I am ALWAYS nervous when it comes to treating, dying, and styling my hair. I went into this salon which I’ve been to once before for an up-​do. (Beautifully done). I showed Mustafa a picture of what I wanted done to my hair. (Cut, highlights, etc) — I am extremely happy! He did such an amazing job and I would never go anywhere else!

May have been the worse nail salon experience of my life.
1. The lady in the front desk told me it will be a 10 – 15 min wait, nope. It was a 45 – 50 min wait! Ok fine, I came in without an appointment and am new to the neighborhood and has time to spare so I waited as this place looked kinda promising.
2. The nail polish selection is awful, all random brands scattered on a random shelf which sits on the floor in the back.
3. The woman who did my nails was extremely rough! She asked me to notify her when it hurts as she was cutting my cuticles and I did 3x until she cut UNDER my nails and made me bleed!
4. The nail application was horrendous. The edges were not polished at all.
Stay away from this place!

Stella is just horrible!
I came to get my roots dyed. I am brunette but my natural color is blonde. So I asked her twice to make sure that lighter color won’t show. She started to show me a pallette of colors and pointing to ginger red. I asked her for dark brown instead she dyed my roots in cherry red! After girl washed my hair, I showed it to Stella, all she said was-​just wash your hair once again and it will be fine. I was in a rush so I just left. By the way I forgot to mention that for the entire time she was talking to her friend in her language which was unpolite as per me. Also the shampoo girl did her job VERY bad as when I came home my hat and then my pillowcase were all red. I am dying my hair for 5 years and it never happened to me before. After I washed my hair for a couple times as Stella suggested, obv nothing happened and my roots are still red. So I called the salon three days later (I wanted to wait and actually wash my hair as I was hoping for the best) and I explained the situation to the front desk girl. She said there is nothing she can do as I already paid and left and if I had any issues, I should have told them when I was there. It is ridiculous. I paid $ 50 for having my roots died in cherry red even tho from the very begging I asked for dark chocolate and when I was unhappy about the results, she told it will be fine (just wanted to get rid of me so she can talk to her friend).

Now I won’t write an awful review about the entire salon because I went to one person only. I believe Alex was his name I went for a haircut the first time which was okay but expensive. Second time I went I went for a Demi permanent toner for my blonde hair I just wanted to tone down my blonde a notch to get a more deeper color. I mentioned that to Alex 3 times. When he put the toner maybe he left it in way too long n I came out a complete brunette which isn’t what I wanted however the color wasn’t horrible it was actually really nice… just not what I asked for n still wanted to be blonde in the summer. Then when he was trying to blow dry my hair he forgets to comb out my wet hair first then gets frustrated Bc my hair was tangled then complains that my hair is real knotty. like no it’s not, it’s obviously in knots bc you failed to comb through my hair prior to blow dry he was very rough in the styling process not a pleasant experience at all.

I can only address the hairstyling here, but this place is a gem. Shura and Ira are a mother-​daughter dynamic duo when it comes to styling and cutting, respectively. They’re local celebrities here, and not without a reason.
Shura has golden hands and as she’s doing your hair you can tell her and guide your hair to become whatever masterpiece you can think of.

Best salon experience ever!
I had gotten my first Brazilian Keratine Treatment from La Vie. I was very happy by the results. They treated me so kindly, while doing my hair so nicely. They offered me tea while while playing some fashionable dance music. The place is very very clean and modern with nice LED lighting. I also had my eyebrows threaded by Nelly and I was absolutely amazed by the results of my hair and eyebrows. They make you feel comfortable while being pampered as they shower you with complements. The experience itself will have you talking and the end result is the evidence your friends can see. This place truly does provide the best possible salon experience in New York City.
