What dirtbags. Collection agencies do not need to be nasty. They also don’t need to create questionable business practices to be successful. This place does both. They called me this morning asking if I was the guardian of my 17 year old son — no last names given. He wouldn’t tell me who he was or why he was calling. Then he explained that after my son was caught shoplifting at a store in Edmonds, I have some «civil fines» that I am responsible for. There was no hearing, and I have never heard of this place before and am caught completely off guard — never heard of them before, never received anything in the mail. So he starts pressuring me about «how I am going to take care of this» at 8:00 in the morning while I am driving to work. I told him I would probably need to see the documentation before I made any kind of decision about how or if I would be taking care of anything — seems reasonable, right? I asked him if he just paid random 700.00 bills over the phone sight unseen? He kept talking over me, and speaking very disrespectfully while I kept my cool right up until I hung up on him. Next stop for me? Complaints to the AG office and the BBB. And Unilocal,and facebook, and wherever else I can think of the malign tis place, and this jerk in particular. I hate hate hate predatory and ugly business practices.
Just to follow up — they filed suit against me. They filed it, and didn’t serve me for nearly a month. I think they expect people to just roll over and get charged unjustifiable fees out of fear for their credit rating. Not me. I filed a response and it has been over a month since then. No further activity. I don’t think they expect push back? Looking for free money. While I agree I am liable for the actions of my at the time minor son… They sent me to collections without ever sending me a bill. There is a real need for the service a collection agency provides. Nobody with any respect for their business would hire these people. They are the lowest of the low.
