Marilynn Seits teaches piano and voice to children of all ages, teens and adults. Her specialty is teaching people how to read chord symbols, play chords in the left hand and play the piano by ear along with learning to read notes. Children as young as 5 can learn simple 2 note chords which is particularly helpful if they want to learn to play jazz or pop music down the road. She also does a lot of «ear training» with students and her motto is if you can sing it, you can find the notes and play it on the piano. Another speciality of Marilynn Seits and CMR Jazz is jazz piano performance either solo, with a trio or for accompanying vocalists.

History

Established in 1990.

I started Creative Music in 1990 in West Palm Beach, Florida doing recordings, composing music and playing the piano in small and large jazz groups. When I moved to New York City in 2006, I continued to write music, play the piano and to teach privately and at music schools. In 2016 I moved to Asheville, NC where I have a music studio for teaching, composing and doing voice and piano demo recordings for clients.

Business Owner

Marilynn Seits has been teaching piano and voice, composing music, recording demos for clients and performing in jazz groups for most of her life. She has a degree in music education and also plays the organ for weekly church services at a church in Port Chester, NY. She has composed the music for and recorded and released 7 CDs of healing and relaxing New Age music as well as 4 albums of jazz that includes songs she composed as well as several songs written by her two sons, Sean and Andy McAusland who play bass and guitar on her recordings.
