Ortiz did an excellent job in facilitating the funeral arrangements for my loved one who passed away last month. The staff was cordial and extremely helpful. The funeral home was clean and had sofas to accommodate extra family members. The location is extremely convenient(right near the 6 train and cross Bronx expressway). The staff kept in close communication with me informing me of updates and changes when they occurred. They helped us get the casket to a separate church for traditional services. The hearse driver was helpful and very nice. I thank them again and would recommend them to anyone

Dude kept answering the phone and couldn’t even speak english, so I decided to go in person. I was with 5 relatives, he literally shouted«2 people» and tried to physically close the door on the rest of my family. We almost got into a fight. I would NEVER, EVER, do service with this place and the neighborhood is trash just like the directors atitude. despicable!

Some of the worst service at a funeral home ever. First, I guess NONE of their workers are trained on how to address GRIEVING families. They came off as very DRY and very rude to members of my family. Also, we had family members eating in the place, and we didn’t see the signs saying«NOEATING». One of them had the audacity to come up to a family member and tell them«I GUESSYOUDONTKNOWHOWTOREAD» and motions to the sign. At least mention it to us in a civilized and nice manner. This is also the first funeral home I been that didn’t provide water and at least coffee for the time we were there. Once it came time to take the body(since the viewing was over), 2 of their workers came in and RUDELY told us to leave because they were putting away the body. Seriously, they need to fire and rehire people with class and dignity to work there.

Ok, let me breakdown why I’m a fan of this place. Everyone hates funerals for the obviously reason. Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy. This funeral which is located near the 6 train has a very different environment to other funeral homes I’ve been too. Let me explain. Upon entering there is a clear directory of where you should go. There is always staff available on the floor, if you have any questions. They give you information regarding the wake and burial of the departed. Although there is more than one funeral going on at the same time you get individualized attention from the funeral staff. They have many sofas for family and friends to sit along with tissues at everyone table. The rooms are decorated in such a way to almost make you feel that you are at someone’s house not a funeral home. The bathrooms are very clean and there is toilet paper and bins in the stalls.
