Kim’s Friendly Cuts

First, I’d like to start this review by saying that I tend to be picky about where I get my haircuts. When I find someone that does a good job for a fair price, I am fiercely loyal. I called Kim at 11 am on a Friday to make an appointment for a haircut and a shampoo. She said she could see me in 30 minutes, which was terrific. One of the reasons I stopped going to Sport Clips in Bothell, yes — there are several reasons, was their walk-​in only policy. Sure you can call ahead and have your name put on the list, but I’d end up waiting 30-​minutes, on average. Back to Kim, I walked in and was greeted with a hello and a smile. I sat down for 5 minutes, while Kim finished the men’s haircut she working on, then Kim was ready to see me. She was efficient at cutting my hair and did a great job. I usually get a shampoo so I don’t have to walk around with that «hair-​on-​my-​neck» feeling the rest of the day. the entire process took no more than twenty minutes. If you’re looking for a great haircut for a fair price, look no further. I only wish I’d found this place years ago.

Kim is such an amazing person. Such a kind person to talk to and she does great haircuts as well. I was in the area and needed a good cut, I showed her a picture of the style I wanted and she did everything just perfect. Go see her!!!

Horrible place. I asked her for a layered cut, but I ended up with just a straight cut. And she cut it so short that I couldn’t do anything about it. I even showed her a picture of what I wanted. How can a professional not get it even after seeing a picture what a customer wants??? It was no use talking to her after that, might as well just trash 20 $ bcoz ur jist gonna waste it if you are going there.

I’ve been looking for a new hair place. This place had great reviews and fantastically cheap prices, so I made an appointment. I sat down and showed Kim reference photos of what I wanted. She then asked me what style I usually get and where I got it done. When I told her, she said that she didn’t want to ruin my hair and I should go back to my old place, get it cut there, then come back and show her. Even with several reference pictures, she refused to cut my hair. I’ll continue looking for a new hair salon.

Top notch personal attention from a kind lady and a true independent local business. If you’re giving your money to CorporoCuts for subpar work, stop it. Make Kim your new favorite.

Kim runs this place all by herself. She is very friendly, and keeps the place very clean, cozy, welcoming. It’s an excellent local business for hair cut and hair color. If you are in bothell, just give it a try and you will not regret.

Kim scheduled me at a time where she was working with a customer side by side with me. I came in and I felt like she was rushed. I showed her what i wanted and she just said okay and started cutting. She cut more then I was expecting and I wasnt fully satisfied. I will not be returning. Yes its cheap, but I want someone to listen to what I want, not be rushed and do something her way.

We love Kim’s! Fast, inexpensive, quality haircuts that yield lots of compliments. I found Kim’s on Unilocal and I’m glad I did.

My tolerance for unkempt hair on my 13yo son is a lot lower than his, so I have to nag him for several weeks to get a hair cut and then he finally relents and then it’s URGENT! Sigh. We have been looking for a new place for a haircut since I am tired of paying $ 26 at Sportsclips. Just by chance, a friend recommended Kim’s to us today so we wasted no time and went there right after school.
Kim’s is off the beaten path — behind Applebee’s and Wendy’s on Bothell-​Everett Highway just south of 228^th. For us, that is an easy location, and parking was ample.
We were able to walk in without an appointment and even though my son’s hair wasn’t shower-​fresh clean, she was willing to take him on! He hadn’t had a cut in over 3 months, but Kim didn’t bat an eye. She quickly went to work taking about 2″ off overall, asking a few questions, but also just making some expert cuts and cleaning him up with the precision of a pro. We were in and out of there in 20 minutes. Hair cut was $ 15 (+ tip), which is exactly what a boys cut SHOULD be, not the $ 22 (+ tip) we have paid at Sportsclips.
I think this is our new «go-​to» for my son. He was comfortable there, the salon is clean and professionally set, Kim was friendly and accommodating, and the price was right. We will definitely be back.

Friendly, simple and clean. Great place for down-​to-​earth reasonable hair-​cut with no up selling BS, and no smelly product pushing. I am no glamour-​puss, and Kim was confident and nice, and gave me a real basic and pure cut. No fussing with it or trying to make it do what it doesn’t want to do. Everything even, and not too short. Nice job!

Lyly did a TERRIBLE JOB on my hair cut because she DIDN’T LISTEN to what I was asking. She didn’t care to confirm. She just assumed and did what she wanted. now I have UNEVEN CHOPPY HAIR! It took me one year to grow it! And now it’s gone. I got my money back. I’m willing to pay more but for someone who will LISTEN to what I want. Not worth driving here.

Kim is a spectacular stylist and really cares that you are happy with your cut and style. She is sooooo attentive to detail and very accommodating for walk-​ins. SUPER AFFORDABLE! I miss my last barber in Portland and tried several places in the area (most of them didn’t even ask me the style of cut I wanted, they just BUZZED me!!) and then I found Kim’s Friendly Cuts in Bothell… She will be my hair stylist for as long as I live here or until she retires! Thank you Kim!

Fast, clean, efficient — nice place and convenient location. Kim is a nice lady and good haircut. My husband likes that it’s not a «frilly salon» and I like that it’s not a barbershop type place, a good medium for both of us! I recommend Kim and my hubby goes every couple months to see her, 15 $/​men’s haircut

I visited Kim’s Friendly Cuts today for the very first time after desperately needing a cut for my daughter and myself. Since it is a Sunday my go-​to hair salon wasn’t open, so I opted to try this place out. I didn’t think that Kim was very friendly. She does a «dry cut» (no shampoo and no styling after hair cut), so do not expect the full treatment. But I guess you can’t expect that with the price being so low.
i wanted my daughter to get a short bob cut but Kim disagreed with me. My daughter’s hair was too blunt so I requested she layer it some. Thankfully she did. I
I have pretty thick hair and she kept commenting how thick it was. I’m sorry, I am Asian (as she is) and I have thick hair. My cut looked very choppy at the end and shorter than I would have liked. I will not be returning here. Good thing hair grows back.

Kim was really nice and quick with cutting my hair. I showed pictures of what I wanted and she just went at it. Even though I was expecting more layers, I ended up liking my sharp ends in the end. I even got a lot of compliments on my hair! I think I’ll definitely keep this hairstyle for a while now.

I tried out Kim’s Friendly cuts when I moved to Bothell. I’m not used to new stylists so the first time, I told Kim exactly how I wanted my haircut and how I DID NOT want it cut. I also told her to take it slow. She got it 90% the first time. The second time she got it 100%. Since then, I’ve been coming back.
Kim is indeed very friendly and is also a professional. My advice to first timers is BE CLEAR on what you want and WHAT YOU DON’T WANT. Don’t expect stylists to immediately give you the same haircut you’ve been getting somewhere else for years.
Ask for Kim herself when you call in. I highly recommend Kim’s Friendly Cuts!

Kims is not only friendly, but she treats all of her clients like family! I’m always greeted with a smile and a hug! I’ve never had a bad haircut, or color! All of my friends have asked me, «Where did you get your beautiful color! I immediately tell them about Kims! The shop is clearly taken care of, so open and the atmosphere is one of comfort! ! If you’re in the Bothell area and looking for an excellent haircut at a great price, in a friendly upbeat atmosphere, Kim’s is the place for you. Her hair salon is spacious and clean. Kim is friendly and gives a great haircut. She took into account my specific requests about how I wanted my hair cut, and gave me exactly what I wanted. Outstanding haircut!!! Very reasonable price, too. ;-D I’m glad I found her. Her place is cross the street from the 228^th St SE QFC shopping center on Hwy 527 in North Bothell /​Canyon Park. Kim’s place is on the left, behind the Wendy’s and Applebee’s restaurants.
There was a lady in front of me who had just had her hair colored by Kim, and it looked great !!
I also saw kids playing on the floor the first time I came, so it seems very family friendly.
One thing I really like about Kim is, she takes the time necessary to give an excellent haircut. The place I had my hair cut previously gave a good haircut if there was no one waiting, but if there was walkup traffic coming in and waiting, the hairdresser would start to rush and not do a good job. Not so with Kim. She gives an excellent cut whether there is nobody waiting, or 5 people waiting. Give her a try !
