I’ve been here twice to have some drinks with my boyfriend. Older crowd. Bartenders were nice. They have karaōke night. Which was pretty interesting.

crazy fun place, very old New York, no good drinks, but that does not in any way impede just how real a time you can have hear.

South of France is an awesome place! Celebrated my birthday twice and the owner is a Lehman Alumni as I am. Her staff is friendly and helpful and making sure you have whatever you need. Love Comedy Night and Karoke Night and Ms Mariso is just Terrific! The food is really good. Love the Tostones with Chicken Cracklings and since i’m a rice freak, I love white rice. Just a great place to be with great people!

I’ve never been into bars my whole life and was reluctant to go the first time my friend suggested we go. First people I met was the bartender and the owner. Both were very friendly and always attentive, despite the several patrons in the bar that night. Been there 10 more times since then and have gotten to know additional staff… the patrons that come in are regulars and are not trouble makers. Every experience I have had at South of France has been positive. Never been shot, stabbed or mugged, the neighborhood doesn’t scare me(possibly because I grew up in Queens the first 10 years of my life). «South of France» — okay the name is decieving, but if you drive around enough, ummm I don’t see French people around, do you? :) It’s all Spanish bars and restauarants, and this is one of the friendliest ones I’ve been to. The food — can’t say much about it as I’ve only had one dish, twice. Whatever I did eat was greasy, so ummm hey I have to stay away from that particular dish! :) The drinks — full strength, never diluted. Nice variety of liquors. ONLY drawback is the music — love the music, volume is WAYYY too loud. Blasting through my eardrums, please turn it down a little :) Definitely reccommend this place to anyone passing by.

I wish I had been the first one to review this place… ESPECIALLY since I have actually tried their food… I went in there expecting French food, but it wasn’t…so w/e…decided to eat anyway cause it was VERY late at night and its 2 blocks from 1 of my apartments… aka I can’t get white girl wasted and walk home ;-)…anywho…here is where my friend and I met and AWESOME bartender named Jessie… she introduced me to my fave drink EVER called THEREDDEVIL… it tasted AMAZING… I’ve gone back plenty of times and have tried Chicharron De Pollo and its REALLYGOOD… also had the Asopao and even though its waterier then Ive normally had it, it was still good… also…my bf had ordered a chicken sandwich and it was tasty as well… What tops it off though… JESSIETHEBARTENDER… she’s AWESOMEANDSUPERFRIENDLY…
