This spot is Fantastic, we came to Boulder for the first time and I had looked at this spot beforehand. This spot exceeded our expectations, Lee was a fantastic bartender and host. Highly recommend!

Date had an old fashioned with their homemade rye. He thought it was very good. I had wine — mistake– stick with the hard alcohol. Fun atmosphere.

Awesome vibe. Great little bar in Boulder. If you are into margaritas, ask for Taylor’s special #7– he’s the inventor. Amazing. Enough said.

This place rocks. Excellent service. The cocktails were amazing as well as the beer selection. They have a great happy hour as well. Nice place. We will go back. And the food looked awesome! We had just eaten but everything we saw coming out looked drool worthy.

On an adventurous Boulder night out, we scoped Unilocal and found Bitter Bar. The drinks looked awesome and not insanely over priced. We got there about 10, it was busy but not overwhelming! Found a couple of seats at a community table. Shelby, greeted us almost immediately and was extremely friendly and personable! At a seemingly trendy local spot, we felt right and home! We were sticking with the L whiskey bases to went with a Fire & Ice and Tin cup! Both were unique and delicious but complemented each other well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, it was a loud bar but the crowd was sophisticated and friendly! Enjoyed people watching and chatting up a storm with my date. Shelby recommended another drink(can’t recall the name, but had bourbon and blackberry). Again so yummy, plus secret they have popcorn if you ask nicely for it! Will definitely recommend and be back for drinks!

Bitter bar is the best! It’s hands down my favorite bar to go for happy hour(M-F 5 – 8) and really anytime I want a delicious cocktail. They have something for everyone; whether you prefer sweeter drinks, simple ones, classics, etc. they have it all! The atmosphere is dim and very hip. I love the decorations almost as much as I love the cocktails!

Sleek setting, great music, amazing cocktails. Date of Visit: 2÷7÷15 Found myself in Boulder looking for a fun craft cocktail joint, and gave Bitter Bar a shot on a local recommendation. Long story short, it was one of the better cocktail bars I’ve ever been to. Tucked away a bit off the beaten path, Bitter Bar gives off a speakeasy-ish vibe, which a fun setting to enjoy a stiff drink. I decided to go off-menu via Bartender’s choice and have them make something based off my preferences — which was a win. All drinks the bartender made were outstanding, and that little bit of extra personalizing made it easier to shell out $ 10 – 15 for a drink. The service was outstanding, the bartenders knowledgeable, and the background music was solid. Add all that up, and Bitter Bar was an easy 5*.

My drinks were great. The atmosphere is wonderful. Our server, Shelby, gave great recommendations and was so nice, so were the bar tenders. Overall wonderful experience.

Best Manhattan ever! Yes, the best. If you want a great drink, and don’t mind paying a bit more for something overwhelmingly better than everywhere else, this is the place for you! Yes, they make THEBESTMANHATTANEVER. James will make the perfect drink for whatever your taste buds desire! P. S. Sit at the bar for the best experience!

Great drinks(especially during happy hour!), great atmosphere, great service. $ 5 for a very nice cocktail during happy hour. We tried almost all of their HH cocktails and I can’t name one I liked more than the others. They were all equally tasty. In terms of food, their selection is limited to olives and cheeses. There is a food truck outside on certain days. We planned to eat there for dinner, but it wasn’t there the night we went. The waitress brought us popcorn to snack on though! If you haven’t been here and you enjoy a nice cocktail, do yourself a favor and try this place!

A true standard in the classic bar business. I have been a fan since day one, and now with James Lee at the helm it has only gotten better! Kudos to the classic bar, to the bartender, and to the cocktail culture!

Best drinks and mixologists in Boulder and Denver. I’ve gone in multiple times alone and really enjoyed myself. The staff knows what’s up. I really respect the owner too. It’s so nice but not stuffy.

This is still my favorite bar in Boulder and I love going here for their happy hour and late night. An added bonus on top of an already fantastic bar is a taco truck! Tacos Del Norte sits in their back parking lot Thursday through Saturday evening. At great prices, who wouldn’t want tacos, burritos and quesadillas?! I recommend their vegetarian burrito. I could go to The Bitter Bar daily, but my liver might not agree ;-)

New ownership. Drinks are no better than a standard bar and the bites are not as interesting. Disappointing but not decent standard bar fare. Saddest update I’ve given.

This place is one of the more upscale places in this college town. The dark interior is well decored and the cocktails strong. They specialize in cocktails and their concoctions are creative and decently priced. The service is good and if you are a liquor connoisseur, this place is a must! It is a place to start your night, not end it.

Awesome awesome place! Beautiful comfortable ambient décor, tons of seating in booths tables and theater seats! Stuffed animals on the wall, large patio and couches around a pig iron stove. Only reason I give 4 stars is because they should throw a few more items on the menu. They give you free popcorn to snack on while you drink. By the way the drinks are great. They have select happy hour cocktails for $ 5, most containing gin. They have a full bar as well appealing to unique taste. Started off with Silver coin which included tequila 100% agave tripe sec. Ended up getting absenthe with water tower and brown sugar cube. We ordered the Nouvelle Orleans for $ 13, most expensive on the menu. We ended up getting hungry so we ordered the Salmon paste $ 8 and Bronuts donuts ball 3 for $ 4.00 which are like donut holes filled with cream and tossed in crumbs. Banana monkey balls, chocolate, bleau cheese and others.

I fell in love with the Bitter Bar. I didn’t even realize it existed until last night. What a great find, just off the main path. It’s located on 9th and Walnut. They specialize in quality cocktails at a very reasonable price. We tried their signature cocktail first, it’s called the Blue Velvet. It’s a fantastic mixture of lavender liquor and vodka with a splash of almond. Wow! I really loved the flavor of this cocktail. Normally I am more of a wine drinker but this was amazing! Next, we tried the Old Fashioned. What a great drink made with a mixture of rum, bitters and citrus. It was a heavy drink that didn’t taste to heavy. I loved it! We will be back for a specialty cocktail in the near future. The idea of a bar that just focuses on great drinks and not food is exceptional. The atmosphere is romantic with a spin of uptown urban. It has a great feel and unbelievable drinks. You have to try the Bitter Bar. You won’t be disappointed.
