Delicious food, theres a huge choice of items, this is def a place you need to eat if you’re in the area.

I had an absolutely superb experience at fire and ice. I have written this restaurant off years ago from a bad experience there. But it was my son’s 13^th birthday and he wanted to go to this restaurant, what my prince wants he gets it was his actual birthday yesterday. So I reluctantly made a reservation for a party of 8. I honestly did not have high expectations on the experience here based solely on my past experiences at fire and ice. My waitress Ayanna was an absolute sweetheart and very accommodating to our needs. We had some last minute attendees and she accommodated our party of 8 to a party of 12, she was quick on her feet with drink refills, clearing dishes from the table, and making sure that we had everything to make my son’s birthday celebration special. We begin to dine by going to make our selections at the raw bar to have them cooked on the grill. The selections were a spread of seafood, meats, fresh vegetables, herbs, and finally they added spices to the menu selection. For my first plate I dined on large shrimp, mushrooms, onions, scallions, and a chipotle steak and it was delicious! For my second plate I chose a burger and I selected mushrooms, onions, and cheddar cheese to go on my burger. It was heaven to my taste buds, the best burger I’ve had in months, the chef Manny knows his way around the grill and he was eye candy (I didn’t know those still existed). The best part of the meal was when I told Manny it was my son’s birthday, he invited him to the grill for the restaurant to sing happy birthday! Would I recommend going to this restaurant, hell yeah! I already have a ladies night being planned but I just have to get Manny’s schedule first.

Okay, maybe this just isn’t my cup of tea. The idea of picking raw proteins off of a salad bar-​esque surface really does not appeal to me. The meat is on ice, but I couldn’t help but wonder how long it might have been there.
All of the food seemed to be pretty standard fair and creativity, being the thing that appeals to most people, was actually minimal. You could have rice or noodles and add ‘fixins’ to make it seem like your own creation. At the end of the day, it’s all stir-​fry of some kind. There were zero non-​red meat options for burgers (i.e. veggie burgers or turkey burgers) and the hot dogs looked like they were regular frankfurters from CostCo or wherever.
The guys around the grill (which was DISGUSTINGLY dirty, btw) were more into talking to one another than interacting with the customers. One guy kept running around and shouting, «I’m heading out!» as he left for his shift. He kept bouncing in and out of the circle as if anyone would care. All he really did was make a spectacle of himself. It wasn’t funny or entertaining. The sides of the grill had old food and oil dripping down the side of it. When I saw the poor soul who had to scoop the food out with his bare hands, I almost cringed. Gross.
The wine menu is scarce, but did include the staples (Kendall Jackson). The $ 12 price tag on a glass was a joke given that the whole bottle costs that much. The fruity drinks were what you would expect at a dive bar anywhere in Boston. Blue Curaçao has not been a popular mixer since 1990, I believe.
The décor in the restaurant is definitely vintage. The owners could probably score a $ 5-​$ 10 increase in the price just by sprucing the place up a bit and getting rid of the smell of old mops that permeated the entire restaurant. If you’re looking for décor that’s a bit Square Pegs meets Saved by the Bell… you’ll love it at Fire and Ice.
The only reason that I was unable to give this restaurant a 1 Star rating is because the wait staff was super nice. These young people were working their hardest to make everyone smile. Even when the server brought us the wrong cake for a birthday, they managed to make a good-​hearted joke about it.
For those looking for a nice meal, DO NOT go to Fire and Ice. If you are a 20-​something looking to fill your gut with a lot of food before going out to drink like a fish… by all means.

Go here when you’re really hungry– Mongolian food in buffet! Worth the money for the varieties they offer.

I had to go with friends a few time since they were attracted to the show of it, but every time I go I got sick from all the salt in everything. With that and the slow service upstairs, I vowed to never eat there again.
However, on a whim I went to meet a friend for drinks and EVERYWHERE else was packed. We couldn’t find anywhere under capacity (it was company holiday party time-​poor planning on our part) so Fire and Ice was literally the only place we could go. And I use the term literally literally.
Not only did it take 8 minutes for our first drinks (whisky ginger ale and a g+t) but ordering chips and guac was a total bust. The waitress at the bar said we could order from her, but then never put the order in. After 27 minutes I asked her about the order and she rudely said «yeah that’s almost out» then went to her register to put the order in after giving me the stink eye. The food was out shortly after, but the chips were burnt and guacamole scarce.
It then took another 16 minutes to get our check where it was thrown in front of us with a grunt. Nope.

Fire & Ice is a great interactive eatery. My recommendations and observations are as follows. Best time to go is opening on Sunday, that way you get Brunch. It is $ 15.99 per person all you can eat. Drinks, Desserts & Appetizers are ala crate. It’s also not to crowded.
At Fire & Ice the Place is clean, Staff is friendly and helpful, & Prices are on Par.
This is a 2 floor Restaurant with a Bar on the first floor and the eatery grill on the second floor. Fire & Ice is wheelchair accessible wheel right in. there is a very small rickety old elevator to get to the restaurant floor.
My Observations are this:
Get there early at opening. This place can fill up quickly.
Go with a group of people who are Adventurous «No Duds Allowed»
Food is Fresh but changes daily. if eating here for lunch don’t expect higher ticket meats like Steak, Shrimp, Crab that kind of thing those are reserved for the Dinner crowd.

Fire & Ice is a great place to eat for the adventurous foodies out there… «Its your world, Eat It»

Cool idea, filling your bowl with whatever you want and then bringing it up to watch it cook. With great power to create your dish comes the chance you’ll mess it up though. I lucked out and made my first bowl pretty good, but on my second trip up I used way too much sauce and seasoning. It ended up helping me in this case, but for seconds/​thirds/​etc you have to use a small little metal bowl that holds a lot less than the bowl that you get for your first trip up.
I felt that the quality of the food was ok, it looked fine, was VERY filling some how. I don’t really feel like I ate all that much food but was absolutely stuffed when I left.
The chef working when we went was awesome, flipping the food up, catching it on the plate, doing fire tricks, etc. If you go, I think it should be as much as for the entertainment as for the food. If you go solely for the food, well. I hope you’re better at picking ingredients than I am, good luck!

Food is solid, nothing too special. The format of the restaurant is interesting but it comes with a decent wait everytime you want your food made. If you’re like me and want to try small quantities of multiple things before you know your liking, sit tight its going to take a while. The food comes out great but I hate the fact that you’re walking around bumping into people especially when the place is a little busy. The waiter is completely useless (only serves drinks) and yet there is a mandatory service tip. Worst of all is the cleanliness. You will get other things mixed into you food. Personally I’m a picky eater and I just hated seeing the food from the person next to me getting mixed into mines. Plus the grill’s are not clean whatsoever. Regardless, its a cool place to check out. Just needs a few improvements.

Great food, great atmosphere.
Pretty crowded on a Sunday night, but we had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving.
The food options are really good, and despite being very busy the wait for cooking was not really bad.
We went back for 3rds.
Our drinks (beer & margs) were delayed, though not so long we were annoyed, but still they apologized & gave them to us for free.
Price was $ 80 for 5 people, which is a great deal.
I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Seemed like a great experience at first when I walked in but as the dinner went on I changed my mind. The crowd was pretty good on a Sunday night but not overly crowded. So I went up for my first bowl, and it’s a little crowded with all the people walking around but not too bad.
Problem is what you might expect when you have one chef «watching» 20 orders… you’ll end up with overcooked food, and you’ll be standing waiting for your food for quite a while.
Place is probably okay on a non-​crowded night, but I’d skip it if there are too many people.

Wait service is lacking, its so busy here we had 3 different waiters coming back and forth to our table. Food is delicious but the appetizer hummus plate seemed not fresh, like it was made yesterday and left in the fridge uncovered. Idk if we will come

What a cool place this was! As a New Yorker, this is such a new buffet. I’m sure there’s one like this in NY but just haven’t found it. There’s a huge variety of veggies, meats, spices, sauces, fruits, toppings. The virgin piña colada was also amazing! This would be great for a small party like a date, or large groups of friends.

Celebrated my birthday at one of my favorite all you can eat buffets. They have seasoned meats and a good selection of seafoods. The fajita sauce is my favorite and the tortillas are very light. The food is delicious and you make it how you want so you’ll always be satisfied.

They removed the Quesadilla from the $ 5 menu at the bar area downstairs. HUUUUUUUGE bummer. But! They added new drinks to the $ 5 menu so that keeps me coming every week after work. The other $ 5 apps are fine but the quesadilla was our favorite (mine & my coworkers). Please put it back

I enjoyed the experience. It was pretty unusual and fun.
In the beginning it was a little overwhelming, have to think fast about the combinations of what you are going to mix. I had 2 servings of whatever I mixed. The first one was great, second was meh.
2 guys — cooks were rocking. As it was getting busier I was feeling compassionate for them: hot grilling job on the line while being on the attention spot for hours.
What would be great: if they had suggestions of combos.
I think the place like that definitely deserves attention.
But whether you are going to like it or not is pretty suggestive.

Great place to go with a group or just 2. The variety of options is great and they even have a separate grill for those with allergies or dietary restricts. The Monday college night for $ 10 is the best deal in town, I have to be rolled out of here. While he quality may not be out of this world, the experience, quantity and price are unbeatable. The cooks have tons or personality and make the line bearable. The only reason this place is not a 5 star is because the service is a hit or a HUGE miss. Considering it is a buffet place, the serves aren’t that strapped with running back and forth to the kitchen however I have had numerous occasions where a drink came put wrong, we were charged for stuff that we did not order, and there must be a drought because they rarely fill the cups.

So the idea of this place is great. You pretty much gather whatever you want into a bowl and then you watch people cook it right in front of you. The problem is that not everyone on this earth is a chef so how am I suppose to know how to spice my fish or which sauce goes best with my chicken. Either way after you gather all the meats, veggies, spices, and sauces you take it to watch them cook it for you but the problem is that they will always over-​cook it. They also have only one style of cooking which is grill and honestly pasta on the grill– not so great. They need to work on the concept a little bit but very interesting idea.

I’m not sure how to really feel about this place. The best way I can describe it is Dave & Busters (décor) meets Benihana (concept). In theory, this place is fun– but I ended up not really satisfied with my food. And it felt like the fun of a sit down restaurant (leaving the work of creating and cooking a dish to the establishment) is kind of blurred here.
After being seated, you are given a large white bowl. You are instructed to gather meats, starches, veggies, and a cup of sauce from buffet style stations. After gathering your ingredients, you bring it over to the cooking area. At first I thought I could be super creative, and really make something tailored to what I like, but as mentioned before– I wasn’t happy with what I chose (and quickly realized I’d be a terrible chef). For the creation part of this dining experience, I really wish they offered some guidance– perhaps some recipe ideas and suggestions posted around the buffet stations.
Once you head over to the giant cooking area, knowing what to do next was hectic and super confusing. My friends and I went on a Sunday night, and the area around the cooking area was packed. We ended up just kind of standing around, not knowing what to do. There really should be one person stationed there to help people find a spot. Once you do get a spot, you wait for the cook to take your food.
At any other hibachi style restaurant, there is some entertainment to go along with watching them cook. This is lost at Fire + Ice. There are no tricks, nothing that makes you go «oooh» and «ahh». It was so lackluster, I left my food with my friends to go sit down at our table– because there was literally nothing to see. All I remember is the cooks yelling at each other, playing fighting here and there, and talking sassy to guests. All things I can see on a NYC subway ride. Boring.
The two saving graces were awesome giant drinks and an ice cream sundae bar.
Despite not being thrilled overall, I would go back if it was with friends. Now that I understand the layout and flow of things, I might be happier the second time around.

Fire + Ice has a grown up new venue, and it’s hotttt. Or is it cool? Either way, it’s sleek, sexy, and attracting a new crowd to what used to be a «young adult» spot. Under FiRE is the aptly named modern, trendy sister restaurant and bar, located directly under the Berekely Street location of Fire + Ice in Back Bay, Boston.
The Marcia to F+I’s Jan Brady, under FiRE’s tagline is «grown up, not buttoned up», and it delivers. A zig-​zag white marble bar pays homage to the traditional sharp edges of F+I’s branding and mirrors the flame logo of under FiRE. Décor is minimalist chic, with space for 80 spread among hightops and low tables, and 15 at the bar. Pendant lighting gives the sophisticated aura you seek ’round these parts with enough light to read your menu sans iPhone glow.
Director of Operations Raf Barbosa put all servers through a six-​month craft cocktail training, which you can taste while sampling the diverse options on the drink menu. Blackberry moscow mule was superb, with strained blackberries (!!) and served in the traditional copper cup. The Fire Tea really was an unexpected twist on the Long Island, with a pink color and a light flavor that is way, way better than the usual extra dose of pre-​packaged sweet and sour mix you find at most bars.
Food-​wise… well, come hungry. You’ll want to try everything. The buffalo calamari is to die for, with a blue cheese dip that has just a hint of sweetness. Definite must-​try. The peruvian chicken and gorgonzola quesadilla was delicious and I loved the sauce drizzled on the plate. It would be fantastic with a creamy balsamic, but for a bar to be getting that particular that I’m seeking the appropriate food pairings for peruvian chicken and gorgonzola? I’d say that’s a good problem to have.
Service was excellent, experience was great. Under FiRE really is a brand of it’s own and destined to be a huge success. Can’t wait to go back to try the tacos, or burgers, or sweet potato tater tots, or literally anything else on the menu.

Fire and Ice ist ein typisches All-​you-​can-​eat Barbecue Restaurant mit einigen Stanbdorten in den USA. Sehr ähnlich zum mongolischen Barbecue kann man sich aus frischen Zutaten eine Schüssel zusammensuchen, mit der Sauce nach Wunsch veredeln und an den großen Runden Live-​Grill bringen. Dort stehen 4 – 6 fleißige Griller an einer runden Grillplatte und arbeiten im Kreisverkehr die gewünschten Kombinationen ab. Das ist als Neuling etwas verwirrend, aber man hat das Prinzip schnell raus. Ein Nachteil ist aber leider, dass man die ganze Zeit am Tresen warten muss, und das Essen nicht zum Tisch gebracht bekommt. Allerdings machen die Jungs am Grill immer ein paar Späße und Kunststückchen, so dass einem eigentlich nicht langweilig wird ist halt nichts für eilige. Ich war ein paar Tage in Boston mit einem Kollegen und wir sind von drei Abenden zweimal dort gelandet, weil es direkt bei unserem Hotel war und man an einem Abend gar nicht schafft alles zu probieren, was man probieren möchte. Neben dem klassischen Fleisch, Fisch und Gemüse gibt es auch viele Desserts und eine Burgerstation. Da Amerikaner All-​you-​can-​eat lieben ist es immer sehr voll und laut, es verteilt sich aber einigermaßen gut und am Buffet ist es auch nicht zu voll. Der Preis liegt bei etwa 17 $ p.P., Getränke kosten allerdings extra (Wir hatten zwar leider keine, aber die Cocktails am Nebentisch sahen super aus). Alles in allem ist es aber sehr lecker und unterhaltsam nach dem zweiten Abend hat man dann aber auch erstmal genug.
