Stay away! I was awake during my wisdom teeth extraction and remember crying my eyes out because I felt everything. He said «Stop crying, it doesn’t hurt» which is ridiculous when I’m under anesthesia and can clearly feel what’s going on. I was so upset and wanted to leave since I didn’t need to recover from the anesthesia (since they barely gave me enough) and they wouldn’t let me go, even though I had someone with me to bring me home. I had an allergic reaction to the medicine that he gave me. Very bad experience. He told me I’d be completely under anesthesia and wouldn’t feel a thing.

Being a professional athlete, and having zero time to get four wisdom teeth pulled let alone recovery, I must say this was the best experience I could have ever had… & I was incredibly nervous because I had no time for somebody to fuck it up. The office took me on short notice, was easy to communicate with, and called me a few days prior to my appointment to notify me of the balance so I was prepared to pay my insurance copay that day. the doctor himself called me after my surgery that evening to remind me to sleep somewhat upright, and check in /​asked me how I was doing. I did experience swolleness/​soreness for at least 4 or 5 days, and he was right it did take up to 72 hours for the peak of the inflammation. I am a very small person who never takes drugs so I think the recovery time was longer for me than usual, but I healed very well and I’m completely back to normal eating habits. I would recommend him to anyone.

I had a very good experience with Dr. John McIntyre. Managed to save a tooth I had previously had a great deal of work rather than extracting it as my primary dentist had suggested would be necessary. Incredibly nice man, mostly on time, nice office staff as well. I am very skittish when it comes to dental work as I’ve had a lot (and a lot that has been very painful) and he was extremely gentle and checked in frequently during the procedure and after. He even called me on the Saturday evening after my procedure to ask how I was feeling — that was a first.
Appointments were not difficult to get as he works most days of the week. Good central location. I would definitely go to Dr. McIntyre again with any future dental concerns.

Save your mouth and your mind the trouble. He messed up a biopsy on a section of my gums that two periodontists after the fact have confirmed. The office experience was abominable. The full time secretary answers the office line on her cell phone and deflects everything (including payments over the phone, which seems counter-​productive if you want to actually get paid) and the proxy secretary told me that she’d charge my credit card over the phone even though she didn’t know the balance. Completely ridiculous experience, save yourself the hassle.

Dr. McIntyre is the BEST. I went in for a tooth extraction last week. I had an infected root canal and my friends and family made me very nervous based on their own personal stories with this type of thing. I thought for sure it would be an awful experience. He has this outstanding ability to keep things simple and make you feel calm, my tooth was extracted without any pain and he was kind enough to call later in the day to check up on me.
His quiet confidence and joyful outlook on life made me so comfortable and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Mcintyre was very professional and friendly. He went out of his way call me after the surgery and make sure i felt ok. The problem is his receptionist. The hours that you can get in touch with the office is irresponsible and ridiculous. The answering machine says Monday-​Friday 9 – 5 this is never the case. The whole staff was very bad at explaining what to expect from the procedure. communication skills were at a bare minimum. 4 days after getting my wisdom teeth out and still cannot eat and have extremely swollen cheeks. I asked the receptionist if i would be ok working 4 days after, i was told, no problem. This is not the case at all. Communication with the patient is paramount and this place gets 1 star at best. The receptionist should not have her job, clearly to busy to perform.

Ten years ago I had my bottom wisdom teeth out. It was a miserable experience. I ended up having two dry sockets and was in horrible pain for 2 weeks after the surgery. Needless to say, I wasn’t thrilled when my dentist told me the top ones needed to come out. My dentist recommended Dr. McIntyre. I couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience. His staff is so warm and friendly. From the moment I met him, Dr. McIntyre put me at ease. The day of the surgery, I was very nervous. As soon as I walked into the room and sat in the chair though, I knew I was in good hands and was completely calm. Afterwards I had minimal pain and when I called the office with questions a few days after the procedure, they were helpful and accommodating.
I plan on recommending Dr. McIntyre to friends and family who may need an oral surgeon in the future and, should I ever need oral surgery again, I will be going back to Dr. McIntyre.

My dentist told me I needed to get my wisdom teeth out and so began a LONG search for a surgeon who had amazing reviews AND took my insurance. This search came to an end when I happened upon the rave reviews for Dr. John McIntyre. As it turns out, they were right!
The experience was fantastic from beginning to end. It is easy to schedule a consultation appointment– I got one that next week– and his staff is very friendly. And on this Unilocal page there is currently a promotion that if you mention Unilocal you get free X-​Rays! (I’m not sure if/​when that promotion ends so double check on this Unilocal page that it still exists before you go into the office.) But that was fantastic news for me because my insurance didn’t actually cover the X-​Rays.
Dr. McIntyre answered all of my questions and we scheduled the surgery at my convenience. When I came into the office for surgery I was seated right away and was flipping channels while they set me up for surgery. They inserted a needle into my arm and the next thing I know, surgery is over and my person is there to take me home! They sent me home with a little gift bag thanking me for my business and then Dr. McIntyre personally called me later that night to ask how I was feeling and if I had any questions. A couple days of swelling and then I was pretty back to normal and good to go. All in all, a fairly painless experience (as I’m sure the drugs helped with that haha)
The next week I went into the office for a followup and was in and out in 5 minutes. I still can’t believe how professional and thoughtful he and his staff are and I totally recommend Dr. McIntyre for any dental procedures you may need.

Dr. McIntyre is a great guy, and he did an awesome and professional job on my wisdom teeth. What’s more, he has the nicest, sweetest, most helpful staff I’ve ever encountered in ANY doctor’s office. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Dr. McIntyre, Maria, and Rosetta are an incredibly courteous and gracious staff. I just had my first wisdom tooth removed today and felt compelled to describe how seamless and painless the entire process was. My dentist had warned me that the procedure might be painful but I had the complete opposite experience. Should I ever need any more oral surgery, I will be going to back to Dr. McIntyre.

I had rather severely impacted wisdom teeth in 2008. My dentist who is also very very awesome referred me to Dr. McIntyre. I have had some traumatic dental work, which is usually what I lead with when discussing patient history. Dr. McIntyre said he would have no problem knocking me out for the extraction and because of medicine allergies he had no problem working with me on my pain Meds. Unfortunately the medicine we picked was not effective enough at managing my pain the day after surgery, so when I called him on a Saturday (he was home on long island I believe) he was gracious enough to immediately phone in a new script for me so I could try something else. The way my teeth were impacted they were under my back molars and my jaw bone with very little room to even pull them out, only one of the teeth came out whole. Still after all the work he had to put in to getting those buggers out, the bruising on my cheeks was very light, hardly noticeable on my cheeks. I don’t know one person who had their wisdom teeth pulled and wasn’t black and blue for weeks after! This man is truly an Angel!

Dr. McIntyre is an awesome doctor! He removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth and I would go back to him for more dental surgery in a heart beat. He is caring and professional. Throughout the entire process, Dr. McIntyre made me feel as though I was his number one priority. I have recommended him to family and friends.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. McIntyre a couple of years ago. He took all 4 out at once. He gave me some good medicine because I don’t remember the surgery at all– it was great! He was very friendly and I would recommend him to all my friends.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. John. He was friendly, professional, and courteous! I was a bit worried about being traumatized by the surgery so I asked to be put under general anesthesia rather then the run of the mill sedative. Dr. John was very understanding and accommondating. My teeth were impacted so it was a bit of a messy procedure but Dr. John made it as painless as possible. My recovery was quick and I had no complications. Yay Dr. John!
