Service was nice. Food was just ok. Prices are inexpensive. It’s crowded with mostly elderly population. It wouldn’t be My first choice for breakfast but I would eat there again

I visit Bradenton once or twice a year, and the thing I look forward to most is breakfast at Denise’s. The food is always consistently delicious, the coffee is the best I’ve ever had, and the staff is always very friendly. They are very accommodating, and will do what they can to make whatever you ask for (even if it’s not featured on the menu). I have created quite a following for Denise’s as everyone I travel to Florida with become instant fans.

Great food, mostly elderly people eat here daily, great service. This place has the best pancakes I have ever had in my whole entire life. I would recommend this place if you are just passing through Bradenton.

We ate inside due to the heavy smoking on the patio. It’s small inside. We both ordered lunch off of the specials board. Well prepared, quick service and did I mention, amazing service.
Definitely not a young person’s place. I am in my 40’s and went with my mother. A lot of beef and pork on the menu, which was a limitation for me in terms of ordering, but really, really cute place.

This is one of the rare places where you know you will always get good service, a consistently well-​prepared breakfast or lunch, a nicely varied menu with abundant daily specials, and almost hard-​to-​believe low prices. It’s American fare, for sure; definitely not haute cuisine.
There’s outside dining but, sadly, smoking is allowed on the patio so you may find yourself choking on secondhand fumes while trying to enjoy your crab and avocado omelet.
The restaurant is small, very clean, with décor that takes you back to your grandma’s house — in a good way ;) And you may find that you feel a lot younger than usual… it’s Florida retiree central. But it’s super friendly and Denise, the owner, is often on site keeping an eye on things.
One last kudo: the smart, friendly note in the menu welcoming substitutitutes. Refreshing!

My wife and I have driven by here a hundred times, eaten next door at Danny’s Pizza a dozen times… and this morning we thought we’d try Denise’s out. We’re glad we did. Saturday morning breakfast outings are a way of life for us, but it gets tiring going to the same old places and it’s nice to try someplace new. Denise’s isn’t new — it’s been here 18 years according to Joe, the owner’s son. The place was packed inside, and there was one or two tables open outside. Not that there are tons of tables, the place is relatively small. And the bulk of the clientele was pretty elderly, too. Not that we are all that young (a retired fire chief and teacher) but we were about the youngest people in the place! Joe was taking names and there was only one elderly couple waiting, but we had another option. We sat at the counter (it was very comfortable) and the service was fast and friendly. I have to agree with a previous reviewer… the serving of biscuit and gravy was pretty small. My wife’s SOS (chipped beef on toast for you without military experience) was plenty, and the prices are, indeed, very reasonable. Today’s specials included Apple & Cinnamon pancakes (I don’t remember the price), and Steak & Eggs with home fries and toast for $ 6.95. The elderly gentleman who sat down next to my wife (who is also from Iowa!) had that and it looked great — probably a 6 oz strip and eggs with home fries. The menu had plenty of things on it that we’ll be back to try out. It was too good on the first visit not to want to try lunch there sometime, and breakfast again. I think one of their pancakes is in my future!

This is one of Bradenton’s hidden restaurant gems. I really enjoy the price of the meals, the coffee is good and always fresh. There are tons of stuff on the menu to choose from and even more specials written on the boards. I always have a hard time choosing what to eat because I want to try it all!

I like chicken fried steak. Its good there, but small protions (for the older clientele i believe). Get 2… they’re cheap. My wife’s salad looked fresh and delicious. We’ll defiently be back. Thanks! It was fun telling them that I was there from a

Denise has got it going on, fast, friendly and pretty darned good!
Thankfully, you’ll never go here. ;)
