While Pilates strengthens the core like no other fitness régime can, it also improves blood circulation, neuromuscular coordination, agility and stamina; reduces stress, joint and back pain, and allows free-moving bodies to enjoy effortless activity.

History
Established in 2012.
AB Pilates and Wellness has evolved after years of teaching in various environments. In 2012, Amy realized it was time she promote her unique style of Pilates fitness for a broader community. She is very excited AB Pilates and Wellness has found a home at the elegant Ethos Collective in Soho. At Ethos, clients are afforded the luxury of a private studio setting that provides the calm and focused environment needed for cultivating wellness in the body, mind, and spirit.
Meet the Business Owner
Amy B.
Business Owner
Amy comes from a long history of movement studies. After graduation from University of Maryland, she moved to New York to further her education. In 2008 she received her Pilates certification from Balanced Body University and has been teaching ever since.
As a contemporary dancer, she has explored various classical traditions, along with more healing movement practices: Chi Kung, Alexander Technique, The Feldenkrais Method and Body Mind Centering. Receiving instruction from world renown teachers, Amy is able to instill within her students the body awareness needed to move with precision, grace, and control. Her deep understanding of anatomy and biomechanics provide a safe training environment that yield fast, effective results, while her continued research in these areas is part of her dedication to providing the best training possible to her clients.
Amy believes Pilates training is an important aspect of healthy living for any body. Through conscious movement, healing can begin.
