88th Precinct

Worst police station. I was assaulted getting off the G train and had my phone stolen. I walked directly to the police station and they offered little help. I have never been in a situation like this before, but in the future I would probably not even bother to report.

This precinct is so unorganized. My car was hit while parked on a Saturday morning so I had to wait until Monday to obtain the accident report. I called the number left on the report probably a good 15 times considering I had time to make a full breakfast before I just pressed 0 for the operator who then gave me a different number that I only had to dial 10 times instead of 15 to get an answer.
When I finally reached someone they said the report was ready for pick up. I get to the preceding to retrieve it and the guy behind the window says it’s not ready… so I then called the number back (took 5 tries) while I was there and the lady said she would complete it right then and there.
Such a headache. Let’s get it together 88^th precinct.

I had an accident 4 days ago. I’ve been calling non stop this precinct since then to get an accident report # and no one answers the phone!!!

I’m sorry, but the police will NEVER get five stars from me, and I truly believe that anyone giving them five stars is participating in their own oppression. I fully acknowledge that the police are human beings and therefore should be treated with some semblance of decency (unless they are doing something unethical) HOWEVER, this should be reciprocal — I also expect, nay demand, to be treated with decency and respect.
I got doored riding my bike to work the other day. I ended up in the hospital for a day, lost wages for three days, and had to get my bike fixed. Today I went to get the police report only to find a bunch of incompetent garble on the police report (apparently I ran into the dude’s door because one second is ample time to avoid such things, and because apparently the dude «looked both ways» before getting out of his car — right), BUT the officer (Reyes) also did not include the complete insurance information on the accident report, which by the way, you have to pay ten dollars for, money order or personal check only. Ugh.
So anyway, considering the shittiness of the situation, the fact that I now have to get a lawyer to deal with the mystery insurance company and the accident which should be cut and dry the driver’s fault and not mine, but which according to NYPD is debatable at best… considering all this, I went to get the dumb report today and was ignored for a while by a morose officer who then proceeded to heckle me for no real reason about the following: whether I’d brought my 10 dollar money order (I had), the fact that I needed to borrow a pen, and the fact that I asked questions about the insurance information.
Soooo while I don’t like being rude to human beings in general, these police officers really need to step up their game. I’m willing to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and Officer Reyes was actually nice to me when he arrived at the accident but his half-​assed police report is no help to me, and no one at the precinct was helpful or kind.
Serve and protect? LOLZ.

This is one of the worst precincts from hell. The female officers are more concerned with hugging and kissing fellow male officers than doing their jobs. More concerned about whether they have time run and get their naild done on break. When you walk in to make a complaint the officers look at you like why are you here, youre bothering us! They argue and disrespect one another like crazy, I’m surprised they haven’t shot one another the way they argue in there. Once I saw someone that most considered a club hoe as an officer, I was done. Time to move outta Brooklyn, they areletting any become cops!

**The Chinese believe 88 is a lucky number and tonight it really was for me!**
After slaving over a 10 page paper for class, I go to move my car in Brooklyn, only to find that my car is not there. Panic quickly sets in as I can’t locate my vehicle. Wait, did I forget where I parked it? No, surely early onset dementia has not set in… yet. Oh crap, someone stole my car in Crooklyn. At this point, I am on the verge of tears. Not because I can’t find my car, but because I think my car has been stolen. It isnot a good feeling to have.
I quickly call 911 and within 15 minutes, a cop cruiser pulls up to me to the exact location of where I parked my car last week. Only now, it is an empty space without my car.
The two cops were very nice, made a few phone calls for me and relocated my car immediately. Luckily, my car was just towed to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The people that towed in just entered in the color wrong. They had it listed as a white car and not a forest green one. Boy, was I ever relieved. I have ever been so happy to see a couple of pigs in my life.
So, thank you, 88^th precinct for saving my life and relieving my anxiety after 3 hours of trying to find my car. I guess I’ll save the Xanax for a later date (when my car actually gets stolen)!
