This place used to be better. It has gone down hill recently. The prices have gone way up. I just chose to go to Wegmans liquor store instead, same selection with cheaper prices. The manager used to be named Jon was a great guy and always had knowledgable staff now, with Jon gone, the staff tends to not care as much and just play on their computers as opposed to helping the customers

I don’t know what is happening at this store. It used to be an excellent place to buy interesting wines, with a very knowledgeable manager, and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Since he left, the staff is indifferent at best, and the selection of wines is uninteresting. When I went to shop there were two young people (man and woman) outside the store. He had just pulled what looked like a cigarette paper out of a package. I went into the store and tried to find what I wanted. Then they both came into the store and the guy offered to help me — apparently he worked there but for some reason was hanging out outside the store! It was very strange, very uncomfortable and very unprofessional. He also didn’t know anything about what I wanted. His response was «We don’t have it right now,» which is clearly meant to imply that they will in the future. Since he didn’t tell me when they would have it, I don’t believe it for a minute. The staff at this store don’t seem to care about what their customers want. The attitude is if you don’t want what we have, well too bad. It’s not a good way to run a retail business.

I never review places, but after my experience, I had to download the app and review! I don’t I’ve ever had a better experience anywhere. I went to the wine tasting and this woman helped me and my boyfriend. She was so sweet and informative and accepted all of our dumb questions. We rang up a delicious bottle of white wine and she even made us leave with a free baguette will definitely make this my regular spot! Especially for the tequila tasting! Don’t miss out, if you’re in the area, you MUST stop by

Wow. I’ve been trying to deal with the up and down of their service, the general staff are nice but he owner or main manager is such an asshole. Today I went to pick up a somewhat overpriced 10 yr Rip Van Winkle bourbon for $ 100. This was offered to me on my previous trip just a day prior by a nice guy who said he was their new buyer of spirits. I stopped by today to pick it up, and some other items. The owner, a smug & short guy with grey hair and beard, acted super snobby, asking «who are you?» And said, «That person isn’t authorized to have offered you that.» He kept staring acting as if it was some country club that I had crashed. This store is mediocre at best. It’s beer selection is no more diverse than a star market. It’s bourbon selection is lacking to say the least. So many better options in the area. Avoid this spot, and go where your business is appreciated — like Craft Beer Cellars for a real selection of true best beers, and Urban Grape for your booze.

Great selection, great service, fair-​to-​bargain pricing, lots of tastings and events, wine tasting jukebox, more. Even fresh loaves of Clear Flour bread!
The staff is always super nice and helpful.

I stumbled upon this wonderful place when I first moved into the neighborhood; great Unilocal ratings and walking distance sucked me in. I would, however, make the trek from other locales, now that I know, since they have easy parking on the side of the building.

Amazing beer selection and great wines. Wines are moderately priced and it appears as if they have a great deal of tasting options. Can’t wait for my next trip.

This is one of my favorite places to stop while on a run. I know a bit counter– productive but I get so excited when I pass this store because I can always count on them to have the seasonal beer I’m looking for. Even if the beer you want was just released by the brewery, they will have it, sometimes it’s not even in their computer yet!
I realize it’s called the wine gallery but I have yet to look at their wine selection. They do have a pretty nice tasting selection everyday and that’s always a bonus… maybe not after a run though.

Awesome wine store. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, always able to suggest a wine that I know I will love. Hosts weekly wine tastings. The owner is also very generous within the community, making a donation for a fundraiser I was planning. One of my favorite places to purchase wine and craft beer.

Great new location and it has free parking in the CVS lot. You may not find your typical selection of wines or alcohols, but what they have to offer are great. The staff is very helpful to ensure you’re picking exactly what you’d like. They will even do wine tastings before you purchase. Beer selection is great for harder to find types and your standards. As they’ve been opening this new location, they don’t always have everything in stock, so that’s been the only downfall. They even have a rewards card — not that we needed more encouragement to come back!

Great spot for beer and wine. Not just your run of the mill beers, and the GM, John, is very knowledgable about pairing for wines.

I love the wine gallery! I’ve been living in Chicago for over a year now and while I’ve found its equivalent for most of what I loved in Boston, sadly there has been nothing that compares to the Wine Gallery!
What initially sold me on this place was the wine tastings. I’d been to a few of their grand tastings and found myself impressed. Not only are they free, but the selection of wines was always huge. (Though the variety and # had gone down in recent tastings.) I especially appreciated that in addition to trying the wines if you really talked with the distributers you could get a bit of a wine lesson for free. I do recommend going to these tastings though right when they open because they definitely get packed and are much more pleasant when you’re not trying to wade through the crowds of people.
But I don’t just love them for the tastings. They also have great employees who take the time to get to know what you like and help you make informed choices. If you join their loyalty program they also keep track of what you’ve purchased which is great if you come back in the future and remember you liked a certain Cabernet but forgot its name. Their selection is also great and I’ve found a lot of interesting wines that I haven’t seen at other places.
Yes, their wine does tend to be a little more expensive than other places, but to me it’s worth it for the quality of the service and the great free tastings they offer.

Not much to dislike here; it’s a liquor store in Brookline. If I know anything about the individuals of Brookline, our repressed personalities aren’t helped by the absence of boozy establishments.
Great tastings are held here, they carry local growlers and the in-​house wine sampling option is a huge draw. Can be a bit pricey, though, and I hate to be the one to tell you this, but they don’t have Charles Shaw.

It’s the only place I could find in MA that sells Lichido, a lychee liqueur, we might be using in the signature drinks for our wedding. I drove all the way from Stoneham and snagged the last bottle. Go figure!
The guy at the counter was nice, but didn’t seem to have a lot of knowledge of Lichido. Nevertheless, the fact that they had this import made me super happy! I also witnessed him helping an elderly man to his car with some boxes of wine or liquor. That’s service!

How can I not love this place? Wine jukebox! Love it. If only it wasn’t so far away. I must go for one of the featured tastings some time as well. Wine and cheese? I’m so there.

Wine Gallery has a pretty great beer selection. I’m not much of a snob, but I know what I like. The convenience store near my house is limited, so I’m glad WG has some more choices, especially from local and small-​craft breweries. True, the prices aren’t fantastic. I agree with the reviewer who noted that pretty common labels were going for $ 12 and $ 13 for a sixer, which is damn close to absurd. So, in short, I wouldn’t go here for a thirty-​rack but if you wanted some smaller label or to try something new, hit it up.
As for wine, they have a large but not overwhelming selection, and the staff was knowledgeable in helping me find what I wanted (since my vintelligence is limited to «what color is it?» and «will it make my head hurt?») Also, free samples. I’m pretty much a big ho for free samples.

I love this place so much that having just moved from Brookline to Somerville, I will still come here to buy my wines. No better place for quality and price, and the owner and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They really specialize in providing those non-​traditional vineyards and wines that are hard to find elsewhere– I love the Bonarda and Torrontes.
The free tastings all the time ain’t so bad either.

The Wine Gallery gets props for having a really excellent selection of fine beers and wines. The staff are really friendly and in addition to the always available free wine sampler, they regularly have free wine or beer tasting events.
But let’s not kid ourselves… you are paying a premium for the fancy wine tasting area, personalized service and all those freebies. You can get all the same stuff in nearby Boston stores for less. The drinks on offer here are impeccable choices, but unless you live nearby I wouldn’t recommend making a special trip here – unless it’s for the free stuff.

This is my new, go-​to wine place!
My fiancé and I have come in here twice recently, on our way to an event/​occasion and looking for a gift. Both times, we asked for advice and the 2 people who aided us were so helpful!
This past weekend, we explained that we were going to a wine & cheese party and Jo-​Ann Ross led us to a bottle of Prosecco-​like sparkling wine (which we like in lieu of champagne) and apple ice wine (which I now want for myself!).
I did a tasting here about a year ago with Spence, who’s no longer there, but all their employees are so knowledgeable and helpful. And they have such a great selection of wines, beers, etc. — in terms of taste, region & price!

I’ve been to the Wine Gallery several times, but the last time was the first time I was able to sample the wine jukebox.
Additionally, they were hosting a Craft Beers cookie and beer tasting event for free, which was awesome. I ended up picking up a very cool expresso beer that I thought my bf would love — but he did not. That isn’t anyone’s fault but my own though.
I discovered Belgian and other lambic beers that are awesome and fruity. The service was pretty good. The wine jukebox slightly disappointed me as there were many more red wines than white, and the white wines were not that great. The rieslings were not sweet at all.
But overall, it was a fun experience. And you really can’t beat a free wine tasting anytime you come in.

OMG. I was here yesterday for a massive tasting event. They had over 100 wines available for tasting. Also, they had a generous assortment of baguette slices and delicious cheese. And all for free! The store is huge and has a great selection, primarily of wine, but they also have hard liquors and a nice assortment of corkscrews, foil cutters, etc. They also have extremely cute women’s tee shirts with great wine sayings on the front like «Lush and Spicy» hehehe. Great gifts for any female wine lover!

Also, they have tasting «jukeboxes» available all the time where you can taste lots of wines with the help of these nifty machines.
Additionally, they discount your order the more wine you buy and offer free delivery on orders over $ 100 in Brookline.
