these guys by a coworker who used them in the past and was very pleased with their service. I called and spoke to Andy (owner of Chinese movers) & he quoted me $ 675 for my fully furnished 2 bd apt, king size bed set and the other twin size set, living room, dining room & about 45 boxes. I ws hesitant to book then due to them not having insurance but after a few research on google and Unilocal,They have 5 star reviews so I called back and booked him. The next day I discovered this site, city move and put up a posting to see if I can get a better deal. I ‘ve gotten a few good bids and the lowest one was $ 600 from the Chinese movers ! Wow what are the odds the same company I originally booked bid the lower than the price he gave me prior to this site. When we talked he honored and lowered the price of $ 600 from this site. What a great deal ! And totally put me at ease with booking them .
Moving day three men came on time. From their looks we thought they may have a hard time moving our very heavy extra huge wardrobe etc but with no exaggeration they emptied our apartment in 45 minutes. Again We have a fully furnished 2 bedroom with tons of stand alone items like floor and table lamps, coat racks, wall clock & frames & our pantry items and they loaded it all safely into the truck. The whole unloading took about an hour and I just had to tip these guys good $$ because nothing was broken, mattress was wrapped in secure plastic wraps, my husbands 60 inch flat screen was perfect and all was just in perfect order.
People for peace of mind, good price package deal and a stress free moving day look no further, Andy, the chinese movers is the one decision you will not regret. Thank you guys for such an amazing job !!!

I have used Andy & his team twice — this last time I actually moved on Thanksgiving day in the very early morning (8AM). All of my stuff was in the truck by 8:26AM (this is not an exaggeration). My entire move was complete by 9AM. These guys are honestly the absolute best movers I have ever had — I recommend them to absolutely everyone.

Moved from a third floor walkup in Ditmas Park to a third floor walkup in Astoria for $ 475
Andy was easy to deal with on the phone and by email. His quote was far lower than anything I got on Citymove.
I booked them for 8:30am and they arrived about 20 mins earlier with three guys and a truck big enough to do it all in one load. Super efficient. Everything was gone within about an hour and they were finished in Queens by 11:30. They had mattress wraps and pads for our dressers and everything seems to have arrived in one piece.
Highly recommended.

These guys are fucking great. I had a lot of individual smaller standalone items and a huge couch and they got the job done quick and super cheap (they put in a low bid for my move on CityMove). They even gave me a ride to my new place in the cab of their truck which was really nice, and they blasted Avril Lavigne the whole way there and offered me Chinese cigarettes. Thanks guys.

We used Andy’s team the second time, they moved us out of the place they had moved us in 2 years ago. I had put it up on
again (great site, btw) and Andy bid again (2 y ago he wasn’t the cheapest but I picked him based on the reviews, this time his bid came in lowest but I would have chosen him anyways — I just want to make sure I am getting competitive offers).
This time around, a lot more stuff had accumulated — we merged 2 apartments and added garden furniture. Andy’s team moved all of that in a record time of 4 hrs. Honestly don’t think anyone can be faster and more efficient than these guys. Plus, they are always smiling, disassemble and assemble furniture, helped with moving stuff that was already there. They just have a can do attitude! Awesome team, best movers ever.

My moving process was very easy: 120 square feet to studio, from Brooklyn to Astoria. I packed you carried. Many mover companies will charge me at least $ 200/​2hour. Some movers even will charged me extra for traveling from Brooklyn to Queens.
My real estate agency recommended me a mover. I made an appointment with him on SATURDAY AT 2PM. That mover flaked on me on Saturday and he told me he couldnt come because he was too busy moving around. WTH???
At 3.15pm, I was so fed up and I was Unilocaling and found Chinese Mover. Ever since i was in California, I always moved around with Asian movers. They are fast, quick, efficient and always CHEAPER than most movers, and will do the job regardless. Andy picked up the phone. I told him that I need to move ASAP! He just needed to carry as I packed my stuff done. he told me Sunday at 12PM for $ 275 cash only ($ 275 is a flat rate with 1 van + 3 movers!). Done! If you think that is quite expensive for easy move, but ASAP deal, try find a mover readily available and cheaper than that. He even told me that there is no cancellation fee but i should have told him much earlier; it makes sense. Time is money in NYC afterall.
One thing that I appreciate from a business is, if one cannot make it or will be late, don’t say, «I will be there in a bit» or letting me know at the appointment time or even later than that. Andy called me at 11.30 and apologized as he will be late. He will come at 12.30. It is better that way than not saying anything at all or making random excuses. He came at 12:21pm, moved my stuff out, done at 12:45PM. Drove to Astoria, and dropped off all of my stuff. 1:15PM was all done. There was an accident, so it took time for him to get to Astoria from Brooklyn.
Overall, it was a excellent experience. I gave him $ 60 tip for his excellent business and service. I will use their service for my next moving.

Called the guy up from Chinese Movers, sounded like he was busy on the day I needed to move. This is my intuition. So the guy quoted me 60% more than what I got from a 5 star rated moving company off of
. I am not advertising
and I’ve never used them, however the company that gave me the best quote is insured and bonded.

I don’t write reviews unless the service really irritates me or really impresses me.
Chinese Mover falls in the latter category.
Andy and his partner at Chinese Mover arrived 20 minutes earlier and were very efficient about moving out our stuff. They are professional and fair. If I had to move stuff again, I’ll use them and recommend them highly.

They arrived at my old apartment in Bay Ridge at 10:06. They finished packing the truck by 10:32. They finished unloading into my new place in Chelsea at 11:36. Andy and his team are freaking incredible.

A review as brief as the move: scheduled for 8AM, showed up at 8AM. Everyone else projected 2 — 3 hours. It took them exactly 1.5.
They were nice, professional and the best part? $ 100 cheaper than most quotes and HALF the price of the guys I used to move here.

SHORT AND SWEET REVIEW:
I have used Chinese Movers several times now, and I highly recommend them for the following reasons:
1. They are cheap and fair. In fact, they’ve given me the cheapest moves I’ve ever had.
2. They are fast. They brought a huge couch up five flights of stairs faster than the elevator would have taken. (It didn’t fit in the elevator.)
3. They are nice.
4. They speak English perfectly. There were no communication problems.
5. They are Chinese.

My boyfriend and I finally got an apt together and the biggest nightmare on top of my list was looking for a reputable moving company to move 3 places on the same day (not to mention the odd 40 something boxes between him and I and various ikea furnitures,). The Chinese Movers did an excellent job and mostly amazingly, completed the move under 2hours. They did everything quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a great moving company that won’t charge an arm and leg.

I used Chinese Movers for an interborough move from Dyker Heights to Lower East Side in late July and I couldn’t have been happier with not only the rate ($ 400.00 flat) but the wonderful service as well.
I originally requested a 7am start but later asked that we push it to 6am and Andy had no problem accommodating this. His men arrived at 6am on the DOT and by 715AM we were on the road after their having loaded up my 1 bedroom apartment to their truck by way of a lightning fast approach. By 845 am the 3 men had every piece of my furniture into my new apartment (2 flight walk up) in NYC. The only reason I am giving a star off is because of a small tear in a piece of art I had transported. It was canvas art and it was really my own fault for not having wrapped it properly. Also, 2 glass items were damaged but again this was probably more so part of my packing process than their being sloppy about my items.
There was a small misunderstanding about the price due to my having haggled $ 100.00 down originally but Andy having his original quote on the invoice the movers provided me with. After a very short and pleasant convo with Andy on the phone and my showing the email I had printed out with Andy confirming a $ 400.00 rate, the misunderstanding was immediately put to bed and $ 400 was provided to the men. I also tipped them 60 or 80 on top of that, I’d have given more but bitches is broke these days.
