When I was younger I attended a powerlifting meet and immediately realized that it was something that I wanted to do. When I was 22 I began competing in the 185 pound weight class in the Natural Athlete Strength Association (NASA) circuit. After a lot of hard work and dedication, I achieved several records for my weight class and won the 1999 World Powerlifting Championship.
I began training with a competitor in the Highland Games in 1999 and then began competing myself in 2000. Two years later I retired from Powerlifting so that I could put more focus on the Athletic conditioning of the Highland Games. I excelled and set many World and field records as both an amateur and a Professional. From 2002 to 2006 I was a member of the North/South competition conference, with a highlight as a member of the Champion USA Highland Team. In 2007 I joined the Professional circuit and competed for 2 years.
In 2006 I decided to use my talents to train others and help them become better athletes. I have learned that it is not the overall size of a person, but the amount of muscle that makes the difference. I train people to build that muscle mass and use it effectively.
