My boyfriend and I used Brian Unger from Atlas Properties. We are both young professionals and were moving from Vermont with a quick deadline. He showed us so many different apartments and really catered to the locations we wanted. I even sent him links of different apartments, which he was able to show us. We got the perfect apartment and he made the process a piece of cake. We will defiantly be using Brian and Atlas apartments for our next apartment search!

Scott Farrell is on his game. Our condo had 12 offers and he negotiated our way to the top in a tough market for buyers. When we got down to the final two, he worked his magic so our offer was accepted from an owner living half a world away in Singapore. He is 24 – 7, non-​stop accessible and ready to help. Now we have a solid investment for years to come. Go with this guy, he will make things happen.

I use Atlas Properties as the exclusive agency to rent my Beacon Hill apartments. The biggest concern a landlord has is the quality of the tenants being brought in, and I know from experience that Atlas would never place someone financially unfit or otherwise in one of my apartments without fully disclosing every detail. They are also extremely prompt in getting vacant units rented, usually no longer than a week. I highly recommend Brian Unger for rentals, (finding or listing) and Scott Farrell and Marc Russo for condo sales. I never ended up purchasing a condo through them, but they patiently showed me every possible condo that fit my criteria, and never used any pressure tactics to get me to agree to something that I didn’t feel comfortable with. 5 stars!

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of working with Brian Unger when searching for our apartment in Boston. We’re both young professionals transferring to Boston from New York, and we didn’t have much time to look at apartments.
Atlas as a company was extremely competent. Their automated emails and easy to use user interface made it very easy for us to filter through the places we liked, and the places we didn’t like.
Throughout the entire process, the personal touch that Brian added to our search was invaluable. He was incredibly professional, and extremely prompt in his responses to our questions throughout (though there were many).
Between the two of us, we’ve moved into three separate apartments in New York and can honestly say that we’ve never had a better experience. I would highly recommend Atlas, and Brian in particular, to anyone looking for a place in Boston.

We recently used Atlas Properties to find an apartment in the back bay. Of course when I say «used» I mean we were forced to pay Atlas Properties their entirely undeserved broker’s fee simply because they happened to be the ones who spent ten minutes letting us into the apartment. By my reductive math they earn the equivalent of $ 15k/​hour in situations like that. The entire rental broker system in big cities is unacceptable, but that is another rant.
The individuals from Atlas Properties knew nothing about the property, they «never got» countless emails from us asking about move-​in logistics, they were unable to correctly interpret the emails that they admitted to receiving, and they are either physically or psychologically incapable of hitting «Reply All» when responding to an email.
The rare times we did get a response, the only info we ever received was, «Not sure, we’ll ask the owner,» but there was never any follow up. As soon as we had the property owner’s contact information we communicated with him directly and actually got what we needed.
Not that anyone has much choice in the matter, but if possible I’ll avoid Atlas Properties in the future.

My fiancé and I had an amazing experience working with Scott. We were first time buyers and Scott was helpful with all of our many questions and always made time to talk us through things, regardless of the time of day. Scott quickly understood our needs, likes, and dislikes, and we were able to find the perfect condo within a few weeks. His extensive knowledge of Boston neighborhoods and total honesty helped us understand what location would be best for us. Scott never made us feel pressured into buying something that we didn’t love. He has an expansive network of people that helped us through the buying process and also minor renovations after we moved in.

My boyfriend and I only had one day in Boston, so we really had to find a good apartment that day. Siomara was extremely patient with us, driving us all over the city to see places for hour after hour. She was persistent with other realtors, helping us get into places at the last minute when we weren’t satisfied with the eight or nine that we’d already seen. She went above and beyond, even offering to drive us back to Cambridge, where we were staying. We’re very glad that she was able to set us up with our new place!

Scott Farrell! This man is truly a super agent. I moved to Boston from Los Angeles and was looking to purchase a condo since July of 2013. I contacted several real estate brokers/​agents and explained what I wanted. All of them said «we will send you MLS listings, tell me if you like any of them” — then I would keep getting email after email of properties that we didn’t like. Finally, Scott contacted me since I had registered on their website. The first time I spoke to him he assured me that he would find my wife and I a condo that suited our needs. He did exactly that. He listened to what I wanted, and searched actively to find the right place. We went to three showing until he showed us the condo we ended up buying. When we left the showing, he knew that this was the one we wanted. Scott asked me to make an offer based on the current price per square foot in that area. I did just that– however, I was quite fearful since the Boston real estate market is soooo crazy (all condos were going for way over asking). I signed the offer, and 10 minutes later I called Scott to increase our bid several thousand dollars. He said «NO– know this broker and I think I’ll able to get this condo for you at the original offer amount». I was still worried but decided to lay back. Scott called me an hour later with great news– the condo was ours. However, it didn’t end there. My wife and I are both residents in the health field and have very little income. No one wanted to give us a loan! Scott recommended a bank that he thought would most likely approve our loan. Scott not only made the recommendation, he also negotiated our interest rates down tremendously. Even after our loan was finally approved he still maintained daily contact with us to make sure all the funds were properly transferred.
Unfortunately, due to the real estate market in Boston most agents don’t want to work. This is just not the case for Scott Farrell. He is the hardest working agent in this town. He will not let a good home slip by to other buyers. I still have contact with Scott and he often checks up on us to make sure our move was easy.

Scott is a high energy, hard working agent. We used him as our buying agent and he represented us expertly. He was willing to look at and write offers on any properties we wanted. He was quick to offer advice if he felt a unit was wrong for us or over market price. He knows the Boston area very well and his network of support services (like contractors) came in handy. Overall I’d strongly recommend him for your real estate transaction.

A couple of summers ago, I was kayaking in the Charles River on a hot, humid August day, wishing I’d brought a cold drink. I came upon two couples rafted up in two kayaks. As I was about to pass them, one of the men said, «Hi, would you like a cold beer?» «You bet! Thanks!». So I rafted up alongside them and thus met Scott, his wife and her sister and brother-​in-​law. It took Scott just a few minutes to learn that I own my home, did not want to sell it at this time, was maybe in the market for a full-​service kind of place to rent now and move to when I get a bit older.
Long story short, he got my contact information, kept in touch and a few months later he helped me find just what I was looking for at a good price, showing me a variety of properties but homing in quickly on exactly what I wanted. Since then, he has served as my rental agent, finding me a good tenant and renegotiating the lease for renewal. I’m very happy with the service he’s provided and I’m glad I accepted that beer.

Our first contact with Scott and Marc, the owner of Atlas, was last July. We completed purchase of a penthouse condo in Beacon Hill the end of January. Without Scott’s diligence, it would never have happened. Although we have owned multiple houses, this was our first condo, our first property in the Boston area, and we were buying remotely from more than 1500 miles away.
Only after the owner accepted our offer did we learn that he had multiple state and federal tax liens on the property, totaling a significant fraction of the purchase price. This dramatically increased the complexity of the purchase. In addition, unfortunately, the owner was initially reluctant to be fully open with his own realtor and real estate lawyer, much less us. This further added to the challenges Scott faced. He took the initiative to contact a tax lawyer that educated us on buying property with tax liens. He worked closely with the real estate lawyer that my wife and I selected, who also had experience with tax liens. It soon became very clear that Scott understood the tax lien related challenges of this condo purchase better than the owner’s realtor, who was an experienced professional with one of the larger firms in the area. She actually called him for updates.
Late in the process, we learned that the owner was actually personally negotiating a «short sale» with the IRS. This added to the complexity of what was already a complex deal. Scott remained diligent throughout the two delays in closing, maintaining his optimism and ensuring all key participants, including the owner’s realtor, were constantly updated.
We cannot thank Scott enough for helping us acquire a condo we really like. In the process my wife and I developed a new friend, who is continuing to help us with our new condo. Scott helped us sell our 2bd condo in Back Bay and did an amazing job. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the level of service or the outcome. Scott, Marc, and the Atlas team did a great job of helping us prep and stage the apartment. The have a great eye for how best to present the property and the place looked so amazing that I was almost ready to move back in!
Scott was also very responsive throughout the whole process. One of our criteria in choosing a realtor was we wanted someone who was going to take great pictures to truly show off what our property had to offer and get people in the door to see the apartment. Marc was very careful to choose the day and time that optimized the sunlight in the apartment and the pictures turned out beautifully (185 Mass Ave).
The outcome couldn’t have been better. We sold the apartment for a price that I personally did not think was possible and were under contract within a week of the listing. The timing was great since we were moving to the West Coast. With Scott’s help, the transaction closed smoothly and we were free to focus on our new life.

We used Scott Farrell from Atlas Properties for the sale of our condo in Boston, and we are SO glad we did! From Day 1, we were really impressed by Scott’s energy, enthusiasm, and responsiveness. He was always very quick to respond to calls and emails. We were out of town owners, and we were hesitant to put our condo in someone else’s hands, but we trusted Scott throughout the process. He amazed us by how quickly he was able to get our condo ready for pictures and open house.
We basically had a very short window to get everything done, but Scott was able to manage the entire process seamlessly. To our amazement, he was able to get stagers and a cleaning crew into our condo within a couple days, and the staging looked absolutely beautiful! So basically within one week, the apt was staged/​cleaned, pictures were taken, ads written, the unit listed in MLS, and ready for Open House.
What was EVEN MORE amazing is that Scott was able to manage a multiple bid situation for our condo and get us a really great price for our condo within one week of listing! We were so happy about the results and could not have thanked Scott and Marc more for their service.
They are an awesome team, and we could not recommend them more. They truly care about their clients and really want to do everything in the best interests of their clients. While some agents only care about commissions, Scott really cared about getting US the best price possible for our apt. He also has a great sense of humor!
