I needed a massage and got a really great Groupon deal for an hour and a half massage at Journey Body Studio. The massage was decent(I’ve had better and I’ve had worse), but it was definitely worth the amount I paid for the Groupon. It seems that since they’ve moved they improved upon their scheduling process. You can schedule online, which is great, however I found it hard to find a time to fit my massage into my schedule. There aren’t a lot of late night or weekend appointments, and the ones they did have were booked solid for over a month. I also received a call the night before my massage to confirm and give directions to the studio. Thankfully they told me which suite it was in the voicemail because they don’t have a sign on their door. It’s just one long hallways of doors that you can’t see past, so I almost felt like I was about to walk into someone’s office or something. The studio itself is really small with only two massage rooms and one lobby room. The massage rooms are also set up like a normal massage room, and they give you a little bag with the masseuse’s card, a coupon for your next visit, a piece of chocolate, and a bag of tea. Besides my massage just being an average massage, my only complaint is that my massage started a few minutes late and ended almost 10 minutes early. So I didn’t really receive a full hour and a half massage.

Right now I’m giving Journey Body Studio 2 stars. Cuz they have incorrect info on Unilocal n Groupon. Unfortunately, my hubby surprised me w/massages us b4 he checked them out. According 2 the Groupon u have 2 schedule your massage. But the web link, the address on the Groupon/Yelp n the number on Unilocal is invalid. The only number that went thru was on Groupon 248−592−7476. We left a message we will c what happens. Also, the message gave a totally different address then the Groupon/Yelp. They say they are now located n Birmingham. My rating may change once we receive our massages. Stay tuned more 2 come.

Friendly staff, but very small studio — I only saw a lobby and one massage room. Music played during my massage was R & B versus typical spa relaxation music. I could hear the conversations of the 4 – 5 staff from other offices in the building chatting in Journey’s lobby for the entire hour of my massage. Hot stones were in crock pots(maybe this is normal, I don’t know) One of the rocks was so hot I had to remove it from my back myself as my massage therapist walked away. She replied with«Sorry — just doin my job!» Therapist walked in and out of my room twice and left door open. In between each time she used the hot stones, she would step away for a few minutes and spray the rocks. Couldn’t this be completed at the end of my massage? All in all, the massage itself wasn’t awful, but between the noise, the walking away of my therapist several times, the burning rocks, I walked out feeling more stressed than relaxed.
