Chasing Tails

Matt and his team at Chasing Tails are world class. You can count on the best service, love for your companion animals and personal attention. Matt and the staff at Chasing Tails have been walking my dog, Cooper, for almost two years, and I have never been happier with any dog-​walking service. Highly recommend.

Chasing Tails is awesome. I was super nervous about leaving my fur baby for a few days, but I was assured he would be in good care. Matt & his staff took the time to make my Jake comfortable and happy. They sent me pics of him throughout the day and didn’t call me crazy when I would call just to see how he was doing. I would definitely recommend this place and if I ever need to board Jake again, I would go back!

I love everything about chasing tails! we looked around for day care for our puppy once he was old enough and really nothing else compared. chasing tails is gigumbo enormous with different play areas and private suites. there’s a bunch of different sizes and ages of dogs there so our little guy gets plenty of socialization. the staff is wonderful. and there’s a ton of them. this has helped our little guy with socialization.
They really do a great job and everyone in there genuinely cares about your dog. It’s kind of amazing. Working long hours, its nice that 1. They’re open long hours and 2. they’re genuinely invested in my babe the entire time he’s there.

Had to take our dog here on a last minute overnight and these guys were great!
The place was nice, roomy, clean, and the staff clearly loved their jobs. There seemed like there was a lot for the dogs to do to keep them entertained and you just got a good feeling that your dog would be in good hands.
I would tell anyone to use them for whatever services they need!

Been taking our dog here for a year and a half now, and of the 3 that we’ve taken her to and 8 that we reviewed in both Brooklyn and Manhattan, this one is by far the best. Clean, great staff, large facility, and they understand that every dog has its own little quirky things about it, and so they adapt to it appropriately. Best doggie daycare that we’ve seen so far in NYC, in my opinion.
I would like to address the one negative review on here, however. Not every service you will try is for you, including possibly Chasing Tails, and that’s ok. However, some of the previous comments made are just irrational and blatantly not true about the facility, which is unfortunate that someone would do that. Of all the times we’ve taken our pup here for overnight care and regular daycare, there is ALWAYS someone staying with her, including the owner, Matt, if he needs to. Additionally, they don’t even have crates, but pens to separate the dogs, which negates that comment entirely. Finally, in regards to taking responsibility for your dog’s actions, that’s just commonsense, right? Whether I’m at the park, or my pup is at daycare, and if she starts a fight and injures a dog, I’m responsible for paying for it. That, along with correcting your dog’s behavior so it is unlikely to happen again, is part of being a responsible dog owner. CT however takes extreme precautions to make sure this never happens, which is probably one of my favorite things about their business and why this has never been an issue for us and our dog. Furthermore, they do not allow aggressive dogs into their facility. Period. Do fights happen? Sure. But that goes for any daycare you will ever take your dog to. In the end, you’re looking for a daycare that manages that situation effectively, along with treating your dog as if it’s one of their own, which CT does better than anyone that we’ve ever worked with.

–There was an entire pen of dogs that had been left completely unattended the entire time I was there, about 30 minutes. It didn’t look like anyone watched over them in general, which is a big no-​no
–My dog wasn’t too tired when he got home
–They crate dogs on the overnight, and I’m not sure if anyone actually stays there with them
–Most importantly, they take your credit card info and make you sign a waiver that states that if your dog does something to another pup at daycare, you’re totally liable for all the vet care. Wtf are they doing when these fights are happening? Aren’t they supposed to temperament test these dogs before letting them in? It seems incredibly shady to me. Any reputable daycare has insurance and assumes responsibility for these things. This was a big red flag for me.
All in all, there are better options in Brooklyn, though they are a bit further away.

There aren’t enough stars to reflect the amazing services that Chasing Tails provides. I have never met an entire staff who cares as much as they do.
Like most pet owners, I am CRAZY about my Lucy! I was so apprehensive to leave her in the care of others but then her vet recommended Chasing Tails. It was the best referral EVER! Lucy goes for daycare about once a week to play with her furry friends and I have also boarded her there when I need to travel. The staff know all of the dogs personally. For example, when I went to pick Lucy up one day, Lucy was up front with the owner Matt, at the front desk. He said that she was playing all day and he could tell she was getting tired so he took her up front so that she could have some quiet time and relax. That says it all!!! They are so in tune with all of their furry customers!
Even when we have a string of bad weather days, I will take Lucy there for a day just so she can run around with her buddies.
The staff even have a board and they track who poops, what time they pooped, and they also monitor the consistency of the poop! They really go above and beyond.
I have also had Lucy groomed there and because she knows all of the staff, she lets them do whatever they need, to get her looking beautiful!!!
This Christmas season they had a couple of days where you could bring your dog in for pictures with Santa! They also made a Chasing Tails 2013 calendar. They think of everything!
As far as the one negative reveiw goes… well good for Chasing Tails for not allowing the dog to stay without proof of vaccinations. Even though the man said he would email it to them when he got home, that wasn’t good enough for Chasing Tails! I mean, not that this guy was, but who’s to say he wasn’t a nut looking to abandon his dog? Chasing Tails takes the safety of their clients very seriously.
Besides the amazing staff, the actual facility is always sparkling clean! I just can’t say enough good things about Chasing Tails! It feels so good to be able to drop Lucy off and know that she is not only being taken care of but is also loved!

Like many dog owners out there, our dog is our baby. He’s the most wonderful, adorable, sweet, friendly little boy ever, and the thought of leaving him with strangers used to cause me terrible worry. I researched many places, and in preparation for a trip last year we tried out another daycare/​boarding facility in Brooklyn. He seemed to have a nice time and they were friendly enough to him, but several things about the place bothered me. I was hesitant to leave him there again, so I started searching for a new place, and happened upon Chasing Tails. And I’m SO GLAD I did!
I wish that so many of their reviews on here weren’t filtered, because initially you’d think they only have one review. Even the negative review I read was a positive in that they wouldn’t let a woman leave her dog when she didn’t have proof of vaccination on her at the time. Good! I’m sure she had it at home and the dog was fine, but I appreciate that Chasing Tails is strict on having updated records. We recently boarded our little boy while we went on vacation. After we called to make the reservation, I said to my husband, «We have to remember to update his bordetella before we take him,» because it was going to expire a week before we left. I had barely said the words when Chasing Tails called back to remind us that we’d need to do that very thing!
Everyone we’ve met there has been very friendly, and they clearly love dogs. They greet our dog by name (and his tail just about wags off as he hurries over to give them some lovin’). They have a great Facebook page where they post pictures of the dogs every day, helpful tips (like what Thanksgiving foods are harmful to your pup), posts looking to help out dogs in need of adopting, and they do fun things like ask you to post puppy pictures or pics of your dog in Halloween costumes. One of the employees commented on the picture I’d put up of our dog in costume, and I was really impressed that they’re that involved and invested in their canine campers.
Now I have somewhere I can take my baby and feel good about who’s taking care of him! I know they love him and will treat him well, and he’ll have tons of fun playing with other dogs and with the people who work there. It’s clean and I like that there’s natural light. Chasing Tails is a great place with great people that’s made for great dogs!

Clean, well-​lit, and a friendly staff. I’ve used several day cares for my dog, and seen some places that I wouldn’t leave my dog, but we’ll be back.
