Just awful. Awful. I used to be a faithful customer and used them religiously any time I needed a car. This is the third time in a row that I’ve called and they’ve said «10 minutes.» Literally an hour later a car turns up. It’s outrageous that a business can operate like this. Never again. They’ve lost my business. I can let one time slide, but three times in a row — it was my mistake for calling them.

HORRIBLE. And an idiot dispatcher. How is this service still in business? U don’t like your job? Then Don’t work!

What sucks is I use to love these guys, I still love the old man and his son, and a few other drivers. With that said you operate a business, if you cannot pick me up when you say you will then be honest. if you tell me 5 minutes I’m thinking 10 not 30. So when I call back to see what’s going on you tell me another lie. I can’t believe I’m this angry. Now if I don’t leave a tip I’m the asshole. I’m sorry, and I know some of yall don’t give a fuck but never ever again I’m done.

Awful very rude dispatcher and driver. This was a round trip reserved the day before. Driver arrived late. He was speeding. Was missing a seat belt. On the way back to my location he was loud rude and arguing in a rush and driving too fast. Wouldn’t recommend. I don’t understand how the tlc allows them to be in business.

They’re not dependable at all. They will say there coming in 4 mins but will arrive 20 minutes later. They need to step it up.

I’d used New Elegante a handful of times and they had been pretty good. We needed a car from the Newark airport c. 11pm back to Bay Ridge and I was told to call when I was off the plane; they estimated the car would arrive 25 mins after I phoned to confirm. I did that and when I checked in 60 and then 75 minutes after we’d landed, I was told the car was «in Jersey, 5 minutes away — please wait.» Okay, fine. We waited more than 15 minutes only to get a call from the driver who told me there was some issue and he was STILL IN MANHATTAN and that it might «be a while.» Things happen but for the DISPATCHER TO LIE AND SAY THE CAR IS 5 MINUTES AWAY IS UNETHICAL. We took a cab, it was about the same price (about which we’d been misinformed or we would have done this in the first place). Lying is not okay, even for car services.

0 stars if I could. NEVER on time. usually 30 plus minutes late. What’s the point of calling in advance to let you know we need a cab then? Elegante, how do you even operate a business effectively if you cannot be on time?

So far they have been very prompt, their cars are clean and reasonably priced. I use them every single time I don’t drive.

Nice guys, clean car. My big issue is theres a $ 5 credit card processing fee. Five dollars, seriously?

There’s a reason I stopped calling New Elegante a LONG time ago. Today I remembered why. I called at 8:20 to request a car. They assured me in 10 minutes it would be there. 15 minutes passed so I called to make sure the cab was still coming. The dispatcher asked that I wait 5 more minutes. So I did like an imbecile. When those 5 minutes passed I called again to have the dispatcher scream WE HAVE NO CARS and slam the receiver. I waited 25 minutes for that.
Poor etiquette, if you don’t have a car just say so. I’m sticking to my regular cab service, because New Elegante disappoints every time.

Decent drivers, usually really fast and pretty accurate, drivers get you where you’re going quickly. Clean cars. No crazy music or over-​chatty folks. Never had them pick up another passenger, not show up, or miss a scheduled pick up. Good prices, good about late night pick ups even from the bar. thats been a life saver before.

Prompt service, but when my friend called to have a car sent, the dispatch should have asked how we were paying. I find out AFTER a 40 minute drive to JFK that the driver has no means to process a credit card in the vehicle, and then gives me attitude about it like it’s my fault? Please. I had to ask him at least three times for a phone number to call to provide the information before he would, while he sat there and stewed about how he couldn’t believe this, doesn’t know what he’s going to do, half his day is going to be wasted while I provide a credit card number to someone on the phone … just so much drama. And then when I did get someone on the phone, they took my info and then said the driver should have a receipt, which he does not, so I get to figure out how to wrangle an expense report.
If you need credit card info before the driver shows up, tell your customers that. And why don’t the drivers have the ability to process a card, anyway?

I’ve used this service a couple times since I live just down the street. They’ve always had cars available when I came here (you can call too, but it’s a couple blocks away… Come on!)
Their service has been friendly each time, cars are relatively clean and it’s staffed with good drivers (not your Dollar Van-​type drivers!)
One word of advice would be to ask dispatch for a quote and don’t let them hustle you into their car as you’re walking in the building. Their prices fluctuate a little but — but are usually pretty fair and they’re very courteous for cabs. I’ve even had one open and close my door for me!

Consistently great… Used to find cars easily outside the 59^th street train but not lately… Regardless — the storefront is open and they bring Someone around quickly

VERY convenient to help get back from Sunset Park to Bay Ridge late at night. They’re fast and serviceable. Remember, Bay Ridge hire-​cars won’t always come into Sunset to get you. And if they did, think how long that takes! Elegante every time.

I have used this car service off/​on for many years and they have never picked me up on time. 10 Minutes away means 25, don’t use if in a rush.

After trying every Bay Ridge car service and never finding one that was decent, I started using Elegante and have never been disappointed. 1) The cars are new and clean and in good condition. 2) They show up in like 1.5 seconds 3) Prices are very fair, often cheaper than a taxi into the city would be. 4) Drivers are polite and courteous.

So far they are ok. Sometimes they do arrive a little later than announced. But usually they are pretty reliable. And to the woman with the 3 cats and moving, she should’ve gone with a professional moving company as opposed to a car service. There are plenty that offer low rates and a van to transport her and the kitties. Hiring a car service like this one is a bit unreliable on her part. You can’t depend on these guys for a move? R u kidding me? Lets be for real. Hire a moving company!
They are good for getting from A to B simple destinations. Sometimes they take longer than the 5 minutes the dispatcher tells you but its not bad.

Recent horrible experience!
I had used them before for trips to JFK and my previous experience was satisfactory.
This time I needed a larger van trip from La Guardia to Washington Heights with 15 bags, 2 passengers and 2 cats.
I called 3 days before and they said no problem and to give them a call the day before.
I called the day before for a pickup at the airport at 7pm. I explained that I was relocating and needed to be at my destination by 8:30pm to pick up keys to my new apartment so I wouldn’t be stranded.
They said it would be no problem and to give them a call when I got to La Guardia and they would arrive 20 minutes later.
Called at 7pm. No van at 7:30 so I called back they said they would be there in 5 – 10 minutes. No van still at 7:50. Called again and they said they driver was in the airport and he would be there in 5 minutes.
By 8pm still no van and when I called they gave me the driver’s number so I could find out where he was. I should have hailed one of the other van cabs but stuck it out until the Elegante van finally showed up an hour late.
I gave the driver the address on West 161^st Street and he entered it in his navigator. 20 minutes later I realize we’re driving around the Bronx! I am now almost in tears afraid I would need to find a hotel for me and my crew after a long day of travel. I kept trying to tell him we needed to be on the West side and he wouldn’t listen. I finally made him pull over to look at my Google Map and he conceded he was lost.
We finally arrive at my destination at 9:30pm after driving around for an hour. Luckily my new super was there with keys to let me in.
The real kicker is that the driver wouldn’t leave without me paying $ 75 for what should have been a 20 minute ride.
I will never use them again and I wouldn’t suggest anyone use them to get from the airport if you’re in a hurry.

These guys are the best local car service that I’ve ever used.
I’ve been using them for over 10 years now.
One time I was at a friends in Park Slope, and we were waiting on another car service that never showed up.
When I recommended she call Elegante, they showed up in 5 minutes and she’s been using them ever since.
I use these guys to get to JFK every single time I go to the airport.
It’s usually very reasonable.
The drivers are all nice and will chat if you like.
One time I got a guy who was the cousin of Jose Contras of the Yankees.
Their cars are always nice, with plenty of room in the back. (look for their red white and blue sticker with an Eagle on it)
It’s also always fun listening to their dispatcher on the radio inside the car, while he rattle’s off the pick ups in Spanish. Hmmm… kinda makes me wish I was on the Belt Parkway right now, heading for a JetBlue flight. :)

I’ve been using Elegante for several years. They’re quick to pick you up, reliable, and best of all CHEAP. Last week they took me from Park Slope to Grand Central Terminal for 22 bucks.
Cars are clean and drivers are polite and quiet.
The best car service I’ve ever used regularly in NYC.
