Bagel Bazaar

When I first moved to the area in 2007, my first goal was to find a good bagel place, because you ain’t a Brooklynite if you can’t find a great bagel. Lo and behold, I found Bagel Bazaar around the corner from my place. I love their bagels, which are baked onsite and delicious. The staff is friendly, the coffee is great and they have a nice variety for those looking for something a little more interesting.
It’s a small place, but the quality and service is colossal. Go here, get your bagel on, and enjoy.

I finally had a chance to come back! I used to come here all the time in high school. I ordered the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. I initially wanted it toasted but the guy said it just came out of the oven. I was worried that it would be stale by the time I took the train into Manhattan but NOPE. It was still soooo delicious! They slather on the cream cheese and the bagel is perfectly fluffy.

I’m making it my business to write this!!! I’m extremely upset with having to order food and NOT be told that it will take over an 1 hour prior to taking my damn order!!! 8am I made my initial call and only 35 minutes later when I call back he has the nerve to tell me that there is nobody to deliver it and the food hasn’t even started to be made. Doesn’t matter how many customers there are I was the only delivery at this time!!! So it seemed as if I am of no importance as a customer and on top of that a REGULAR who orders and comes in to get food from here!!!
So don’t expect people to order and wait and wait and wait because they don’t have the decency to tell you right away that it will take over an hour or more because they didn’t have any concrete time frame at all!!! Just because you have been in business for so many years there are plenty of new places that are easily going to get the business and they deserve it

I’ve been frequenting this place for a while now and I absolutely love it, but what’s not to love? I mean it’s New York bagel. I always have thei bacon and egg on a toasted whole wheat bagel and their coffee, either iced or hot. Staff is always smiling and greets you a good day.

I had a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it was just okay. It probably would have been better if i had eaten this hot but I bought it to go for a hiking trip. By the time I got around to eating it around noon (bought it at 7a), the bagel had a rubbery texture to it, similar to if you buy a roll of bagels from your supermarket. I expected a fresh, soft, and fluffy bagel similar to essa’s or Murrays. Alas it was not meant to be. I may still give this a second try.

Best bagel shop around Bensonhurst. I always come home every since I was a child and I always enjoy coming in early to get a hot, fresh and soft bagel with cream cheese. This is a neighborhood establishment that is here to stay. Sadly the prices of the bagels have rose due to inflation but it is still tasty as hell

A buck fifty five and you’ve got yourself one of the finest bagels in Brooklyn. Hearty, slightly dense, chewy; a bagel of substance.
This place has been here for eons; used to grab a well-​toasted cinnamon-​raisin drenched in butter at 7am every morning back in HS. I like my bagel with a crispy top and so much butter that it soaks thru the paper it’s wrapped in and my hand gets greasy. Yeeeeah.
Place is teeny weeny tight. Staff is friendly but fast, so have your shit together when you hit the counter. Cream cheese or butter, make up your mind already. People have trains to catch and bagels to eat!

This place is one of the few that have survived the change in the neighborhood demographic from Italian /​Jewish to Chinese. Yes, as other reviews have said, the customer area is tiny. It has to be because they hand-​roll, boil and bake all the bagels right here in the back of the store so they’re always fresh. I’ve been coming here since the early 90s and in all that time I have never had a bad bagel nor a bad cup of coffee. This place is not fancy, but if you want a good, old fashioned hand-​made bagel, this is the place to go!

Love love these bagels and the crew at Bagel Bazaar. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, the establishment is a long-​time favorite with my family. I recently moved, and miss the service and my pumpernickel cold with butter and large coffee light and sweet. A definite must see if in Bensonhurst. Way to go Patrick and team!

Everything from bacon, cold cuts, eggs, ham, sausage, steak and cheese. Chicken Cutlet with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Western Omelet egg whites on Multigrain or Whole Wheat bagel!
They have a whole bunch of other type bagels too. Variety is the spice of life!

Fresh lightly toasted plain bagel with cream cheese. didnt ask for much but got a pleasant surprise by not getting surprised by unworthy food!

Bagel Bazaar is old time Brooklyn Bagels. Hand rolled always made fresh during course of the day. Coffee always hot and just Brewed. Assortment of bagels aplenty. The owners Steve & Pat are FRIENDLY AND OUTGOING, and so is there staff. They are open early 5am to late in the afternoon 7 days a week. So you can get a bagel & coffee for your morning commute or p/​u a dozen to bring home. Worth a trip from anywhere will not be disappointed.

I been going here since a been a little boy and I can’t say enough about it. When I come in here I love watching them make fresh bagels specially catching them fresh out the oven. they have great coffee and the owner and workers are very nice here. They are the only people in the neighborhood that represent old school Bensonhurst and NEVER souled out to the chineese (no offense) bottom line best bagals and breakfast in bensonhurst brooklyn. If you think it’s Bazaar. .then think again buddy

I used to get bagels here with my parents all the time. A plain bagel with butter and jelly– yummm!
I also remember it being cheap. Of course, the prices went up a bit.
The bagels are still good, especially when it’s freshly baked in the morning. So the only thing is that the bagel has gotten smaller… or did i get bigger? lol
The bagel is still pretty good tho. I mean it has to been since it’s been there for so long.
Last time I went to Bagel Bazaar I saw that they made chocolate chip bagel! Sounds yummy, must try one day!

This place has the best breakfast sandwiches in Brooklyn located in a great area. The building is small and old but serves fresh bagels and delicious sandwiches. Little places like this should be kept around.

Hole in the wall store, usually runs out of flagels early in the day. Both time’s I’ve been here, they screwed up my order, average bagels… I wish Cropsey Bagels was still open.

Hole in the wall, great bagels, fast service, and good coffee. Not to mention that it’s cheap compared to other bagel stores that charge more for bagels that are not as good. What more can you ask for?

You can’t miss this place — it’s the small store front deli with the long line. Yes, the Bagel Bazaar may never get an A rating from the sanitation department, but that’s all right … Build a little immunity, will ya?
The bagels are fresh, and made in house. Ours was nicely toasted and crisp on the outside. They’re also warm and fluffy on the inside … Everything a bagel should be! We smeared peanut butter and jelly on ours, and downed the halves with a hot cup of coffee. I loved these bagels — apparently they also make a «Flagel», which is a flatbread bagel. I am just as confused as you are on how this will look, but can’t wait to come back and try one!

This is one of those «don’t judge a book by it’s cover» situations.
From the outside, Bagel Bazar is not attractive, and when you go inside, it’s even less attractive! There’s not much space in there, 5 – 6 people can uncomfortably squeeze inside. The variety of drinks in the refrigerators is average at best, with your typical options and a couple of Manhattan Specials.
They always seem to be very busy inside, maybe because it’s so small it just looks that way, but the old red headed woman seems to run the place and there’s two younger helpers up front.
The place is so small because they do all the baking on site, so the space in the back is much bigger. Bagel Bazar is one of the dying breed of bagel stores left in Brooklyn, the type that hasn’t «upgraded» and decided to sell 40 different types of wraps and paninis.
The have bagels, and that’s all they need! You can get bagel sandwiches too with cold cuts, but you care coming here for the good old Brooklyn bagel and that’s it.
A regular bagel with cream cheese will run you $ 1.75, while something with specialty cream cheese is going to cost you $ 3.25.
My favorite is the egg bagel with their new cheddar jalapeño cream cheese. This isn’t some synthetic blended mix, either. You will find huge chunks of cheddar and juicy jalapenos inside! The bagels are almost always excellent, not too chewy and just the right amount of crispiness on the outside.
So, if you love bagels and can get past the ugliness, i recommend giving the no frill Bagel Bazar a try and get a taste of what old Brooklyn is like.
