These are not the best bagels I’ve had in NYC, but they’re good. As a goyishe visitor to the heavily Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, it’s fun to see the mostly acculturated bagel in its original ethno-religious context.

Best bagel sandwich i have had in nyc. If you have heard about new yorkers gushing about their bagels… Well this place lives up to the hype. All bagels are fresh and taste fantastic. A little more pricey then other places but thats normal for kosher eateries.

I do not think that I have had a better bagel anywhere. I love the crunch of the bagel toasted, with butter melting into all of the crevices. The bagel is substantial and the topping of sesame seeds is generously applied to the entire bagel. If you like your bagel in any way sweet do not go here. If you want your bagel to make you go mm… then this is the place.

not the best, but not horrible either… I def like the bagels from the bagel store near my house, but for this spot being across the street from my job it is alright. I think the coffee is a bit pricey since it’s nothing spectacular, just a grade above the convenience stores but it’s not DD or Starbucks blend… & the bagels are decent, like I said neither the best/worst I’ve ever had… Their donuts didn’t seem fresh either time I tried them, and I only got a choc chip muffin once because it was so dry & tasteless, I never tried another one… overall it is OK, I wish Dunkin weren’t all the way on Ave J bc I’d prefer going there to be honest…

I give it 4 stars cause 3: that’s what a good bagel is. I don’t eat bagels outside NYC. I have my faves, for sure but I like this place because ya know it’s hand rolled and baked in the back, love the cream cheese and lox and it’s a solid gig. Love it!!! So the 4th star is appreciation!!! A bagel is a bagel is a bagel… Till you leave NYC my friends!!!

Simply put, bagels here are not very good. I can try to pretend to be an expert and talk about their thinness and over-crunchiness/dryness, whether toasted or not; about woeful lack of chewy substance under that crispy crust, but fact is — I’m not, I just know that these were far from the best bagels I’ve had. Plain cream cheese was not very good either, and was too plentiful for the amount of bagel. They have farmers cheese, which is a nice, unusual and tasty touch — a definite plus(if you never tried, beware that it’s practically unsalted.) Coffee is typical barely drinkable $ 1+ crap, stay away if you are prone to heartburn — it will give you a particularly atrocious one. This applies to both locations(the other one on Ave J.)

Great bagels sandwiches and pastries. My favorite Jewish comfort food; an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese is prepared perfectly here.

Decent bagels, wait staff is not overly friendly but hey you try selling bagels all day! There are better bagels in Brooklyn but there are also worse!

Sundays are crowded but worth the wait. Bagels are fresh and the customers are friendly.

This four star rating is strictly for the bagels and these my friends are very delicious bagels. Visually, at least this one time, they’re deceptive. They look like any other big ass, badly baked bagel made by inepts. However, once you bite into one of these bad boys you find the outside to be crisp and crunchy, and the inside fully baked yet very moist and chewy almost to the point of slightly underdone. They have a combination nutty and freshly baked dough taste which goes well with butter, salted or sweet. Because KBH is kosher and serves dairy, no red meat is offered or served. They do have the standard juice and soda products, and coffee is self –serve and doesn’t taste bad. I didn’t try any of the cream cheeses, salads or fish because quite frankly it didn’t look that good, but if any of you Unilocalers try it and say differently I will not argue.
