Lizzie Fenton, is the owner of Luminescence in Boulder Creek and also founder of Luminescence Big Island Retreat in Hawaii. Lizzie believes her work is to allow a space for people to relax and get a sense of self for a total body and soul healing. Lizzie offers a blend of different massage modalities as well as light touch energy work to relieve stress and build vitality. Lizzie received her primary training at the Big Island College of Massage in Hilo, HI. Lizzie is a professional member of AMTA– American Massage therapy association

For our anniversary, my husband and I treated ourselves to a couples massage at Luminescence. Lizzy went above and beyond to fit us into her busy schedule. We both did the infrared sauna and then got a massage — which ended up lasting more than 60 minutes (she was very generous with the time!). This was beyond any ordinary massage. Lizzy used crystals on me, and I noticed a pronounced difference after the treatment. I felt safe, relaxed, and at ease around Lizzy and so did my husband. Get a massage with Lizzy — you won’t regret it!

Great Infrared Sauna. I came here specifically because they have the ClearLight brand Infrared Sauna which is known to be low EMF. The particular model at this Day Spa is also very spacious. The price was very reasonable. i got a great sweat and it was very relaxing. Everything was prepared for me each session, such as the towels, water, etc. The audio and lighting in the sauna was also top rate and made the 30 – 40 min. sessions go by fast and effortless. I actually drove 35 – 40 min. to go to this particular day spa multiple times and each time it was absolutely worth it.

Wonderful relaxing environment with very friendly people. I always feel welcome here. The outdoor garden area is great, and the range of teas are wonderful. I have had massages and one reiki session there. The massage was wonderful and I really need to do it more often. The reiki session was new to me, never had one before but it was a much needed dose of positive energy. Lizzie and her other staff always make you feel welcome. I just love this place.

Cute little gem in Boulder creek. Get your Kava on or maybe a tumer ginger tea if you are feeling the need. Or perhaps stay for a massage. It’s a tea lounge and spa with friendly staff. Cool.

On a cruise through the Santa Cruz mountains and stopped in for some tea. The Chai was made in a big pot, hand stirred and strained, and it was delicious! Friendly and informative staff and interesting atmosphere, almost like a friend’s living room. Also picked up some Kava from Hawaii to go.

Love this place! Lizzy is amazing. She really cares about her clients and raises the energy in her space with conscious focus and intention. I always feel great after her massages. Highly recommend. If you don’t live in Boulder Creek it is worth the drive, trust me!

The Massage: Wow, the massage I received at Luminescence was one of the best massages I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of body work. Lizzie combines lomi lomi, swedish, deep-​tissue, essential oils, and hot stones into one ultra-​relaxing and therapeutic experience. She is not only highly skilled but warm and welcoming.
The Tea Room: The Spa definitely has that «Aloha Spirit” — comfortable chairs to relax in and have a cup of your favorite beverage. I would highly recommend the Cacao and Cinnamon Kava Tea as well as the Chocolate Chai, Yum! *****

Luminescence is a jewel in the Santa Cruz mountains. I go there for the occasional facial, and more often, waxing. although the location itself is set in an old, funky building with some wiring challenges (welcome to Boulder Creek, CA!!!), it’s quirky and beautiful and Luminscence is a wonderfully relaxing, laid-​back kind of place. all the services I’ve tried have been excellent, and I’m a happy customer. (and as such, I’m always right!) =)

I read Unilocal all of the time for reviews but this is the first review I have written. What an amazing massage! I will definitely be back for more of the deep tissue massage, hot rocks, essential oils and wonderful energy. Try the relaxing Kava tea! I know I will be going back for a facial soon as well. Local authors and poets visit for evening readings and tea. What a lovely find!

I am so impressed with Lizzy’s Polynesian style massage! It’s deep tissue, knot releasing and the best massage I’ve had in forever that includes hot rocks, soothing essential oils and music — a great value! She been trained well in massage techniques.

What a great find in Boulder Creek! I had a wonderful massage yesterday from the proprietor– she is quite skilled and gave such a relaxing massage. Her store is absolutely adorable and I bought some coconut oil which she used in the massage.
We spoke for a bit afterward and I found out she is moving just a few doors down to a larger location soon. I am so excited to go back for another visit– and another great massage!
