Body by Brooklyn

I cannot figure out the rating on this place. I have been here twice over a five year period as I no longer live in NYC and both times I have been blown away.
Truly, I have had massages all over the world in the finest resorts and hotel spas, and time and again Body by Brooklyn comes out on top. Liz created a truly memorable experience for me. She was attentive and caring and made me feel like a million bucks! I wish I still lived in NYC as it honestly hurts me to know that I can’t come back as often as I would like.

Had such a good experience here today. Great customer service, clean, great drinks, and friendly people! I will definitely come back!

The ONLY reason this place is getting any stars from me is because the woman who did my massage was good, I highly suggest she leaves and goes to an actual spa that is clean and properly run.
We had a group that each had multiple treatments scheduled and the woman who checked us in was rude and could not comprehend us putting all treatments on the gift card we had (which was the only reason we came here in the first place). We were never given a tour of the spa being it was our first time and every spa I’ve ever been to I’ve been shown around, all we got was a point and her saying the locker room is that way. Filthy locker room I had to pick up 6 towels before I actually found a clean one. The we were left to find the jacuzzi on our own which was so cloudy and had a layer of God only knows what on top of it.
There was club music blaring from everywhere, not exactly a relaxing spa environment, it really seems like a place a sleazy man would take a hooker.
My massage was good and I really think the woman who did it would benefit greatly from moving locations.
When I was supposed to have my final treatment no one seemed to know about it and I was told it was booked for 2 hours later which was incorrect and then When I said I didn’t even want it anymore I was told I was going be charged a fee for cancelling!!! The nerve!!! This place is disgusting and should NOT call themselves a spa!

The best massage I have ever had. Bar far. Bar-​none. I can’t believe I’ve gone 30 years on this planet with such a thin sense of how transformative a massage can be. I came in with severe to dull chronic back-​pain, and I walked out a new woman. My boyfriend felt the same way. We both work at computers during the day and Body by Brooklyn has become an essential part of our heath and relaxation practice. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My name is Ebony Mitchell an I joined a few other wonderful ladies for a birthday event at Body by Brooklyn. I had the most amazing time. The food was excellent, the service from the employees was wonderful. The Jacuzzi, massagers, Etc… wow, that alone speaks for itself!!! I give Body by Brooklyn 5 Stars.

So… I went on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday and let me say it was «OK»… we booked the birthday package which included a massage (Jennifer did a GREAT Job!), a welcome glass of champagne, brunch (one cocktail– I chose Rum Punch which was delicious), appetizer,(I had hummus — it was ok) sandwich (hmmm– wasn’t the best, I picked at it) and dessert – pumpkin squares with ice cream– good enough!) The service was exceptional from our party planner Skylar but the cleanliness of the spa was not what I expected for the price, Ive been to several spas around the city and I was not pleased at all with BBB’s sanitary factors. To began– my sister had stains of god knows what on her robe, I witnessed a ROACH while I was in the Jacuzzi ! …Then a guy entered the wet lounge FULLY naked with his penis and anus out and decided to go INSIDE the Jacuzzi, that was it — - I was ready to go!
I wanted to complain or possibly ask for a partial refund but i didn’t think it wad appropriate in a bday setting.
Also, I think every spa I’ve ever been to had tools for women to prep their hair after leaving, all BBB had to offer was a lousy con-​air blow dryer that does no good for an African American like myself with very thick hair, I suggest for them order a flat iron on amazon ASAP.
and maybe a roller brush or 2 or 3 or 4.
I don’t think I would go again— unless its for someone’s bday whom I love!
I would prefer Ancient Aire, my favorite spa of all time.

I read the reviews AFTER I saw it written up on a top ten list.
My massage was good, she had good hands and technique. My issue is that the therapist didn’t ask me any questions before we started and I had to ask her to change the music and to let her know about my upper back pain. It’s not that it was bad– it’s just expensive– so I feel like for what I was paying I was expecting more personal attention and a «spa» experience– I wasn’t needing anything more expensive– just some attention and personalized care. The hot stone is lovely and she was great with them. Very good and relaxing. When she finished she ended on my legs– maybe it was a time issue– she seemed a little rushed– but my favorite thing about a massage is the neck and arm work that’s usually at the end– which she didn’t do at all. So I ended the massage a little bummed.
The space is strange, the hot tub wasn’t hot– tepid at best– and I just felt a bit taken for a ride. I don’t recommend it for the money or experience.

I give this spa 5 stars because everything we tried was great. We did a spa party of about 6 women for my friend’s birthday. The food was delicious and so where the drinks. They made a special drink just for my friend so she loved it. The space is very clean and Skylar which was the planner was great. Our massages were on schedule, the wet lounge was very clean. Omg we loved the bartender. The best time to book a party is from 3 to 9 you have the place basically to yourself.

Had a Birthday party there recently, & the ladies & I really enjoyed this place. Loved that invites were sent online where everyone had the opportunity to select & pay for their own package prior to the date. Payments are not auto taken although online — they charge the group at the same time on date & time specified, & work with those needing an extra day. Helpful for those not sure when RSVP, as you need to provide card info to RSVP. Brunch & special drink made for the event — fantastic! Place was clean, really nice, & comfortable. My massage was amazing! Highly recommend. Skylar the event planner is very patient — trust I made her earn her $$$ with my need to make sure everything went smooth lol.

So, this was a surprise treat for my hubby on his birthday which he liked. I made reservations for 11:30am but when they called to confirm they said the appointment was for 11:15am but I wasn’t paying attention enough to correct her. I checked my email the day of to confirm the appointment time I made and it was in fact 11:30am. They advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to the appointment but I got there at 11:15am and it took maybe 5 minutes to sign in so technically we weren’t late. The massage was fine but they ended 10 minutes early which I didn’t realize until I left the room but at that point I couldn’t be bothered.
The facilities were clean and staff were nice enough but this place is way over priced for what they have to offer. My tip is to save your money and go somewhere else if you can help it. I won’t be going again.

This was the worst spa experience. Too expensive, large facility, tiny whirlpool. The food was horrible, we were asked to save our PLASTIC forks… Plastic cups are used. We paid for 2 treatments, a massage and a scrub… the scrub was given to us in the form of a cup of seat salt we had to rub on ourselves while in the sauna. 3 showers 1 out of order. No available towels had to look for the staff to get the basics. I wouldn’t waste my time on this place, unless you like flies cause they have a lot of those.

First and foremost I have to praise Crystal O for introducing me to this hidden gem she is by far the best! Hands down the best spa experience of my life. The customer service is Phenomenal! Thank you Shanice for explaining all the amenities and giving us your suggestions I really learned how to spa! The services are amazing and the facility is clean and beautiful. And let us not forget the critically acclaimed bartender Leah M, between her awesome infusions, lemoncello and ginger beer I can’t even begin to explain in words how ridiculously good everything she made for us was. Anybody who wants to truly relax, and be completely pampered body by Brooklyn is the place to be. I’ll never spa anywhere else

What a nice little jem in the middle of Brooklyn.
Headed there on my birthday for a couple’s treatment and ended up having a wonderful relaxing day. The facility is clean and spacious, the ladies’ room is great, and their wet sauna combined with ice-​cold pool get your skin as smooth as babies a*s.
Spoil yourself!

Celebrating a birthday … I ignored my better judgment and the negative reviews … deciding to just give this place a try. HUGE mistake .
Let’s start with the good :
The two black female masseurs we had were absolutely amazing. I hate that I’ve forgotten their names. They rubbed every bit of tension, we had, completely out … even gave us tips on exercises we could do post massage. The room we received the services in, was lovely. The tables were comfortable and the aroma therapy option was spot on. Music and chosen scents included .
Both saunas were clean and properly heated. The steam room was also clean and I enjoyed both throughly .
The negative :
There were two «regulars» who obviously were friends of the spa attendants. They were loud obnoxious and intoxicated. With zero respect for their fellow patrons. Not wanting to spoil what was supposed to be the start of a fun filled day, we, tried to avoid them at all cost. That aside the day just kept, getting worse. The hot tub was disgusting and barely luke warm. The drinks were overly priced and watered down. The towels provided had holes and stains. The thought of how extremely unsanitary the environment is was so uncomfortable we simply decided to leave. Def not enough bang for my buck. I wouldn’t ever return nor recommend this «spa»

I really enjoyed Body by Brooklyn wet lounge experience last night. Although they were very busy, they took the time to explain how to apply the lavendar scented salts and honey scrubs and toured me through the wet spa. The bar was delicious, I had a jalepeno tequila drink that was original and exciting! It was wonderful and I am going back next weekend!

I’m just gonna touch up on what every other review already said:
Cons: Could improve on Robes and towels
Can improve on staff being a little more polite and cheerful
When closing, please don’t mop around customer’s
This is a spa so customer’s should not be allowed to bring cell phones and have
music blasting… This is a spa and should be more of a tranquil relaxing
experience. I PAID for PEACE…
Pros: This place Definitely has potential
Love that i can have a relaxing cocktail along side of the jacuzzi
Can be comforting and Romantic if you come with a loved one.
Drinks are good
Turkish Aroma Room Steam Room is too die for. I love this room
Only one Jacuzzi but pretty roomy another one of my favorites.
The dressing/​bathroom area is kept clean and stocked with soap/​shampoo
mouthwash etc.
Overall: Yes i would go again but they do need improvements… This is my opinion after only going one time… I am going to go again and update my review and dig a little deeper.

A total waste of time and money. Dirty facility, rude staff… Not my idea of relaxing. With all the places in and around nyc keep this one off your list.
The bar «snacks» are also quite gross… They pair nicely with your dirty robe and ripped towel.
Another disturbing note… There is no one enforcing a no cell phone policy so groups of people were snapping pics and playing music by the wet lounge. I didn’t realize it was a backyard bbq. Trashy.

This place could be great but it isn’t. I seriously doubt I will return even though I live in the nrighborhood. I went there just for wet spa nothing else.
Pros: give you a robe free, russian sauna really hot, steam room nice, locker room clean.
Cons: grossly insufficient towels, hot tub has icky gross nasty *really smelly* dirty water w no circulation, russian sauna totally falling apart w boards loose (one flew up at me) and no lights working. So for $ 45 you get 1 steam & 1 sauna that are ok and 2 other unusable facilities — but I can get that at my ymca and in better condition. Also, they close wet spa 8:30 on a friday and theres only 3 showers w no suit spinner or bags for your wet suit.
Definitely needs major work and cleaning..

Had an awesome time yesterday. Lauren was a great host to our party of 6 ladies celebrating our friends birthday. The staff were all very friendly and the massages were excellent. We all received massages, a great brunch and some good drinks. I defiantly will recommend this place.

This place by far continues to disappoint me. I’ve been here several times and there is always issues. We order drinks and food, waiter give us a menu and leaves us there. We then find out they don’t begin food service till 12pm. We go to the hot tub and there is bugs inside of it. Even the cold pool had bugs in it. The response was oh its water bug, we were close for 2 days and the chlorine kills them. Oh Really… Im done with this shitty spot.
