I went here for the first time today and had a fantastic experience. I learned about this salon at a Women’s Fitness of Boston event and I’m so glad I did! I received a $ 30 card off of any service.
I went in for my first ombré experience and a haircut. I have dark brown hair and emphasized to not make my hair copper/​orange, and that I wanted it pretty blonde. It came out perfect. I’ve never been so happy!
My only complaint is they don’t schedule properly. I waited at least 20 min. For my appt to start and the person after probably waited even longer, because my appt lasted 2 hours.
Overall though this small salon knows what they’re doing! I completely recommend going.

Be careful of purchasing living social deals to this place. I never write reviews but I thought I would at least share the type of person that works at this salon.
I had an appointment this morning at 10:00am and was unable to find the place with the directions I had. It is not somewhere that is easy to get to/​find at all. Right at 10:00am I called to warn Shana as well as ask for further directions as I was already parked and trying to find the salon. After 10 minutes (so 10:10 at this point), she calls me back and tells me that she will no longer see me because I was late and she had a packed schedule and had another client coming in 20 minutes. Honestly, this is a little frustrating since I was RIGHT outside but understandable if she was there alone and did not want to de-​rail her schedule. Although, I don’t know how she thinks its possible to dye, cut, dry someone’s hair in a half hour– so probably a lie, you do the math. Since I already got off the wrong foot with her, I did not really want to go back there and wanted a refund.
The most frustrating part however, was that she marked my living social as «used” — so I wouldn’t be able to request a refund even if I want to. I thought id share to others that she will do this regardless of whether she provided services so expect to buy the coupon and lose that money. After calling multiple times and leaving messages, she finally reversed this– meaning she totally did it on purpose. Save yourself the frustration, and honestly go elsewhere.

Found this place by accident whilst parusing Groupon. Cut, color, blow dry for $ 90! Couldn’t beat it! The location is fantastic and super easy to get to. Love that when Sandy spins my chair around I get to people watch while she works her magic.
Now, first time I went, I wanted to go a deep burgundy color, and she did it beautifully! Unfortunately it kind of washed out after about 5 days. (I think this was partly my fault, I think I was washing too much or something). One quick email to them and I was back in the chair with no charge. Sandy also went above and beyond and got me special red shampoo and conditioner that kept my color amazingly! Every time I washed it, coworkers were asking if I just got my hair done. Just went back for a touch up and cut and Sandy read through my babble of what I wanted my hair to look like and she nailed it!

The only positive thing I can say is that I wasn’t charged for my cut. The length was a disaster. I now hate my hair. Stay away if you value how you look.
I had hair about an inch below my shoulders. I went in with a picture of a woman with bangs and *just above* shoulder length hair. I tend to have a distrust of new hair stylists, and as this was my first time in, I checked in with her almost an embarrassing amount of times about what length she would cut it. We both agreed on collarbone length, which is *just above* the shoulder. She started from the back and by the time she cut around the side, I realized the damage was done. My hair stopped midway down my neck, just below my chin, about 3 inches too short. Nowhere NEAR my collarbone. I have a long oval face with sharp angular features and short, blunt cut would be the very, very last cut I would ever get in the world of hair. I always need a softer cut to balance my facial features. The length was so short I was terrified to even get it shaped up to look softer and lose any more length.
I went in looking for a romantic soft style with bangs that might have cost me 3 inches of hair. I left with a sharp angular blunt bob that cost me 6 inches of hair. Because we weren’t going for a bob, the hair doesn’t even lay as it should if I had wanted one. It flips out awkwardly. The kicker was that she never apologized and blamed it on it a miscommunication. My conclusion is that she is not able to match hairstyles to pictures.
While it was one bad experience for the stylist and she didn’t charge me, I now live in a reality where I hate looking in the mirror. This is my new reality for several months, as my hair grows slowly. I explained this to her at the peak of my upset while in the chair, and how I did this once in high school and it took over a year for my hair to grow back the way I liked it. After a long silence her response was, «Once you get over the shock, you’ll probably start to like it.» I didn’t want to be shocked, I wanted a slightly fresh new ‘do.
I guess I’m getting *slightly* used to it. I cried two times less today than yesterday and even less than the day before that. My signature femininity is lost.
Not only would I not recommend this place to anyone, I openly warn anybody looking here to skip it. Got a Groupon to go here? It’s probably fine, you say? Don’t bother. It’s worth the money to go elsewhere and actually get what you want.
If you, for some reason, decide to go here, take a ruler so that you’re sure she’ll cut off the right amount. Don’t have one in your pocket? Stay far away.

I bought a groupon in my search of a good hair salon for color and cut. Let me sum it up: The search continues.
This is a small and not so friendly salon. No water bottles, no coffee or anything else. I can live without these, not a deal breaker.
Now to the hair services:
I explained from the beginning to Shauna that I would like very much a vibrant red color, (not eggplant like or clown bright either). She showed me the red she had, a dark eggplant-​y dark, which I wasn’t crazy about, but reassured me she’d mix it with brown to achieve the desired result. She seemed to know what she is doing so I trusted her. The dye was very irritating to my scalp and told her right away. She gave me a comb to scratch but otherwise she was indifferent to my concern. The irritation subsided after 15 mins but was concerning.
For a cut she seemed to explain well the «layered cut with bangs» which I agreed on.
My color came out as a dark boring brown (she turned on the lights to prove there was red in there, nope) and the cut… Well I got similar ones at supercuts, without the extra money.
I told Shauna I wasn’t happy w the results but she did not offer any resolution to my problem, not even a single word!
After all it’s my problem now to have this haircut and color I don’t like.
Well Shauna, now it is your problem to explain to your future customers how you fix your mistakes.
And, on a second thought: Why the customers should keep coming back to your mistakes.
UPDATE: Note to self: never write a review when fresh out of the salon. Give it a few days, things need to settle first.
Three days later and my haircut is totally easy to care for and I got to like it. My hair is still darker than I’d like it but had so many compliments (including my family) and I get to like my new self. A lot. So there; my rating went up to a ⁷⁄₁₀. I would have given it even higher if they had tried to remedy the color or throw a couple of highlights. But it still good enough for a new salon

As someone who has had multiple poor experiences w/​color… (My hair is naturally jet black), I’m blown away with the fabulous job Sandy did! I was much overdue for some color as my ombré had grown out and was starting to look super brassy! I highly recommend Sandy… She definitely is my new go to hair stylist! A++++

I went in with a Groupon on NYE, I moved here almost 2 years ago and was hoping to find a new hair stylist to continue going to. It was quite a disappointing experience.
Location is convenient however, a little difficult to find once in the building on the second floor. But that wasn’t the deal breaker. All salons/​stylists take their own time as part of their business very seriously, including this location — so naturally, I arrived 5 minutes early.
Both stylists were with customers, however, in such a small boutique space — I felt a little odd when they both essentially just looked at me, gave a small smile and went back to their work… no hi, how are you, be with you soon, etc. Still not quite the deal breaker but I was feeling a little uneasy about my decision.
The owner completed her customer’s hair, she was finishing up as I walked in. After checking her client out, cleaning up her space, etc she finally came up to me and said that Sandy would be doing my hair and was running a little behind and to make myself comfortable. Sandy was just starting to cut her client’s hair. It was past 4:45p (my appointment time) but I thought okay, shouldn’t be too long right? Wrong.
I finally sat down in her chair about 5:45p. An HOUR after my appointment. Nothing was said to me at all as I sat there waiting. It was awkward and increasingly frustrated as I valued their time but mine seemed to be not their problem.
I watched Sandy cut the client before me’s hair and I thought, she seemed to be thorough so maybe it was worth the wait. It wasn’t. I feel like I got convinced into a cut that was easier/​quicker so I would be out the door faster but I’m not the type to argue with someone who has control of my hair. Needless to say, I sat waiting for my appointment longer than I was serviced and overall, disappointed.
I wanted a pleasant experience to bring me back, for me to bring my future business but to wait an hour, get a quick «sorry about the wait» with no other attempt to keep my business — I don’t know, offer me a better conditioning treatment or to come back another day with a small discount, hell– even if I was told when I got there how behind she was or apologized to maybe it wouldn’t have felt like such a slap in the face as a customer but… that’s life.
The search continues.

Super excited that I found Salon Euphoria. I’ve lived in Boston over four years now and would travel home to get my hair done because I could not find a salon where I felt comfortable going. Finally, when I decided to do something different with my hair I went to Salon Euphoria and met with Shanna. She actually listened to my concerns and answered questions, and really captured my overall vision. She nailed the color and cut which has literally never happened before with my previous hair experiences. I can proudly say I have found my *local hair salon and stylist.

Went here because i was long overdue for a haircut and had a groupon. Sandy was my stylist. I would def go back because i love my haircut. she got rid of my split ends and made my hair look healthy again. I love the way it looks.
I like her just because, personally, she didn’t talk to me much which i personally don’t care for. and she didn’t criticize my hair once. i know i had/​have poor hair, but at certain places, the stylist would criticize my hair telling me what I should do with it, which usually makes me feel super insecure about my hair and makes me not want to get my haircut.
i’m def gonna go back in a couple months to get it cut again, but thinking about going back to get my hair colored with highlights.
i definitely recommend this place. it’s in the jewelry building on Washington street on the second floor.
I had an appointment and was seen exactly at the time i was scheduled for.

Discovered this place shortly after Shanna opened her new location and I am now a regular. The salon is small but has everything it needs with a great people watching view of Washington St. Shanna is so sweet and knows what she is doing! She’s helped me gradually transform my hair back to its normal color and always does a great job with hair cuts without taking too much length. Prices are also quite reasonable. Will keep coming back!

Just went here today and Sandy cut my hair. She was so nice and did exactly what I wanted. I loved the way she cut my hair! I highly recommend it this salon!

purchased a goupon –read some good reviews. salon is cute had a nice hairdresser. I have her very specific directions on what i was looking for. A basic layered cut up to my occipital bone.
My lowerst layer is 3 inches longer then my request.

I recently purchased a living social deal for cut, single process color, and deep conditioning for salon euforia. In general, many things went wrong but let’s start with the positives.
Pros: convenient location, super nice staff, great view for people watching, they allowed my friend to hang out while I got my hair done, and when I was unhappy (see below) Shanna immediately offered to fix it.
Now here are the negatives: I went in and asked for a healthy trim and a chocolate brown hair color– I got exactly that (or so I thought) and initially was so happy! However… within DAYS the color had completely washed out. I also noticed there were chunks of my hair with bad split ends! Upon complaining to Shanna about the color she offered to fix it, but with a bit of email and phone tag it took almost 3 weeks to get it re-​done. When I went in to fix it I explained I loved how it looked at first but that it washed out, despite using color safe products. I showed her a picture of how it looked the first day and said I wanted that again. Upon dying/​blow drying she turned my chair to the mirror… My once brown hair was completely red!!! Not like hint of red, like completely red! I was so shocked I literally panicked and said «well it’s really red.» Shanna then gave advice on how to keep the red… Which only further confused me as I asked for a dark brown. I couldn’t even come up with what to say– so I left (and immediately cried). However I got SO many compliments on the red from friends I decided to embrace the mistake, and went to the store to buy radiant red hair products (suggested by Shanna). Much to my surprise the color faded within DAYS again, and even stained my towels after showering. Now, a few weeks later my hair has more split ends than ever, is a brownish reddish color, and I need a cut/​color way sooner than usual. Bummed because I had such high hopes, but would never go back.

This is my second time going to Salon Euphoria & I really love it! Sandy has cut my hair twice and she does a great job. Keeps it long, but takes off my dead ends. She also does a great job with my bangs! Located right downtown & it’s a good price for the area, especially compared to other salons in Boston.

I don’t even live in Boston anymore and I still come here to get my hair done because both of the stylists are just the best.
The first time I came in, I was so nervous because I wanted ombré hair, but I was scared it would turn out too harsh and I’d look like I dip-​dyed my ends in bleach. Shanna totally got what I was going for, and I left with a perfectly subtle ombré. The next time, I wanted to blonde highlights. But I have never had a blonde that didn’t turn out brassy. Shanna made sure she used enough toner to give me the amazing cool blonde highlights I was looking for, and they came out perfect. Then I dyed my own hair back to brown for my wedding, and Shanna did my updo. I should mention that my wedding was an hour and a half away from Boston, but I drove in the morning of to get my hair done anyways because Salon Euphoria is the only place I know I can go to get exactly what I want the first time every time. Shanna came in on her day off to do my hair, and even agreed to stay and do my sister-in-law’s without any notice. I went back again yesterday for my post-​wedding chop and dye. I couldn’t get an appointment with Shanna, so I took one with Sandy because every time I’m in there, her clients leave looking amazing too, and I had faith she’d do a good job. I went from long brown to medium-​length blonde, and I couldn’t be happier!
As far as I’m concerned, Salon Euphoria has the best stylists around, and their prices are totally reasonable. What more could you want from a hair salon? I’ll never go anywhere else! Unless they move again ;-)

I was nervous when I got a groupon here but have to say Shanna did a fantastic job and I dig my new haircut! It was very affordable, turns out they have a student discount as well… I’ll be back, groupon or not.

Bought a groupon for a wash, deep condition, haircut, and blow dry for $ 45. The location is great right in the Jewelers Building at Downtown Crossing. It’s a one room, two chair salon, so it’s small and relaxing, but a little awkward with the owner right there making phone calls and taking care of business in the same small space. Sandy was friendly and did a nice job! She did exactly what I asked for and what we discussed and I’m happy with the overall cut. The only suggestions I would make is to clarify what this deep condition is that is offered with the groupon. My hair was washed with shampoo and what seemed to be a regular conditioner that was kept in for a few seconds. It definitely didn’t see like a $ 30(before discount) conditioning treatment. If it was, the salon should explain what it is. I’ve had deep conditions before and they’re usually a little more in depth. I could of also asked when I was there, but didn’t feel like speaking up at the time. Worth $ 45, but would never go back for the full price of $ 95.
