I called Ed to schedule service for my Dacor oven, and when I told him what the problem was, he patiently explained how I could probably fix it myself (by resetting the heat switch after removing a panel). Of the four service companies I had spoken with, he was the only one who tried to help over the phone, saving me an expensive and unnecessary service call — and I wasn’t even an established customer. I don’t need service for the Dacor now, but I’ll definitely call Ed for any future repairs needed on my appliances. Great experience!

It’s not easy finding non-​warranty repairmen for a Viking range. Ed Smith not only made room in his busy schedule to get me back up and cooking, he assured me that I wouldn’t be seeing him anytime soon since the range is a champ. This was a welcomed review by a professional after reading such horrible reviews about the range online. Some people may not find him warm and fuzzy, but he was having fun teaching me all about the appliance, and didn’t mind me looking over his shoulder while sitting on the floor.

Ed has been an unbelievable help to me for the past five years as my appliances which are now 10 years old have started to fail. He is professional, neat, knowledgeable, honest and shows up when he promises. He finds the problem and fixes it. He carries parts so that there isn’t usually a wait. He is a gem!

Ed has been helpful, responsive and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend him again and again and definitely call him again for appliance repair and maintenance.

Overcharged! Ed was here for 35 minutes and fixed the hinges on our oven. He charged us $ 269. When we called the manufacturer and found out the price of the parts was $ 94 we asked him for a breakdown of charges. He won’t return our call.

I have a Electrolux gallery series French door refrigerator freezer that has had ice maker issues since we bought it in 2010. But that’s another story. Ed worked on it two years ago to replace the ice maker and is helpful and knowledgable. He suggested pulling ice out of it once a month to keep the evaporator from freezing and destroying the fan and prevent problems.
When the ice maker froze up and the water dispenser quit working several months back I tried defrosting the ice maker by shutting down the refrigerator and thawing out the ice maker. Spent a couple of hours holding a hair dryer getting most of the ice chunks melted or removed. No good. No ice and no water in the door. Found Ed’s contact number and called. He called back within a couple of hours. In a couple of minutes he suggested pulling the food out and opening the doors to defrost the fridge section. He gave be some tips about where the water lines were and encouraged me to try that thaw cycle again.
It works now water is flowing out of the door and waiting 24 hours for ice cube babies to appear.
I appreciate a service company wiling to look at my records remember me from two years back and save me some mola. Thanks Ed!

Thanks for tuning the unit and the advice! 12÷8÷2015 and spent an hour on the phone with customer service and looks like I’m gonna get a new refrigerator from Electrolux in charge me and again was helpful in facilitating the problem waste appliance. It from the factory today and the new refrigerator is two weeks away. Thanks for your professionalism and fairness.

Ed helped fix the fan on our stovetop. Prior to coming out he had quoted prices on possible fixes. He fixed it promptly and stuck to his quoted price (which turned out to be a relatively minor problem, and not very expensive). Additionally, we had a problem with one of the hinges on our oven. We asked if he could fix it, and he explained this would probably be a lot cheaper if we did it ourselves. He gave us the name of the place to order the hinge, then spent 5 minutes with us explaining how to take the door apart in order to get to the hinge. Super nice and helpful, and definitely not out to just take our money. Very glad we called Ed and we will certainly call him again with our next appliance issue.

Ed has walked me through a very challenging troubleshooting exercise for my Bosch dishwasher. Hasn’t charged me a penny, and refused to accept any money. He accurately guided me to the proper replacement part, where to buy it and how to replace it myself.
Ed is a small business owner. His time and knowledge are the cornerstone of his business. Yet he helped me free of charge. He has a loyal customer in Kenmore!

We had water leaking all over our kitchen floor from our sub-​zero refrigerator. I called Ed at Eastside Appliance and he gave me a contact who specializes in sub-​zeros, but also gave me his cell in case they were not able to help. When I called the sub-​zero specialist, the receptionist told me there were no technicians available and that I should google my problem. I called Ed back and he walked me through step by step over the phone how to turn off the ice maker which was causing the leak. Ed went the extra mile which doesn’t happen very often these days. I would call Eastside first the next time I have a problem with any appliance.

This guy was rude and acted like he didn’t want my business. I called someone else who actually wanted our business and treated us well.

I just spoke with Ed and he actually helped me troubleshoot my problem over the phone without just automatically coming out and hitting me with a trip charge. Ed was helpful and friendly.

STAY AWAY!!! This company is operated and owned by a single person. Good luck getting any resolution. Edward Smith came to my house after quoting me $ 89 for a diagnosis. He ended up charging $ 269 for labor and parts after replacing a defective part and working on the oven for less than 10 minutes. I researched the cost of the part that was replaced and it was $ 49 (non wholesale). I called him after I paid him to request a breakdown on the bill and he said that he charges a flat fee to all his customers of $ 200. and he then apologized for not telling me up front.
A day later my oven stopped working. When I talked to him he informed me that I was on my own and he would not honor the warranty (12 months warranty).
Currently working with the BBB to resolve this and make sure that everyone knows to stay away from this company.

They were fast in responding, but charge a bit steep on their minimum fee for their initial visit to investigate.
We initially called Eastside Appliance to look at our oven. They came and gave us a quote. The technician said that we could cancel the order anytime. When we decided to go with our insurance recommended company, Eastside Appliance came back stating that we have to pay their minimum fee of 89.95+tax. We tried to ask to lower the fee given that their technician came to look at the oven and did not yet fix the oven. The owner (Ed) simply said that that’s his fee and that he has to make a living, a family to feed and a mortgage to pay. Fair enough. But when we asked for some consideration over this service fee, since he never mentioned this fee would be charged for not availing of their service, he simply replied that «nobody asked».
So we just advised Ed to kindly tell his customers next time that this is what’s going to happen rather than find out at the end.
