History

Established in 1978.

Farmer in the Deli has been the central go to spot for every Fort Greene family. Of course it hasn’t been always called Farmer in the Deli, it was called «Lauro’s» for a while, honoring the previous owner of the store, but in 1993 the name changed to «farmer In The Deli». This small family business has been growing in reputation and success ever since day one. With customers like the late Notorious B.I.G and the Junior Mafia Crew, Farmer In The Deli became more than just an ordinary deli with great sandwiches. For many families whom was raised and thrived on the sandwiches of Farmer In The Deli, their visits became more traditional; it became part of their history and childhood memories. Customers began to visit from all over NYC, and the name «Farmer In The Deli» became recognized all over as the deli where quality, low pricing, and perfection coexist. «We Don’t Make Sandwiches, We Build Them»
