History

Established in 1999.

Venus Ensembles has performed for over 1000 weddings and events, and members of their distinguished collective can be found at any time in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, on Broadway, or in the hottest Jazz clubs.

The owner is an acclaimed musician who understands how the right combination of music can create a specific atmosphere. After graduating from The Juilliard School, Ms. Meyer founded Venus Ensembles and set out on a mission to create a service where anyone can enjoy concert-​quality music at their event.

Venus Ensembles has been listed in the New York Magazine as one of New York City’s best vendors since its inception, has been selected by Modern Bride as one of the top150 Entertainment Vendors for Weddings in the country, and won both the Bride’s Choice Award from Martha Stewart’s Wedding Wire and Best of the Knot every year since 2011.

Acclaimed for her «polish, focus, and excitement» (Allan Kozinn, The New York Times), violist Jessica Meyer is a versatile performer who has been featured as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player throughout the world. As a passionate advocate of new music, Ms. Meyer is the co-​founder of the critically-​acclaimed contemporary music collective counter) induction, and has premiered pieces for solo viola throughout New York, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. Jessica has also performed with the Either/​Or Ensemble, the Argento Chamber Ensemble, the Gotham Chamber Opera, Continuum, SONYC (the String Orchestra of New York City), and Piaclava — a touring trio that is often called upon to perform interactive outreach concerts for Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Center for Arts Education.
