Specialties
I have been teaching guitar, music theory and history of music for the past ten years, in Italy and in NYC. I have experience in teaching students from beginners to advanced, from 5-year-old to adults. I also prepare students for music school and college admission.
My teaching style is focused on the student. I use to customize my lessons on the student’s skills, abilities and musical tastes. My goal is to make her/him independant from the teacher, able to pick up a score and play, develop her/his ideal sound, hear a song, transcribe and play it, write his/her own musical idea, finally to be able to say something musically.
I use to work on thechnique in a very stimulating way, giving those suggestions, smart tricks, to get better difficults passages. I like to share what I’ve worked on in my career and in my playing and continue to develop. With beginners I start giving them the best technique and learning style, making them able to play since the first lesson.
I can help mid level students developing their tone and improving the legato playing so that they can play a melodic line like it’s a vocal line and then accompany themselve by playing a bass line and chords behind that, as a background in a picture.
I love exposing my students to a wide repertoire, from early music to contemporary, helping them understanding the cultural history behind the notes.
