Good food and great, strong margaritas! Service was slow and it would of been nice to have some better music but overall it was ok. They need to do something to draw in the customers on the weekend, I was there on a Saturday night around 9:30pm and I think only a couple others were in the bar and no one in the restaurant. I will be back.

Overpriced, terrible service. Empty except for a few drunks in the bar. Last time I come here until it changes owners again.

It is sad to go into a restaurant/bar on a Saturday night and be the only ones there besides some employees mingling around. The bar is comfortable and has a nice atmosphere to it. I liked the changing colored lights that display the bottles of liquer. The bartender was very nice but a little slow. I could see how if they were a little busy it may take a while to get service. I thought the food was some of the best local Mexican Food I have eaten in a while. Much better than the large chains. I had 3 different types of tacos my favorite being the Tacos El Pastor. Very good and reminded me of the street tacos of Puerto Vallarta. Great prices and good happy hour specials. The margeretta for 4 bucks was very good and strong. I love good Latin Music but the stuff they were playing was corny and hard to listen to. They would then start playing some horrible American Rap. They have plenty of Tequila to choose from but no Tequila Menu. I hate asking a bartender to have to check the computer to find a Tequila that is in my price range. Overall, it was a good dinner and I would go back for more tacos and good Margaretas

My wife and I are both Mexican foodies. We find this restaurant better than many but not at the top for the vicinity. The prices are mostly comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area. The ceviche is great. Cinco de Mayo celebration is for drinkers so avoid or go early if you want to eat. Waitress dress pretty skimpy. Food came out slow, but it was hot. There were not many customers, so slow food seemed unnecessary.

I’ve been to this place a handful of times with my family because they live close by. All the times I’ve been here, the service has been pretty decent. They were good about filling our waters and checking in on us. As far as the food goes, to me nothing really stands out, it seems pretty average. However I do tend to stick to the same type of dishes/combos, and I’ve never had issues with what I ordered. I wouldn’t say this place is my fave place to go to for Mexican food,(especially since I don’t live in the area), it’s alright.

I would not recommend Blue Tequila. My girlfriend and I got a groupon and were excited to try this place out since it is right up the street from my place. Our groupon entitled us to an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert from the«Prix Fix» menu. The interior of the building looks like most Mexican restaurants I’ve been to: there’s a mural and it looks just a little run down. I will not fault it for that, because the best Mexican places I’ve been to have looked the same or worse off. The service was friendly enough throughout the meal. I cannot fault Blue Tequila for that either. For the appetizer, of the 4 or so choices, we chose stuffed Jalapenos. They were wrapped in bacon, which is a strange choice for a Mexican restauraunt. They were decent. For my entrée I ordered Isabelle’s Favorite, which seemed to have a lot of good ingredients: cheese, chicken, chorizo. The dish itself was a *lot* of melted cheese, quite a bit of heavy red grease, and other stuff I can’t identify. It was edible but I am not a picky eater at all. Filling a bowl full of melted cheese and floating some chorizo and chicken in it does not make a good mexican dish. I feel like this place sells Mexican food far short of what it should be. Lastly, we ordered a cream-filled churro for dessert to go. What we got was 4 or 5 pathetic, small, seemingly burnt chunks of churro that were not filled with anything. The worst part however is the bill. I can tolerate some lackluster Mexican food. Most Mexican food around here just can’t stack up to the stuff I had growing up in California. That is forgivable. But 1 appetizer, 2 mediocre-at-best entrees, and a dessert that looks like it is from the freezer aisle of the supermarket would have cost us(without the groupon) $ 58. That is appalling. Most Mexican restauraunts seem to air on the cheap side a bit and I love them for that. I cannot believe I would have paid over $ 60 after tips for such a disappointing meal rules out any possibility of me returning. We could have easily gotten a spectacular meal at any number of places and probably come out for it well below that price.

Cinco de mayo celebration left a bad taste in my mouth… We’ve been here before this«holiday» and chose this location for a family outing on cinco de mayo. Thought the kids would love the fun atmosphere going on. We were a relatively large group and the hostesses — full of attitude — told us that we would be charged a $ 5 cover charge per person — including kids — to cover the cost of the band they had. What?! really? I could see if we were adults going into the bar, but we were going to be ordering from their menu and we had kids with us?! what i thought was a family restaurant did not turn out that way and I seriously doubt will be back. Luckily, a table did not turn up for us and we went to another mexican restaurant that had a friendly vibe, live music and NO cover charge in the restaurant!

Hubby and I came yesterday for early happy hour and we loved it! At first when we walked in we were a little skeptical; no one was greeting in the main dining area and there wasn’t anyone in there either. We walked through to the bar and there were only a few people in there, but I reminded hubby that it was 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon as well. The bartender asked us if we wanted a menu and we said yes, and then asked if there was happy hour. Fortunately there was. On signs all over the resturaunt they are advertising $ 3.50 for a house margarita, $ 5 for the large and $ 12 for a pitcher! I just had the small and it was great, but it was a little sweeter than I normally like. He mixed some fresh lime as well as orange in there. I also didn’t think I tasted much tequila but hubby tasted it and said there was a lot… not sure how I missed that, but i felt sufficiently warm when I finished it. They have a decent size happy hour menu, but most of the things on there aren’t very mexican. You don’t come here for real mexican food I guess. However, hubby had the fish tacos and I had the shrimp taquitos. I was expecting just the taquitos and hubby was only expecting one or two tacos. Not only did I get rice AND beans with my 4 taquitos, hubby had 3 tacos! For $ 5!!! I thought that was great! We both left full, which we weren’t expecting, and we only paid $ 20 after tip for two happy hour meals and one drink.($ 15 before tip). We will be back to try their regular menu! Service was also very nice in the bar.

Not pleased at all with our dining experience at Blue Tequila. We went last night, which was Cinco De Mayo. The first thing that really ticked us off is that they charged a five dollar cover charge because they said there were two bands playing outside in the bar. We had no intentions of even going in the bar since we had our sixteen year old daughter with us. They were nice enough to wave the cover for her but we still had to pay it even though we were not going to partake in the bands. The next thing was that they had a «special» menu for Cinco De Mayo which consisted of about five things(nothing that even sounded good). We all ordered the super burrito which should have been called a bean burrito because thats about all that was in it. The other thing that I found odd was the décor of the restaurant. It does not have a Mexican feel to it at all. We use to go to the restaurant when it was owned by Tacos Guyamas and we liked everything about it but now we are sad to say we will never go back again.

Pretty slow on a Thursday around 6:30. Service was OK, but that was to be expected for how dead it was. The food was NOT good. $ 15.99 for 3 really bland Shrimp Tacos. There were about 5 or 6 really tiny, way overcooked, pieces of shrimp in each one. Shrimp had no seasoning at all and were pretty dry. Rice was bland, beans were bland. Strawberry Margarita was bland too! It was made with some gross Strawberry syrup, not real strawberries, and was light pink in color. You would think that, at a Mexican restaurant, you would get a kick-ass Margarita, but no. This place won’t last long at this rate. WAY too expensive for what you get. Actually, even if it was inexpensive, I still wouldn’t go back. There is a Taco Bell right next door. I would suggest going there instead.

And my search for an authentic Mexican restaurant with table service continues. The«carnitas»(I put quotes around the word because no self respecting chef would call them that) were nothing like the traditional pork carnitas I have had at numerous other locations. It was a soupy mess of pork and bell pepers. My wife’s soup was basically caldo de pollo and water with one chunk of chicken and a glob of queso fresco sunk at the bottom. Wait staff was very nice, when you could actually get their attention. Otherwise they just walked back and forth totally oblivious to anything. I wish this place spent less on décor and actually took the time to learn some decent recipes.

Ate at this restaurant last night and will not go back. All of our food was barely warm, except the sizzling fajitas. Margarita tasted like watered down tequila, no flavor. Worst of all we ordered two shrimp dishes and all of the shrimp had the black«vein» down the back intact and hanging off on some. I lost my appetite and could not eat. I had a similar experience as H.G. and it took forever to get service and food, the restaurant was not busy at all. I will take my business to the many other great Mexican restaurants in Bothell. I may have tried again if it wasn’t for the really poorly prepared food.

Blue Tequila, Really? Indifferent wait staff. Slow as molasses. It was dead and we couldn’t get served. When the cheese cassedella was brought out it was luke warm. Really? Left and drove a mile down the same road, Bothell Everett Hiway to a real restuarant to eat real Mexican food, where they were glad to have us and the both the service and food were excellent. Will await summer to sit on the deck to give them one more try.

They’re new, so hopefully they will improve. Slow service followed by cold food.
