The novelty (e.g., «vintage» brands and look), décor, variety and quality are all high up there, but all the items are insanely overpriced. Packaged candy per oz, like a 1.5 oz Cadbury Wispa a or a 1 oz package of Chuckles, is about $ 3.20. Over $ 3 an oz for manufactured candies? The locally made, though not store-​made, chocolate candies and fudge, which taste good, all go for $ 27/​lb. That’s way too pricey by at least $ 7, even considering the Newbury address. Should be $ 20, IMO. I said in my mobile «tip» from August 2013 that the place will not be here in a year. I stand by that if they do not lower prices a bit and/​or offer a hit of a store-​made product they can call their own.

Like all the other reviewers, I love this place. I’m not a big candy person nor have I visited this place often, but Robins makes me so perky when I’m there. The store is small, but crammed with sweet goodies and knickknacks in every corner. The first time I came here they sold hand dipped chocolate covered potato chips. Sadly they don’t do this anymore. There’s also a bunch of international worldly sweets.
I came here with a mission today and not to just fool around. I was looking to get some fancy chocolates to send back to a friend. Lucky for me, this place is decently priced for a Newbury store. I believe the price for chocolates is $ 25 per lb. I bought 2 truffles, 2 barks, 2 chocolate covered Oreos for $ 21. I’ll be back in warmer weather to try the mochi ice-​cream.

The candy here is quite expensive, but that is to be expected based on the location. They also don’t have the best selection. There are very few vegetarian/​vegan candies, especially in comparison to the selection at Sugar Heaven (which is not too far away and far better in my opinion).
The customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes there is great service, other times, when this one girl in particular is working, the customers are treated with a very rude attitude.

I love this place! I am a candy lover so being here makes me feel like a kid again! They have so much to pick from! They have all types of gummies, chocolates and the classics like candy buttons and cigarettes (my sister loves those) oh and who can forget astro pops! Yum!!! Also if you check in on Unilocal you get a free tooth brush which you will need after eating these treats!
I almost forgot to mention the fudge!!! I am not a fan of fudge but the fudge here is really good and worth a try!!! Stop by this great shop for a trip down memory lane!

I came in this evening to get a few treats. I filled up a bag and waited for a good 10 minutes at the register to check out. There was one person working but she was chatting with someone planning to have a candy bar at her child’s party (therefore a great deal more important than me.) After waiting another 5 minutes I left the shop and unfortunately my candy behind.

A great Idea, yes… but far too expensive. The offerings were diverse, almost massive, but the price point was boutique-​ish. They had candy from days of old that I didn’t know were still being manufactured.
Stop by for nostalgia.

A WIDE variety of candy to choose from. They also sell Pinatas, toys, and edible bugs. It’s a little pricey, I paid $ 10 for a chocolate bar with bacon (gift for the bf). Lots of ‘old school’ candy and delicious licorice!

Is there such a thing as too much candy? If so, this place has it.
Some things seemed really cheap, some things seemed expensive, some things seemed ridiculous – a gummy snake? A white trash wine cup? Hey way, I’ve got that and we call it the solice (solo chalice)…

Came here for the first time today and felt like I was in heaven! There is a huge selection of candy and chocolates. My friend and I came here to find the jelly beans with nasty flavors. We looked everywhere and couldn’t find them. However, the sales associate was really friendly and spent over ten minutes helping us find the jelly beans. It was super nice of her and we ended up leaving the store with two boxes of those special jelly beans.
They also sell candy/​snacks from other countries which is really cool! It’s quite overwhelming when you first come here because there is literally 10 bajillion different candies at every inch of the store and you just want to look at everything.
I can’t wait to come back! I prefer this store over Sugar Heaven on Boylston Street.

If you’re looking for licorice in Boston, this is your kind of place. The store offers a sweet (sorry for the pun) amount of hard to find candies (like wine gummies) and the staff is very helpful. The gummi candy selection was actually kind of sparce — given the popularity of gummi I thought there would be more. The store layout is kind of confusing, but if you’re looking for something in particular the store employees are very helpful and can point you in the right direction. If you’re looking for a variety of candies for a special occasion, this would be a great place to shop. If you’re looking for a bunch of candy in bulk at more affordable prices, you’re better off going somewhere else — this place can get expensive quick. But again, if you’re looking for a specific kind of candy that’s hard to find, this is likely your best bet in town.

This place is more beautiful inside than Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka… well, almost. What an awesome store! I’m not a sweets lover, but was attracted to the store by it’s colorful look.
I wanted to buy everything just cuz!!! The manager was on hand and awesome about answering our questions. There are sweets and treats featured from each decade and great references to pop culture icons.
There are also cool little items marketed in such a way that you just can’t resist buying… a rubber ducky hat and boot set for instance.
Fun spot to check out. Don’t miss it if you’re in the hood.

So many different kinds of licorice! I was actually looking for a lunch place… as in real food and veggies but who says you can’t buy your candy before?
It’s very much one of those old school candy shops with jars full of candy I haven’t seen in ages, and a lot that I’d never seen at all. Knick knacks and cute toys, they also have a little bakery case full of chocolate and cookies and even mochi filled with ice cream.
I was drawn to the licorice since I don’t see it that often and there were many I’d never tried so I filled up a bag with one or two of each.
The only downside is the price, those grams of sugar add up fast!
And speaking of sugar, you get a mini toothbrush with your purchase, just what I needed for after all my candy eating :)

I don’t think it’s possible to love a store more, and I don’t possess the sweetest of teeth.
Robin’s is a place of wonder, of merriment and of piles and piles of pliable, peanutty and puffy pieces of enamel-​eroding ecstasy.
From gummy and Jelly Belly everything, to frozen mochi and a full spread of licorice hailing from points across time and space, if it can rot your teeth, Robin sells it by the barrel. Or larger. Find another place that hawks more species of the World’s Largest fill-​in-​the-​blank, and I’ll give you a shiny nickel.

Your inner dentist would like to remind you there’s more than just sweet in this shoppe. Peep the stock of gifts, goods and gags I’d refer to as «luxe Spencer’s» in nature. Snagged a handmade chalkboard globe for the fiancée, and she lurrrrrrves it. The world’s largest underwear, however, was not as big a hit.
The staff (often Robin herself) are sweeter than their wares, and while the bulk may be pricey, it’s the only thing that’ll keep this candy a sometimes treat. Your will gets the pink slip the moment you step in the door. Be sure to ask for your round Tuit!

I was immediately transformed from a reasonably mature adult to an overexcited, bouncing-​off-​the-​walls kid the instant I walked into Robin’s Candy Shop. Everywhere I looked were colorful shelves and cases bursting at the seams with candy. With every passing minute, I felt more and more like a five year old visiting a candy store for the first time. And in my five year old mind, I was saying, «please mom, can I have this? And this? And THIS!!!»
But in reality, I am a 25 year old, and there was no mother around to beg, so I had to rely on nothing but my own willpower to keep me from buying everything in sight. Robin’s sells everything from the typical sweets you can find elsewhere, to the highly unusual, and everything in between. They have a great selection of fudge, which is one of the few sweets that I just cannot resist whenever I come across it. They have your regular old chocolate and vanilla fudge, but they also have flavors I’ve never heard of before, like southern red velvet. I bought a ¹⁄₃ lb slice (the smallest weight that they sell), and it was heavenly, and really tasted like red velvet!
Next to the fudge, you’ll find a large case full of chocolate goodies, ranging from chocolate covered pretzels to gigantic Hershey bars. I bought a few truffles to try (black raspberry, orange, and salted caramel). They were rich and delicious, as any chocolate truffle should be. They’re slightly bigger than your average truffle, too. I’m eating my last one as I write this… Mmmmm!
I’m not much of a licorice fan, but I did take some time to explore their licorice station anyway. And ended up leaving with a small bag of goodies. They also have an M&M station, where you can fill up a bagful of M&Ms of every shade and color imaginable.
I echo everyone else in saying that all of the staff, including Robin herself, were incredibly helpful and friendly. This is a perfect place to go gift hunting for that person with the really big sweet tooth, but I guarantee you won’t leave without buying a treat or two for yourself as well.

Lovely place, and the workers are SO NICE! They are there to answer questions, help you find something you might not even know you like, and even give you free samples to boot!
We have already been back twice and this will probably be a spot where we stop EVERY time we make it to the Back Bay.

Have been wanting to check this place out for a while, and happy I finally did!
I got some amazing dark chocolate salted carmels and dark chocolate salted caramel truffles (…yes, I have a salted caramel addiction).
Also got some of those Charms cherry lollipops you never see anywhere anymore, my mom got some turkish taffy, a jumbo chocolate tortoise candy for my Dad and a cookies & cream cup (like a jumbo Reeses cup but cookies & cream) for my sister– there’s definitely something for everyone.

THE coolest candy store anywhere. I passed it a few months ago and had been wanting to bring my girlfriend (and fellow candy-​lover) there for a while. We were welcomed so kindly when we went in and they had everything you could want, even my favourite: chocolate covered ginger and orange peel. I was like, well, a kid in a candy store.
Their prices are not too bad, especially for loose candy. The chocolate is around $ 25 per pound. And they have frozen mochi in numerous flavours. The décor is vibrant and bonkers. I love it. More than just candy, too. This would be a super place when planning a fun party. I’m sure to go back… probably next weekend! ;-)

A fantastic little candy store. Spent way more time in here than is probably healthy for someone easily swayed by giant Reese’s cups and every color of M&M’s.
The staff are friendly, engaging and worse — encouraging — so if you’re the type to be easily persuaded you shouldn’t even walk in the door. Otherwise you’ll be leaving with five kinds of licorice and a couple of Mochi.
Best find? Drumstick chopsticks. Worst find? World’s largest underpants. Don’t ask.

Strolling through Candy Land was a trip down memory lane.
Their stock is exceptional in it’s depth and diversity.
I walked all the way there today, for birthday presents,
and was so disappointed to find they WERE CLOSED
for employee training. I left a note saying my time was wasted,
and was a Back Bay customer who needed reliable hours.
The 5 STAR OWNER emailed me the same day,
apologizing for not having enough staff on board yet,
and offering me a coupon for my next visit, which will be this week.
