Boardwalk Properties

My husband and I sent several emails and requested email response. Why management give out email address, if they do not bother reading or responding to emails. MY husband and I specifically requested an email response. I did get a threat via a text over three weeks ago. Is that how you resolve problems by threatening a victim?
I specifically ask to communicate via an email. Is there anything wrong with it?

Our broker Alex Hardy was phenomenal. Pickings on apartments were slim while we were trying to move this December but Alex made it a point to show us as many apartments as he could. Even when we asked to see an apartment that wasn’t originally listed by him, he had the keys and we had a showing the next day. No pressure, great demeanor and no nonsense broker. He listened to our requests and didn’t waste our time or his by showing us places that just wouldn’t work. I highly recommend Alex to anyone who’s in the market for an apartment in the JP area, he knows his stuff and helped us rent the perfect apartment. No doubt, if we’ll be giving Alex a call if we are looking again!

Kevin Garraway is the worst realtor ever! Because of him alone, I would never recommend anyone to this business. He is very unprofessional and rude. He comes to your house dressed like he is going to play basketball and the language used will quickly make you feel uncomfortable.

Absolutely terrible business. Their main goal is to get you to sign a lease as fast as possible so that they can collect their «realtor fee». Once you have done this, you will not hear from them again and if you do they will be very unhelpful. Alaji, one of their realtors did exactly this to my roommates and me. They are rude, inexperienced and scheming. If possible look elsewhere for a realtor. I highly recommend you do not use this realtor. Good luck!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a 1br close to the T on a tight budget. We talked with Steve Shaw and with Taj Leblanc, and had great experiences with both agents. We discussed our must-​haves, our dealbreakers, and where we could compromise. The showed us several properties (on a Sunday no less), helped us hone in on what we wanted, and eventually helped us win on an offer for $ 50/​month less than asking. Plus, we found out after we decided to sign that the building has A POOL. IN BOSTON. Huge bonus for any apartment outside of those ridiculously priced luxury buildings. (Also included: hot tub, grill.)
We had a great experience, and we heartily recommend Boardwalk, Steve, and Taj.

Update: Both the owner and my rental agent contacted me and assured me the woman I had issues with no longer works for the agency (shocking). I’ve updated my review to reflect the folks that actually work there.

At first I was really impressed with the folks at Boardwalk. They actually talked the landlord down from the original rental price which I thought was impossible. There were no pressure moments, and everything was very professional. We actually originally said no, and there were no scare tactics or BS from the rental agent. He was very understanding of a tough situation.
Then they got our money.
My girlfriend and I showed up with a check for several thousand dollars to cover the balance of the initial payments. That’s a lot of money to some people… namely me. Some woman sees us come in and starts glaring at us like we’re 12 year olds pocketing bags of Skittles in the back of a Tedeschis. She got off the phone eventually and snatched up our check without ever asking who we were, who our agent was, or which apartment it was for and tried to shoo us out of the building. I had to dig in and convince this woman to actually document the transaction so that it might actually get where it needs to while she gradually lost her mind. She huffed and puffed the whole time and actually tried to talk me out of wanting a receipt and a photocopy of my check like a sensible person would want just because she didn’t want to make the trip to the photocopier. Folding up a month’s paycheck into a paper airplane and blowing it down Tremont St is cool and all, but I’d like some minimal proof of where my money is going.
⁴⁄₅ for the rental agent. ¹⁄₅ for the woman that told me there’s no such thing as a receipt.

I decided to move off campus fairly late in the game and found it difficult to find a realtor who would help me. I called 5 – 10 real estate agents throughout the city and most of them didn’t want to deal with 1 person looking for a short term lease. I spent weeks searching through craigslist, trulia and Zillow and got almost nowhere.
I got John’s number through a friend that had rented an apartment in the Symphony area, and him and Boardwalk were extremely helpful. Throughout the process I dealt with a couple other agents at Boardwalk due to scheduling conflicts/​etc. I was impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness of Boardwalk with even such a small deal. I will definitely be using them when I look for an apartment this upcoming year, and I highly recommend them!

I rented an apartment through Boardwalk and I can’t tell how helpful they were. The service was excellent, much better than any company I’ve used in the past. I really like my apartment right now! I totally recommend them!

I worked with Dennis & Carl. Even though I didn’t rent an apartment with them in the end, they were really helpful. I only had 2 days in Cambridge to get the lay of the land and find an apartment. Carl asked me a bunch of questions about what I was looking for found me some good units in my range, and Dennis took me around to see them (he even picked me up from my hotel which was great because I had no idea where anything was initially), and even took me around for a good hour showing me all the various boroughs on the red line on a Friday night (not many people would be willing to do that on a weekend). Overall, great service and these guys were going out of their way to make sure I didn’t slip through the cracks.

I was in s jam and Jacqueline found me am apartment, after a few tried and conversations in which she failed to grasp the concept that I didn’t know the area well enough to say which areas I would or wouldn’t want to live in. I made my deadline spending hundreds more per month than I wanted and wasted a bunch of money pay boardwalk for a place I should have contacted myself. And left me wondering how many others might have been even cheaper. Don’t waste your money unless you’re desperate like I was.

Kevin Rivera at Boardwalk Properties in Mission Hill is the best realtor I have ever had the pleasure of working with! After meeting with multiple realtors from Craig’s List ads, I was tired of being shown crappy, over-​price properties, and then getting pressured from sleazy realtors. Kevin showed me a variety of properties at different price points. He gave me honest, good advice without pressuring me to write a check on the spot. I am beyond happy with my current apartment, and I owe it to Kevin at Boardwalk.
